1  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Best crypto wallet - Ledger Nano X ? on: May 21, 2020, 02:26:15 AM

Is Ledger Nano X the best crypto wallet (in terms of most secure and easy use for many coins)? I find that the seed phrase generated is potentially very troubling for two reasons: (1) If other people spot the seed phrase, they can take away all the coins. How do you keep the seed phrase long term? (2) I read that "generally a seed phrase only works with the same wallet software that created it".  What if that software - Ledger Live is no longer available or workable in the future? Thanks for any relevant info.

People are paying very high premium buying bitcoin and ether in Grayscale's Fund - GBT and Ethe. I guess an important reason is that it is too difficult or too much trouble to keep and manage private keys themselves.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What impact of printing a lot of money on inflation and Bitcoin on: March 26, 2020, 01:00:35 PM
6 trillion U.S. dollars will be pumped into the U.S. system alone, that is about $48,000 per family if distributed evenly (definitely not). What is your estimated impact on inflation in half year, 1 year, 3 years etc, and on Bitcoin?

I read from the great book "The Bitcoin Standard" that U.S. prints an average of about 7% more money per year and China prints an average of about 20% more money per year over many years., but the actual average yearly inflation seems to me like about half of those numbers. Is it false or something like improved productivity due to improved technologies, more efficient business models, or profits/wealth taken from other countries that keep the inflation much lower than printing money?

Thanks for any comment and discussion.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Another big and convenient way to trade bitcoin on: June 18, 2017, 04:46:10 PM
Most institutions cannot buy Bitcoin yet due to current (lack of) regulations, but there appears to be a convenient way to trade Bitcoin through trading Bitcoin Investment Trust (GBTC) just as a regular stock on the stock market. GBTC price is directly derived from Bitcoin price with some premium. This premium may be considered as that buying a house with all the furniture, solar panels, golf club membership etc and can be more than recouped when selling. Furthermore, when Bitcoin appreciates value many times higher than the stock market and GBTC's price is a magnification of Bitcoin price (much more limited supply than Bitcoins), the small premium paid when buying GBTC is quite small when one sells GBTC in a couple of years when Bitcoin price is up 10 times or more if recent trend likely continue.

Also, most people likely have retirement accounts and it is currently not convenient or cost effective to set up and manage properly to buy Bitcoin directly, but can directly buy GBTC already. What do you think? Does anyone know another stock similar to GBTC to allow one to buy Bitcoin and with level? and any stock for doing similar to ether? Most people are familiar and comfortable to trade stocks compared with the rather new cryptocurrency trading.
