Sojourn is a Scrypt coin that will be used in a similar manner as hotel points. We at Sojourn will operate a hotel booking website (offered internationally) that will allow reservations to be made and paid in most major forms of cryptocurrency. Sojourn coins will be issued as rewards with every booking, and can be used to pay for future bookings. The site will be rudimentary at first, and orders will be filled manually. It will mirror popular travel agencies as far as availability and pricing is concerned. A fully automated booking site will be worked on when more funding is available to us. Fees for the site will be set at 1% to combat any losses we may take due to market changes, and we anticipate giving 2% of booking value in sojourn coins during the first few months of the service. The goal is to make hotel points work financially for the user. On a traditional travel website, value is fixed and at the sole discretion of the company. We want to provide rewards that will increase in value as use is adopted. Your reward coins will not be trapped in the system, they are yours and you can use or trade them as you please.

Why premine? Let me start by saying that the concept of a premine leaves a bit of a shadow over a project. We have to use one because in order for this concept to sustain itself, we need coins to be able to pay out to users. If we did not have a decent supply of our own coins, someone who had been mining the currency heavily could exchange their coins for hotel bookings which could potentially wipe us out financially. This issue is magnified even more if the value of the coin increases. The premine provides a buffer while starting out to sustain us through growing pains. Mining rewards are designed to be large at the beginning to offset the negative effects of the premine.

Do we really need yet another blockchain? We went back and forth over using our own blockchain or the token system via ethereum. We came to the conclusion that the ethereum platform is overworked at the moment and needs more opportunity to scale. By using our own chain we eliminate any future complications this may bring.
