141  Economy / Lending / Interested in applying for a Loan proposal, (Going with suchmoon's suggestion) on: October 06, 2019, 07:12:59 PM
Purpose for loan: Investment in digitex altcoin
Duration: maximum 5 months (time starts when loan get filled).
Loan Amount: $1200 (everything will be calculated in USD)
Monthly % interest: 5%

Some important notice: A trusted escrows would be used for this transaction (haven't discussed with anyone yet but probably DarkStar_ service will be employed if he'll be willing to partake in this transaction or we agreed on someone else who's trustworthy).

The filled loan would be sent to the escrow, he buys the token (estimated amount 30,000+ DGTX) and hold the coins until I repay loan amount plus estimated interest based on monthly calculation. After confirmation of full payment, I get access to my coins. Irrespective of when I decide to pay the monthly interested, be it at the 1st or 31st day of the month, I pay the 5% monthly interest.

Note: At any point in time I can direct the escrow to sell the token to pay the lender and cashout my profits but the lender can't access coin unless a default scenario occurs. This is a non collateral loan.

Haven't decided yet but do you think anyone would be interested in offering me this loan?
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 04, 2019, 04:18:03 AM
The altcoin market is a very interesting market when it's operating at its best. When it comes to investing in them just to increase your chances of accumulating more bitcoin or short term investment, you have to understand there's a season for every type of coin. During the 2017 altcoins bull market I observe some interesting trends concerning how the market (altcoins) react which might be of use or serve as a guideline for future market and help prevent you from falling victims to fraudsters and scam projects.

We can't denied the fact the market is still been influence by emotions which you could profit from, that's if you understand how it works. Each type of altcoins had it's season, there was a time only lending tokens were mostly benefiting from the market via price appreciation. Sane with staking/masternode projects as they also had their share of the market. If you were paying close attention to the market you would had observe more and more type of projects based on trending Ideas starter popping up during their season meaning, scammers starts disguising themselves as startups to launch new worthless project just to scam innocent Investors of their funds.

Same observation happened when projects paying dividends started trending, same with projects crowdfunding through Selfdrop instead of ICO, privacy coins also had similar fate etc. Although the current situation of the market isn't encouraging, you still have to be very watchful as this trend could repeat itself at any given time. Understand that scammers are always active looking for new way to scam investors of their funds. When there's a new trend, always be watchful as the chances of getting scammed through that method becomes high. Invest wisely.
143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Emotions; while betting, will you risk losing your fund to back your club? on: September 26, 2019, 10:00:15 PM
Don't know how to put this but I'll try. So lets say your fav club is about playing against a tougher club which on paper they're far better than your club but in your inner most mind you want your club to win therefore, when it comes to placing a bet, which club will you go far. Will you risk losing the bet to back your team winning that match, when you know the chances of them succeeding are almost impossible but since it's football anything is possible or will you bet against you club winning that match but while the match is ongoing you'll be routing for your club to win (in other words routing for yourself to lose your bet)?

How do you balance the emotion of wanting your club to win but not ready to lose your bet in the toughest of games.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoiners, don't give up yet. Bitcoin can't do it alone. on: September 25, 2019, 09:51:59 AM
The altcoin industry have lost some big percentage of patronizers due to the poor performance of the market in the recent months, this have cause so many enthusiasts to lose interest in altcoins in general thinking the cryptocurrency industry can do without them. There's no denied the industry can do without most of the present altcoins but cryptocurrency can't survive without altcoins been present in general. No disrespect to Bitcoin as it started the journey but the industry have grown beyond just bitcoin.

The achievement and development ethereum as a blockchain has contributed for the industry, if the industry had just bitcoin it wouldn't had recorded such developments. We can't do without altcoins, they have become a part of the industry. The sooner we realized that, the better the industry becomes. Don't misunderstand this post, I'm not advising against investing in bitcoin or encouraging investing in the present altcoins although, all I'm trying to say is, if you think the altcoin industry is going into exile, think again.

The altcoin industry is only going through a phase which won't kill it and as what doesn't kill you only make you stronger, the altcoin market will come out stronger as the good will be separated from the bad projects although bitcoin will always be a household name. Invests wisely and don't forget the best of the best altcoins are yet to be developed, the current ones I consider them to just be, test dummies, preparing the way for future altcoins.

What's your take on this, do you think the industry can survive without altcoins, that's just bitcoin been the only currency in the industry.
145  Other / Meta / It's quite time for some cooperation or moderation toward signature campaigns. on: September 24, 2019, 05:27:23 AM
Anyway, this is an exciting topic, but maybe we should move somewhere else. Anyone care to create a thread about this issue? It would be best to give @eternalgloom peace of mind and wish him good luck for his future endeavors.

OK, hear me out before you come to a conclusion, the signature industry on the forum is still a very vital feature of the forum and should not be ignored quite yet unless the total eliminate of the privilege comes into implemented. There's is a reason theymos hasn't removed the privilege yet, he might still be looking for a better solution to make the industry a little bit conducive for the forum. Right now the lack of cooperation or moderation of the sector is also contributing to the problems it's facing.

Users are been required to produce excessive amount of post while recieving peanuts as payment which also contribute the high level of spamming the forum is recording.

This question was asked on the previous thread, this conversation was ongoing,
Hence, how to drive up pay rates? I only know to cut supply (less shitposters sigcamp participants) or increase demand (more casinos service providers).

I gave this suggestion:
Or simply, the campaign manager should come into an agreement to set a minimum payrate per rank then projects willing to pay participants above the minimum payrate are free to do so but no projects will pay below the minimum. This way project hoping to employ the best posters on the forum will be forced to increase their payrate to attract them. Some signature payrate are just so ridiculous they only attracts spamming.

For the payrate, I recommend minimum;
Member = 0.002BTC
Full member = 0.004BTC
Snr member = 0.006BTC
Hero member  = 0.008BTC
Legendary  = 0.01BTC

Like I said payrate are only subjected to minimum payment, projects that's are capable of paying more are free to increase their payrate pay rank. These too has to be match with a reasonable amount of maximum post count per week (haven't come to a conclusion of any number that would be suitable). I understand all fingers aren't equal although the suggestion above isn't that much considering the level of publicity you'll be recieving by advertising your product on the forum.

I recommend we give this a try, if it doesn't improve the current situation of signature campaigns then we brainstorm on other solutions or call for a total elimination of the privilege.
146  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Nigerian crypto educator returns $80k in bitcoin recieve by mistake. on: September 18, 2019, 07:22:42 PM
This threads is as a respond to the numerous replies on my previous thread; Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria proclaiming everything Nigeria is been associated with negatively. The actual truth is the good/positive incident aren't been circulated like the negative news. The media are mostly interested in painting the country bad. This incident of a bitcoin entrepreneur returing 7.8 BTC (worth around $80,000 when the transaction occurs) is an example we do have good individuals among us. I did follow the development of the story when i saw his tweet informing about the mistake although I'll be linking you guys to a more reliable source.

Keith Mali Chung — the co-founder and president of African blockchain firm Loopblock Network — has returned almost $80,000 worth of Bitcoin (BTC) mistakenly sent to his wallet.

Chung — who goes by the Twitter handle of “Bitcoin Keith (The African Bitcoin Bull)” — tweeted about the incident on Sept. 12:
“I received huge sum of BTC from an unknown sender and it’s definitely a mistake from someone I must have had transaction with before, Kindly DM me time of transaction, your adress and exact digits sent..
thank you. Kindly retweet”

In a further update on Sept. 13, Chung revealed that the exact sum of apparently accidentally transferred Bitcoin was 7.8 BTC — worth $79,482 to press time. He also indicated that the sender who remains anonymous had responded to his request, meaning he was able to return the funds. He explained:

“In Africa, which is where I am situated, 80% we transact Cryptos through WhatsApp escrows and someone who himself and I had business in the past made this huge mistake of sending 7.8BTC into my blockchain wallet. I spread the words round & he reached out.”

Chung’s actions earned him significant social media acclaim and even the moniker of “African/Nigerian good samaritan” on crypto Twitter. Had he failed to identify the sender, he had pledged to donate the accidentally-gotten proceeds to Binance, which organizes a series of philanthropic projects via its charity arm, Binance Charity.

In conclusion, Nigerians are enthusiast of this currency (bitcoin), Any Nigerian who have encounter the currency and invested wisely can testify it has had more effects in their life than the government had during that timeframe😁 all I'm trying to say is we mean well towards the adoption of the currency. Although this is a story of just one individual, there are many of us out there who would had done the same.
147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Sad News: Kidnappers now requesting bitcoin as ransom in Nigeria {Gov might ban} on: September 16, 2019, 09:16:16 PM
It's quite a sad time to be a bitcoin (cryptocurrency) enthusiast in Nigeria. While we're trying to spread the positive benefits of the currency across the country and Africa continent as a whole irrespective of the government showing negative signs towards the currency, we have recorded some set backs. Each time we take one step forward the bad eggs of the nation take advantage of the hype and leverage on the anonymousity of the currency. First it was the news of Nigerians using the currency to defraud foreigners, since it was easier and they can't be tracked easily. That development lead to a serious attack on account associated with bitcoin transaction irrespective of your source of income. Some accounts  were reportedly frozen while others were blocked for some days (can't confirm this though since I wasn't affected directly).

Recently, the kidnappers are using it to stay anonymous and avoid been traced. The first time such incident was recorded on the continent was when some Kidnappers requested a random of $120,000 to be paid in bitcoin to release a 13yrs old teenager in South Africa.{CNN reports} now the Nigerians (kidnappers) are buying into the idea of using the currency for their dirty operations. It worries me because what ever Nigerians are engaged in an activity be it good or bad they do it to the extend it becomes a trend which will definitely bring about more regulation and probably a ban on the usages or association with the cryptocurrencies in the country.

The recent development [Kidnappers free Abuja victim after ‘$15,000 ransom paid in bitcoin] will definite damage the image of the currency in the country and around the whole especially Africa, if it becomes a trend. What are the possible solution to avoid this trend becoming an easy way out for the kidnappers thereby spoiling the currency image. And what's your take on this issue.

In other positive news: Nigerian crypto educator returns $80k in bitcoin recieve by mistake.
148  Other / Politics & Society / The Xenophobic attacks on Africans by South Africans, what's your take on this. on: September 06, 2019, 08:16:11 PM
Over the past few days, it has been difficult been an African immigrant, living in South Africa. There isn't any assurances of carrying out your daily activities without the fear of getting abused/assaulted by either the South African police force or citizens. Businesses and (in some cases), home residents of these immigrants have been targeted, burnt/destroyed beyond recognition.

Warning: Very graphic images.

Yes those images are correct, there have been reports of immigrants, cars, businesses etc getting burnt (alive) for no just reason. From my point of view, the South Africans are just displaying selfishness and a little bit of jealousy. These immigrants pose no threat to their economy as they claim, accusing them of stealing their wealth etc. It saddens me seeing my fellow Africa brothers & sisters doing this to others. If we can treat each other like this, what message are we sending to the world.

Here's a message from Travor noah explaining clearly the reason behind this Xenophobic attcaks. It's simply a misdirection of anger towards the wrong set of individuals.

The sooner they realize that, we as Africans have to stand up for each other to protect what we have, help ourselves achieve success, the better the continent will become. It make no sense Africans killing Africans, enslaving each other, hating on each other etc. I stand against Xenophobia. South Africans need to grow up, they need to realized that they're no longer under slavery. What's your take/stand on this xenophobia issue?
149  Other / Politics & Society / Breaking News: Robert Mugabe, Zimbabwe's longtime strong man, dead at 95 on: September 06, 2019, 06:24:42 AM
Robert Mugabe, the founding father of Zimbabwe who ruled the country with an iron fist for more than three decades, has died, according to President Emmerson Mnangagwa. He was 95.

Rumors had swirled around the health of the ex-president, who spent months in a hospital in Singapore earlier this year. Details of what ailed him were a closely guarded secret.

Mugabe -- who infamously claimed that "only God" could ever remove him from office -- was deposed in a coup in 2017, when members of his own party turned against him after he dismissed then vice-president Emmerson Mnangagwa to make way for his wife, Grace.

Mnangagwa would go on to become Zimbabwe's next president.

"It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe's founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe," tweeted Mnangagwa on Friday.

"Cde Mugabe was an icon of liberation, a pan-Africanist who dedicated his life to the emancipation and empowerment of his people. His contribution to the history of our nation and continent will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace."

Once touted internationally as the hope of his nation, Mugabe left office with a grim legacy, after waging a campaign of oppression and violence to maintain power, and driving into poverty a country once known as the breadbasket of southern Africa.

He began his political career as a leader in the quest for the independence of Zimbabwe -- then known as Rhodesia -- and was regularly compared to South Africa's venerated freedom fighter Nelson Mandela.

As a revolutionary guerrilla leader, he fought white-minority rule and spent years in jail as a political prisoner.

After 10 years in prison, he earned university degrees in education, economics and law from the University of London. In the mid-70s, he assumed leadership of the political wing of the Zimbabwe African National Union (ZANU), a militant liberation movement based in Mozambique.

From there, he helped orchestrate an armed resistance against white rule, emerging as a war hero both at home and abroad when the conflict ended in 1979.

He became the first prime minister of the newly independent Zimbabwe after elections in February 1980.

Articulate and smartly dressed, Mugabe came to power commanding the respect of a nation. He had a strong head start, inheriting a country with a stable economy, solid infrastructure and vast natural resources.

But the descent into tyranny didn't take long.

His hardline policies drove the country's flourishing economy to disintegrate after a program of land seizures from white farmers, and agricultural output plummeted and inflation soared.

By 1983, it became clear that Mugabe's administration would be merciless to any one opposing his rule. He presided over forces that carried out a string of massacres in opposition strongholds, and the country's Fifth Brigade is believed to have killed up to 20,000 people, mostly supporters of Mugabe's main political rival.

As the country was plunged into economic ruin, Mugabe and his wife faced fierce criticism for leading lavish lifestyles.

He celebrated his 85th birthday with a lavish party that cost a reported $250,000, even as the country remained in an economic and health crisis. He continued to hold such birthday events annually, last year spending a reported $800,000 and celebrating in a region suffering drought and food shortages.

He repeatedly rebuffed repeated calls to step down, insisting he would only leave office when his "revolution" was complete.

"This is a man who had so much to offer to Zimbabweans, but he didn't, he focused on himself," said Trevor Ncube, one of the country's most powerful publishers.

150  Economy / Scam Accusations / Review: Libra token scam or just another shitcoin. on: September 02, 2019, 06:21:34 AM
Account on forum: Libra-token
What happened: Another project with the libra name.
Website: http://libra-token.nl Archived: http://archive.is/yniSK
Reference thread:
Hello everyone,

We would like to introduce you to libra.
Libra is at the moment just a regular token on the Etherium blockchain.
But I will be every except ordinary. The token will be spendable on- and offline in 2020.
So this is getting a cryptocurrency with many potency.

Now 10 tokens are $0,05.
Archived: http://archive.is/TgizI

When I first saw the thread, i concluded this is another scam projects disguising themselves as Facebook's Libra project but the statement both on the reference thread and website; stating not to be associated with Facebook made me second my decision. Is that statement enough reason to not flag/tag account project as scam? What do you think.
151  Other / Meta / Hey theymos, can i get your attention for a minute. on: August 30, 2019, 09:56:48 AM
Well it's been an honor entrusted with the privilege to be a merit source of this prestigious forums. I'll love to continue my work but will love it more, if I can be entrusted with more monthly resources (smerits). It's been 3 month plus relying on my monthly allocation with huge support from my earned smerits to merit deserving posts (to my best understanding). Although, over the past few weeks it has been more challenging as the earned smerits aren't present to compliment my monthly allocations as usual.

I'll love an increase from my next monthly allocation as I have been forced to rely on my personal earned smerit to continue my work effectively. Also the lack of smerits have restricted my visit to some boards (as I usual do) because I can't stand the sight of not rewarding deserving post when I see one.

The usual of me engaging on the altcoin subboard through reading and rewarding of quality threads has been altered and has resulted to me finding other hobbies to keep me occupied. I'll highly appreciated if this request is put into consideration.

Thank you.

Reference threads: Link to service escrow thread: http://archive.is/IzzCs
Link to no collateral loan: http://archive.is/mrNdG

What happened: This user definitely has scam intentions. After a long period of been inactive (November 2017), the user woke up recently (25 August, 2019) and the first thing he/she does is to offer his services as an escrow. This user also reset the password to the account recently (source: trust page).

When that escrow scam attempt wasn't successful, the user went straight to the lending board to request for a no collateral loan of 0.01BTC.

Uncoincidentally, this user @patrikjine04850 also a newbie who tried requesting for a no collateral loan but was denied, left a decieving positive (untrustworthy) feedback implying the user can be trusted. The feedback was also left recently (25, August 2019) same day the account in question woke up.

This user/users intention on the forum isn't good and has scam red flag written all over the account. Support my flag type1 against the account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=663

156  Economy / Reputation / Request for flag support or negative feedback - Bounty & Bounty Manager Scams. on: August 20, 2019, 07:18:15 AM
Recently, I have been seeing some decent amount of Bounty/Bounty Manager related scam accusation and most time this thread don't get enough support as other visible cases. This thread purpose will serve as a one stop for all bounties related scam flags and in some cases bounty manager flags or negative feedback for their unprofessionalism. Not all cases deserve a flag especially when funds aren't involved so feel free to request for a visible negative feedback don't take matters into your hands like this user suggested; it's time bounty hunters should start taking actions.

As for the DT members interested in keeping this forum bounty scam free, you can keep a tab on this thread to always support cases that the scam accusation are obvious and maybe do a little investigate when the need arises.

157  Economy / Reputation / Hacked account, now requesting to sell account. on: August 11, 2019, 11:55:26 AM
This user ramsdaj28 posted on the auction board few hours ago advertising to sell his Snr member account. Looking through the account, the password has already been changed twice (source: BPIP) and email was recently changed too [source: Trust page]

Aftering leaving a negative feedback on the account the user tried to act smart by moving the topic to Bitcoin discussion board (source: account's post history) so the evidence of attempt to sell account can be removed since the auction board doesn't offer such privileges. Unfortunately for the user, I have already achieved the thread before he could do that.  Archive link: http://archive.is/oSp1V

I presume the account to be a hacked account until proven otherwise and request for visible negative feedback from DT members should be given to the account.

From his PM there are possible reasons for me to assume this user Marcogwapo is connected to the account somehow since he promised to retaliate and that account has already left a false tag on my account but since I can't prove the accounts to be connected to each other except the fact that, the account has received Smerit from the accused on a deleted post, that'll be a story for another day Grin.
158  Economy / Scam Accusations / Support my flag against Nekoma2018 on: August 07, 2019, 04:59:19 PM
My flag against the user isn't getting enough support to make the flag active and my other attempts to make the flag visible haven't been successful. Here's a full details

And here's the reason I want the user flagged,
Is Nekoma2018 the one who said signatures can be removed? This would be a good reason for a Type 2 or even Type 3 flag.

Based on the statement from @Nekoma2018 on the groupchat, i have come to a conclusion that, he was an accomplice of the deliberate attempt by the team not to pay the participants. First he approved removal of signature after the team have delayed payment of participants so they could disqualify as much participants as possible and denial them payment after successfully promoting project for two weeks. The team have refused to pay the participants and he has admitted to support the decision from the team.

Support my flag on his account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=592

Thank you.

Quick question: why isn't there a notification feature to all DT members each time a flag is created so we don't have to beg for support here and there. This notification can be in the form of a pop up message so they can be alerted about the flag and decide whether to support it or not based on the available information. Just saying.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Preferable exchanges for trading bitcoin, altcoins (generally) and tokens. on: August 06, 2019, 06:41:41 AM
Most individuals only rely on a particular exchange to carryout their trade when they're better options out their. The reasons for such practice could be understandable but at the same time it give power to only selective few platform which make them think they're not replaceable and become dictators of the exchange industry by requesting outrageous fees for new projects listing.

Today, I'll be highlighting different type of exchange which I presume to be the preferable choice for trading coins and tokens of specific blockchain. I'll start from the best exchange for trading bitcoin down to Altcoin (in general) than sperate each of the altcoins based on their blockchain.

Before i go to list the exchanges, I just want to inform the community, exchanges aren't wallet, they shouldn't be used to store cryptocurrency for long term but only used for short term trading. For any platform that holds your private key, you're not the owner of your coin.

The best exchanges include;

[1]: Preferable exchange to trade Bitcoin: Most traders especially the news ones would expect me to list Binance here as it's their favorite exchange but here's is the catch, when Binance presented itself to the trading industry it didn't do so as a bitcoin exchange instead it's was an exchange built to conquer the altcoins market. The best exchange to trade bitcoin is BITTREX EXCHANGE. Bittrex is a US based exchange with a user friendly interface that can be easily understandable by any average newbie and the platform is quite easy to navigate. It's a centralized and regulated exchange that means you might be required to carryout KYC procedure although with it's basic account you can easily trade your bitcoin with a 3 btc maximum daily withdrawal. 160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Litecoin price increase after successful halving of block reward., thoughts. on: August 05, 2019, 11:43:09 AM
Many community users might not be aware of this but Litecoin just successfully completed halving it's block reward at Block 168,000 to produce 12.5 LTC. Before now Litecoin was trading around $93 as the 5th largest trading cryptocurrenc based on Coinmarketcap's market capitalization statistics but currently it's trading at $102 and now the 4th largest trading coin. The question now is, do you think a major catalyst of Litecoin recent success is linked to bitcoin also experience a surge in price (since this has always been the usual from previous record) or this time, it was all due to Litecoin successful halving event?.

What's your thoughts and congratulations to litecoiners on a successful halving event, Bitcoin is up next.
