Why is LTC needs to be more valuable if is listed to GOX. LTC is already the no. 1 alt-currency, is listed on all the majot exchanges, if someone will want to exchange LTC for USD or EURO si very easy without GOX. The development team of LTC is again active and the fixing of the fees is a big improvement and a more important reason for LTC to rise in value, than the listing on GOX.
And, as other have pointed out, if the bitcoin and litecoin will be accepted by the porn industry, the they will risevin value. Not all the porn is free. The current porn payment processor is a jackass, denying payments without reasons,because they are the only ones that accept payments for porn. The pron industry have made the difference in video standard and in the HD standard, and I think it will make the difference in the crypto coins. If you think that porn is free, remember this: the gals and guys from porn don't fuck for free

The title is of course sarcastic. Nevertheless, many users on this forums are saying this.

But let's look at litecoin. Litecoin is the second best crypto currency. There are many users that got rich with lite coin. And as we speak, at this difficulty, there are many users that generate 70 LTC/day.

The fun part start now. The developers are asking for donations to continue the development of the coin. The result? A few of the majors pools have donated some 30 to 70 LTC and one user donated 250 LTC. I think that this every developer dream, to work and develop something, some people sitting on their arses making ten of thousands of dollars, and the devs raising maybe 1000$ to continue the development.

So if anyone will want to make a crypto coin, he can safely quit his job, launch it without premine, because he can always count that the users will donate if the coin is good.

I see that the vast majority has a problem with the premine  when is about a new coin. But we have to consider that also the developers need to have an incentive to develop new and maybe innovative coins. If you take away the premine, the developers will find other tricks to make some money. And we all seen that with bitbar starting at low difficulty and everybody getting orphans because the devs and their friends took over the network, with the yacoin where the developer is suspected to mine with the GPU while the rest are mining with the CPU, and all other coins where everybody are jumping when the difficulty is really low and the payoff is insane only to be left frustrated that they only managed t get maybe 100 coins while some others have by the thousands in a few hours, and this is generating to sides: one side that will support the coin because they where there in the first couple of hours and the 80%-90% of all the coins and the rest that will simply be to upset because they miss the coin launch.
So i propose a fair premine schema (well, i think is fair):
1. Have a fair starting difficulty, like 1 or 5 or anything fair
2. The genesis block will contain lets say 5000 coins if the reward per block is 50 and it will mined by the developer
3. After that the reward for the first 1000 will be 0
4. After that the reward will slowly increase to 100 and when is reaching 100 will stay there for a while (to have some kind an incentive for the people to mine)
5. After that the reward will decrease until is reaching 50 and that will be the stable reward
