1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Paying Mortgage with Bitcoin on: December 03, 2013, 03:57:41 PM
Is there any service that can accomplish paying your mortgage with bitcoin?   Thinking it would be great if there was a service where you could send your bitcoins and that service would make a check payable to the person or business of your choice.  This would allow people to pay for utility bills, mortgages, and the things that you have to pay every month...    I would have no problem taking paying a 3% fee for this.

I was hoping something like this existed already, if not someone could create this very easily and make money.

1> Create webpage, allow users to checkout using BitPay. (Add 2-3% charge)
2> The dollars will be deposited into your bank account
3> Send out check payments based on the input from the user. This can all be completely automated.
4> Profit!  : Just imagine earning 2-3% off of everyone's payments..

The reason why this would be a great service is due to the tax issues.   Using this route would allow users to skip capital gains taxes!  All the profits I've made off the BTC rise, I can directly put toward my mortgage and pay it down considerably.   If I was to cash out the bitcoins then pay my mortgage, I would have to pay taxes on those first!

Thanks!  Hope there is a service out there or someone creates it!

Doin this as a hobby since April.  Got one miner @ 2600 KHs for LTC.  Used my cash investment for a chunk of LTC but currently in the red due to the recent drops.   Also have a handful of WDC due to the speed of the coin.  It was so cheap that I decided to try it out and just leave it alone.

Back in April I did order 2x50 GHz units from BFL and that was going to be my BTC investment but we all know how that is currently working out.   I also have two KNC units ordered inside the 1-500 range.

It seemed like a good idea to grab 20 of the USB BTC Miners @ 2BTC and if I don't use them, I can just sell them on ebay then turn that around and buy BTC.  This seems like a better idea than mining with them.  So we will see how that goes.   I get them in two days.

My biggest bad habit is checking out the BTC-e chat box...   As long as I don't act on anything I head-- things are ok.   Only once did I jump on the bandwagon without doing my research and got burned.

Hats off to the members who traveled to the KNC Openday!   That was awesome!

3  Other / Beginners & Help / LiteCoin Mining (7870 x 2) GuiMiner v.02 on: April 18, 2013, 07:39:21 PM
Got a machine up and running with 2 7870's and soon to add two more but wanted to get these running smooth before adding 2 more cards.  Running GuiMiner v.02 for Litecoin mining.

Thread Concurrency = 15508
Vectors = 1
GPU Threads = 1
Worksize = 256
Intensity = 20
Use Stratum = No

I've tried anywhere from 12-20 on intensity and it will change the hashrate but not the number of stales.   I get around 300-350 khash/s per card but a stale rate of 30%-40%.   Currently using burnside's LTC pool (http://ltc.kattare.com).

Any suggestions to get the stale rate down?

Appreciate the help!
