Basically I realised the thing that was holding back my GPU overclock was actually my CPU overlock. Dialled my i3 back down from 4GHz to a slightly more reasonable 3.66 and now I can run my 5830 GPU at 1000/1310 where the previous max stable OC was 925/1250 (stock is 840/1125).
This has taken my hashrate from 280Mhash with 250WU up to 317Mhash with 290-300WU but I'm now getting 1 HW error every couple of days. Is this anything to particularly worry about? Temps are 75 core, 78 ram and 76 on the VRM with the fanspeed at 2900RPM.
Hope it's not going to burst into flames like my other 5830, although that one never had a single hardware error.

As the title, I've come across these for under $100: The manufacturer website claims they're GPU compatible but no real further info. http://www.supermicro.nl/support/resources/Riser/riser.aspxHas anyone ever used these? Could be perfect for my needs. Want to get another couple of cards but not build a new rig. You can even see on the picture it has the solder footprint for a 6pin power cable and what is probably space for ripple smoothing capacitors to take the strain off the motherboard and supply clean power to the cards.

If for example, I noticed someone using terracoin had the same receive address as my bitcoin one, could I use my bitcoin private key on the terracoin network to spend all of that person's coins? Surely this could work as they both use the same algorithm to derive the public key from the private one.
Seems like quite a big security flaw, although ridiculously unlikely to happen, it could..

Able to overclock my windforce 7970 to 1080/1500 with -20 power, although the temperature is still around 90 degrees!
Is this normal? The card gets fresh air but originally sat at around 70 but now is always above 88 under load. Changing the power setting seems to do nothing.

Hi there, been mining for a while on a 7970 at 725kHash on litecoin. Im trying to now mine bitcoin, yet my speed is also listed in kHash (around 750) but no work gets done or shares accepted.
Also the card sits about 30 degrees cooler than with litecoin so the card obviously isn't under proper load. I've tried redownloading cgminer to no avail. Help!?
And yes I have removed --scrypt

Hey guys, thought I'd get in on the action of the printing your own money thingy. Gonna make it a bit harder for you guys; the starting difficulty and coin reward are a secret mystery, as is the code.
I wont be posting binaries or source code. The coin launches NOW cause I've just turned my miners on.
There may be other people who already know too and have a couple of GPU farms ready. This is so that if general public (i.e. you) actually work out how to mine this coin then you'll only get orphan blocks, this takes some basic routing and mesh network setup on my end and makes sure that too many coins won't be given away to strangers.
Opinions?

Basically today I tried to switch my miner over to terracoin, but it seems when I put it on a SHA256 coin it doesn't get any accepted or rejected shares and only ramps up to 30% ish usage. In the pic you can see on the far right 100% usage where litecoin mining is run, then the 30% where othercoins refuse to miner properly. Whats up here? Thanks for any help
