1  Economy / Goods / More 90% silver Franklin halves, escrowed Bitmit auctions on: November 12, 2012, 07:55:57 PM
Hello,

I just put up three $1-face-value lots of 90% silver Franklin half dollars.  The bidding starts at 0.5 BTC.

Also, there are still two lots of Washington quarters (90% silver, $1 FV) with no bids on them.  These could conceivably go for less than melt value.

These are escrowed auctions at Bitmit.

You can look at my feedback on these other sites if you care to:

2  Economy / Goods / [WTS] Silver: Franklin Halves in $1 FV lots, @ Bitmit on: November 05, 2012, 04:00:07 AM
Friday, November 09 2012 -- Added two more lots of 90% silver Washington quarters.

And US shipping is free for all of these auctions.  Worldwide shipping is .5 BTC.  Shipping to Canada is .3 BTC.  Yes, I will combine shipping to save you money.

Running some silver auctions at bitmit... so far I'm auctioning some Ben Franklin half dollars, along with some Walking Liberty half dollars and a few George Washington Quarters.  All of these coins are in $1-face-value lots with free US shipping.

Also have an Austrian Philharmonic silver ounce up there as well.  If there's anything you're looking for in silver coins, PM me via the forum or via bitmit.

This too: just lowered the starting bid on the two Walking Liberty half dollars because no one was bidding on them.  The pictures are terrible, I know, but the silver value of these coins is equal to the Franklin halves.  Maybe someone will get lucky and pick them up for much less than they're worth.

3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Paypal is a b*tch. on: July 25, 2011, 05:40:02 PM
Check out this bologna:

Quote
We're writing to let you know about a change to your PayPal account.

Starting 7/24/2011, money from payments you receive will be placed in a pending balance for up to 21 days. By doing this, we're making sure that there's enough money in your account to cover potential refunds or claims.

Even though you can't access the money right away, please ship orders quickly and communicate with your customers. After 21 days, you can withdraw money from each payment as long as the customer hasn't filed a dispute, chargeback, claim, return, or reversal.
The money may be available sooner if:

   1. We can confirm that the item was delivered.
   2. Your buyer leaves positive feedback. (Applies only to eBay items)

This change isn't necessarily permanent. We'll review your account every 35 days and re-evaluate if we should continue to hold your payments. If we decide to stop holding payments, we'll email you to let you know.

Why are my payments being held?
We reviewed your account and determined that there's a relatively higher than average risk of future transaction issues (such as claims, or chargebacks, or payment reversals). We understand that it may be inconvenient to have your payments temporarily held but please know that we didn't make this decision lightly.

Before deciding to hold payments, we consider many factors. These factors include account and transaction activity, the rate of customer disputes, the type of business a seller runs, average delivery timeframes, customer satisfaction, performance and history.

21 day hold = paypal is useless to me

I haven't sold anything on ebay in months.  I suspect that this is related to a couple of bitcoin transactions I've made.  Though I haven't sold bitcoins, so the question of chargebacks is arguable.

I wonder if they're just going through their records and crippling everyone who's got any involvement with the BTC?

4  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Books for sale on: May 25, 2011, 05:42:15 AM
Used books!

I've got 82 titles for sale.  Browse the list, there's a wide variety.  Make me an offer in BTC.

Be sure to click the USD price to see the copy I have for sale and the condition notes.  Also please note that shipping is not included in the listed prices.  However, I can weigh any book and tell you the shipping price right away.  For BTC buyers, all shipping options are available, and I will ship anywhere in the world.

PM me via this forum to make an offer and reserve a book.  From there we can switch to any communication mode you like.

5  Other / Obsolete (selling) / [Selling] $9.40 Borders.com credit on: May 15, 2011, 08:15:05 AM
I've got $9.40 left on this card and I just want to get rid of it before Borders goes out of business.  Deal is: Bitcoins for the card code via PM.

Message me your offers and I'll sort out the winner in the morning (1700ish GMT.)

6  Bitcoin / Project Development / BTC/Silver exchange rate script on: May 09, 2011, 07:36:54 AM
Okay, I worked out a source for a more-or-less live silver spot price.  Which means I was able to finish my Perl script for getting the BTC/Ag ratio with the press of a button.

Right now the script is posting data to https://twitter.com/HollowTreexds  every 20 minutes.  The formatting might be a little rough, though.

I can output this data in all kinds of ways, comma delimited, whatever.  If anyone has any use for it, let me know.

I aim to have this thing plotting a graph at some point.  Time will tell.
