1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / PCIe riser(USB 3.0) WHEA errors on: July 21, 2017, 02:03:12 PM
I recently swapped out old powered ribbon risers (a 16x to 16x and 1x to 16x) for the ver 006c 16x-1x usb 3.0 risers in a rig, but with the newer risers i get WHEA PCIE errors in the event logs at about 10-15 per second. The hash rates are the same and the system as a whole is still stable.

Trying risers that work on another miner that doesn't produce these events do the same on this miner, and the risers i was trying also work on my other miner without any problems.
The motherboard is a MSI Z170 Tomahawk with latest BIOS, a Pentium G3560 and 2x MSI RX580 Armor. Running on Windows 10 64bit.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Monero Stealth miner. on: June 04, 2014, 08:43:41 PM
Previously I had found a stealth miner on my machine mining Primecoin (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=607930) but,
Despite having re-installed Windows and being careful to avoid running any browser outside of a sandbox and not installing java, Today I noticed it had returned sometime in the past 2 days and its a new version.

)Now its downloading minerd from this location https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/6yug7j4d6hl83o5/wmpnetwk.bin
)Its mining Monero on mine.Moneropool.com using this address 4B6L2v81ehU6JFFxMH9AADhUPqe3zjZE8TUcQFzTSUwY5iESpPVwi9AhQ8HjRhPtqn9sPdDHm3qy4cb JD2bxppr6G7GN8fW
I'm not the only one affected since if you check the address on the pool you can see its still mining with a high hash rate for Monero.

wmpnetwk.dll (51,200) https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/e2e6b6938879142c4e35542b5fe8d3eeec7bf9e682f915213fda009097c3878e/analysis/1401909211/
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Found a Trojan Miner not caught by any A/V I've thrown at it. on: May 13, 2014, 07:05:18 PM
A little heads up,
Recently I found xptMiner was being silently installed on my windows wallet/miner PC. After unpacking with UPX and digging around the DLL I've found its mining (prime?) with the following credentials on YPool,

-u x12121212121212.15992C5B5E80 -p E64001AE8673
-u x12121212121212.319302B4FC9B -p 8EAD3FED8A47

A DLL downloads the miner from Dropbox using these 2 URLs:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/ae4kr9qozv9h7qu/wmpnetwk64.bin
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/deyrqj982z2nvmq/wmpnetwk32.bin

Hides its self in "\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent" as 2 files "wmpnetwk.dll" and "wmpnetwk.exe" with a registry key to auto start the DLL as the EXE seems to be an untouched version of xptMiner that gets executed with a command line with the above usernames and passwords. The files can't be seen in explorer but they are visible from a Command Prompt(cmd).
Still cant find where the DLL is coming from despite removing it twice manually already and doing scans with various tools, so probably just going to restore an image of the OS to take care of rootkit/installer and be done with it.

Edit: seems a friend has it on one of his as-well.

Sometimes I think that over half the posters here are double/triple/quadruple accounts all talking to themselves to give their new alts some kind of rational that should other wise not exist in the first place, also does the mod every look at this section seems to be riffle with trolls, scams and douche-bags.
