1  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Is mining worth it? Thinking of investing on: June 03, 2014, 08:43:31 AM
I just cashed out 3300$ worth of BTC via bistamp.

I am wondering if mining is worth it and where I can start.

Which miner should I buy? Should I wait for Scrypt or stay with BTC?

I like the idea of Scrypt since it might make a lot of profits in first year or so, but I am worried it will be denied and just shut down as it begins. Also with BTC Miners I am worried because in just a couple months more powerful ones will come out until the ones I will buy produce close to nothing.

Are there specific miners that are worth investing in?
What do you guys think.

12  Economy / Economics / Why do people keep saying BTC is dead?! on: February 14, 2014, 01:10:10 PM
Every time, for as long as I remember, that I go on bitcointalk, everyone keeps posting "BTC IS DEAD" "SELL" etc... And then a few Sr/Hero members come and explain how thats wrong.

I just don't get it.

Aren't we used to the price fluctuating by now? Whats with all the crying/moaning about price bubbles, crashing, inflations, Russia, China blablablablablablaaaaa!

Jeez... Do some research before posting, I saw one post which got LOADS of attention, yet the first post was done by paint, with an unlabelled graph which showed wrong data!

This is getting to the point where we are affecting newer members or gullible people into selling/dumping all their coins instead of keeping them. I mean when I come on the forum, I see that its crashing, why would I buy in?

I think we need to stop giving the panicking people attention and focus more on positive sides.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Passive income methods (GPU Mining included) {QUESTION!} on: February 07, 2014, 04:20:37 PM
I am aiming to make $1000 USD + a month via a passive income method.

Now BTC mining is dead, unless you get an Overpowered SHA256 ASIC.

I was thinking of building a Scrypt GPU mining rig, people say ASICs are coming out but they seem to be Salsa20/8 mods of the SHA256 rigs meaning they don't pump out a lot of hash/$.

For 3400$ I can make a rig with 4.2 Mhash/sec Scrypt.

Now most sites say that I can make 1000$+ profit out of most alt-scrypt currencies using that hardware, and that I can sell it back at 50%+ the original price (1700$+) meaning I should get a good ROI.

What do you guys think in terms of passive sources of income,
I am trying to do projects and would like a passive source of income easy to monitor and stabilize.

I would have up to 10,000$ to invest in order to earn 1000/month+
