1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Is it possible for one Script to add a sum to another script? on: January 01, 2024, 06:15:03 PM
Is it possible for one bitcoin script to be responsible for handling a calculation and taking the result and adding it to the sum in another script?
I'm trying to understand the limits of Bitcoin.

I understand bitcoin scripts aren't turing complete, but I do believe they can perform a "babylonian square root" in a limited form if the code for that loop is simply repeated.
The gas cost of ethereum limit the precision of this type of function anyway.

My goal is to bring my governance protocol to bitcoin. It is derived from a project that initially started as a pyramid scheme called proof of weak hands. In that smart contract they use the babylonian square root function.

I've asked chatGPT, and it seems scripts can be linked together, but I wanted to ask here just to be sure it's not hallucinating.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / The only logical killer app for blockchain on: June 03, 2023, 12:07:21 PM
The only logical path forward for this blockchain technology is to start using some governance protocols to secure and effectively decentralized territory in the real world. Just look at how the current world works the banks are at the top the banks run the government's and then the government's have authority over physical boundaries and have the Monopoly for physical violence.

The only thing we need to be focused on to really move crypto forward is finding ways to anchor governance protocols into the real world. This is in fact the scaling solution because once we're able to effectively decentralize territory we can then put data centers and routers in this decentralized territory and now you're scaling is only limited by compute speed processing speed
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What if the block reward was based on the absolute value of the delta in hashr8? on: May 21, 2023, 07:52:49 PM
My first thought is, "if the hashrate drops, people are incentivized to secure the network by jumping in" & it would also incentivize rapid growth of the network.

Punch holes in this idea. Just a thought.

If the hash rate stabilized, I believe we'd see much higher tx fees. I'm fine with that personally.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Someone sent me a Nemo wallet with 2.1 BTC in it. It shows a screenshot of keys on: January 16, 2023, 12:16:44 AM
But the mnemonic phrase doesn't work
It shows 2 QR codes. one of the BTC address, the other of the old style 18 word mnemonic  phrase. I tried  the phrase in multiple wallets and tools online but it doesn't work. All the words belong tot he BIP 39 word list too. One of the words is duplicated, I wonder if that may be an issue.

Thought I had a lucky break from a stranger. I guess not

Last transactions from wallet were from 2014

5  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Bitcoin is programmable, just not Turing complete, correct? on: January 10, 2023, 12:50:55 PM
As far as I understand, Bitcoin is programmable, just not Turing complete.
But what's the point of Turing completeness if the gas limits everything already? Why not just repeat the statement in code? Or "Goto" and "Label"?
Are you telling me the EVM's only reason for success is that it was just more palatable to developers and what they believed about how smart contract ought to be?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / POW chain that mints coins only by the difference in difficulty increasing on: December 20, 2022, 12:13:31 AM
I'm thinking about a proof of work chain where coin is minted only by the difference in the increase of difficulty.

inflationary, yes. but only if difficulty increases.
Inflation is important to me because I think about fairness. Fairness of DAOs
When it's easy to lock coins in a smart contract for hundreds or 1000s of years, we can't rely on the "human element' to sell those coins on the market.
There's a difference in increase, but then also a difference in increase or decrease.
Including decrease would incentivize more to contribute to the network if significant amounts of the contributors were "killed" off.
I'm learning that hash rate and difficulty are not linearly correlated. Which one represent energy put towards the system?
I'm asking all of this because I have a DAO protocol that I believe is very strong for layer 2. but only if layer 1 is inflationary.
I believe that perfecting decentralization of the network requires perpetual growth. That eventually means going beyond this planet.
I really like Ethereum classic. but it's max supply monetary policy is not ideal for decentralization of DAOs.

Honestly, find better code for a DAO than this

pro-tip, you can't

get the fuck to work. save the world. I want to see people act like this technology can actually change the world instead of just making a few junkies rich
9  Other / Off-topic / You awaken in a grassy field, unable to remember how you got here. on: July 15, 2021, 04:41:09 AM
You're human. You wake up in this place. You have no idea how you got here.
This isn't just a game.
I need people to RP so I can fill out more and more of the story. It may take a while.

Trying to break the fourth wall, or just doing plane stupid stuff, I'm not going to waste my energy on. It actually cost money to run this thing for me & i'm competing against other writers.
anyway. it starts off like this

Everyone starts with the exact same prompt

Quote
You awaken in a grassy field, unable to remember how you got here. You can hear a waterfall in a nearby forest, and you can see smoke rising from a town in the distance
_Meditate in the field
_Go to the forest
_Go to the town
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Bandersnatch - Choose your own Adventure. on: July 10, 2021, 09:32:25 PM
"You awaken in a grassy field, unable to remember how you got here. You can hear a waterfall in a nearby forest, and you can see smoke rising from a town in the distance."
_Investigate the town
_Meditate in the field
_Go to the forest
+(choose your own adventure)

This is the beginning of your new adventure.

The game is on https://Obelus.voto under dApps, Bandersnatch. You have to be on the $ETC network to see it. (metamask)

You can simply be a player and go through all of the different branches people have made, or you can add on to the story wherever you'd like.
When you submit your story addition, it has to get approved by the oracle.
Here is the smart contract
https://blockscout.com/etc/mainnet/address/0x406135C7AB90D8fe5bf62d091aF792ff037198ba/contracts
It's on ethereum classic so you'll need to switch metamask over to ethereum classic

There's already a good bit of the story developing
If we play in this thread I can distribute the NFTs I make at a later date.
Just begin by picking one of the options (or make up your own)

The guy that came up with the prompt is this guy. He was the first to create a choose your own adventure game on the blockchain. I later came in with an oracle solution that could verify story additions. I really liked his opening line because it has air, fire, water and earth & also 3 ways to explore society, the wilderness and the self.

11  Economy / Services / I need clever marketing for a controversial oracle solution on: February 24, 2020, 02:31:07 PM
My product Borealis.Network is the oracle and scaling solution.
But it's impossible to convince people of this because it's is very counter intuitive and controversial.

It does use something called a pyramid, but it's not about the pyramid. it's about the ring that the pyramid creates.
This ring can be used to perfect oracles and the scaling solution.
12  Economy / Investor-based games / Oracles secured by Pyramids |Borealis.Network| on: February 24, 2020, 01:15:49 PM
https://borealis.network/#/
Pyramid schemes are actually useful.
They can be used to secure pyramids.

Tokenized Debt as Trust

I've been doing  development on a theory for a year that attempts to use pyramids as a device to stabilize the trust of oracles.
Debt, by nature, is distributed. Everything in finance is a pyramid scheme. Everything is about economic growth. But the debt from that economic growth can now be harnessed as trust. This can be made fully manifest because the blockchain medium is something that can not be compromised.

Everything is open source and development is 100% transparent.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What are the challenges of making a "Local Bitcoins" smart contract? on: November 02, 2019, 04:25:11 AM
What are the main obstacles associated with setting up a "local bitcoins" smart contract?

Elect disputers will be a challenge of course. But I believe I have a fair solution that can fix this.
Also. What kind of receipts should disputers look at?

15  Other / Off-topic / One world language through blockchain smart contracts on: July 13, 2019, 02:26:01 AM
I'm curious about finding a way that everyone could collectively contribute to a new language.
It could range from a new social network format to some kind of blockchain concept.

It may be have to be gamified. That would have to be very abstract. Would probably require a bit of input from linguists.

In a way, we're already creating a unified language. Slowly through the internet. memes and short texts are blurring the boundaries between people.
Maybe the key is making that easier to do in in the next social platform. or maybe some type of universal language api. that's where blockchain would come into play.
16  Bitcoin / Project Development / Get funding without asking for it all up front. on: July 28, 2018, 02:15:34 PM

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Astra, Gridcoin, Curecoin ? more? Proof of Research on: June 14, 2018, 01:26:56 PM
I've recently been looking more into gridcoin and astra and it seems like none of them actually have a super strong commercial-tech grip on the industry.

XYO is going to change this area in proof algorithms because it allows for a 2nd layer of proof of decentralization.
basically and oracle for everything.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Pyrconnect on: May 02, 2018, 06:06:07 PM

I am the Dev of a very radical project.
It's a decentralized lending ecosystem with a regulation mechanic bake in.

The current smart contract is the core generator to the platform.
Everything is going to be built out from this ICO fused with Proof of Weak Hands.

I want to blow up cities with Money Bombs.
I want to change people's lives with this money.
I want you to feel the rush of what it's like to be on top of something truly innovative.
This is something no one can stop if we all work together.
It's an immutable smart contract.

This is the FinTech equivalent of a Nuclear Weapon/WoMD. Fully harnessed for any type of high precision strike where we want when we want it.

https://PyrConnect.com/

So how does it work?

You pay a fee when you buy in. That fee is paid as dividends to all current holders.
You purchase tokens. The smart contract controls the sell and buy price of tokens.
When you buy, the token price goes up, when you sell, the token price goes down.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / PyrLink: Earn ETH by staking Licensing Bonds on: April 22, 2018, 09:45:09 AM

Earn ETH by staking Licensing Bonds

This is a smart contract that uses the PoWH model.
You stake ETH, and you earn ETH as people buy and sell.

Holding the ETH is securing "Tax Licenses" that are released when the economy under the contract drops.
Those licenses are used to tax users within the ecosystem.

http://PyrLink.com/ is the website. The core contract is up now

Here's the run down.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IP6y55GHJo

This is like the PoWH contract but enhanced:

Bull & Bear Tokens: Dividends for Buys, dividends for Sells
Flux Fee: Fee = exported ETH / imported ETH
Infinite Referrals: multi level referral... infinite.. not a single layer masternode
Resolve Token: To be consume for the next project that is built. ICO token.

20  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin Movie on: March 14, 2018, 05:52:55 PM
I can't promise anything.

As a lot of you know.
It's been one hell of a ride.
We have some interesting characters.
Some great memes.

I'm willing to gamble on the possibility of a Memetic Comedic Bitcoin/Crypto movie.

There are real characters that are taking on very interesting real life roles as we speak. These are exponentially critical times we live in, so it's only natural that they live up to this level of hype.

But right.
The idea with this thread is to solidify an open source'd concept for a movie.
We can structure ideas on github

How can we mix memes and reality?
