262  Bitcoin / Legal / Putin sets July deadline for cryptocurrency on: March 01, 2019, 05:20:12 AM
The long story is back, but this time with decisions by President Putin. "The Prohibition Question’" starts in 2016 But soon became confusing and impractical, and the initial draft of the regulatory bill appeared in December 2017’s season finale.
The spring session of Duma "(lower house of the Russian parliament)" is expected to continue until the end of July 2019. Despite the delay in writing the decision, Putin's intervention could speed things up.

the team must surely up their game. After all, what Putin says…

263  Economy / Service Discussion / Bitfinex Recovers Stolen BTC with US Government’s Help and Reimburses Clients on: February 28, 2019, 04:26:28 PM
Good news for some Bitfinex users.

The Bitfinex platform was hacked in 2016 and caused the loss of more than 120,000 BTC, which is worth 72 million dollars.
According to a recent report, the platform, in cooperation with the US government, recovered a small portion of that amount, estimated at 27.7BTC "does not seem big," which will be transferred in cash to accounts of 5,000 customers who were affected by that hacks.

The Chief Financial Officer at Bitfinex, Giancarlo Devasini said that:
“Over two years following the hack of the Bitfinex platform, today we see the results of a clear and robust response strategy and the efforts of the U.S. government. It gives us great pleasure to be able to reimburse the traders that were loyal to us and believed in us at a very difficult time. We would like to thank U.S. federal law enforcement agencies for their ongoing efforts to investigate the security breach and their commitment to seizing and returning stolen assets.”

265  Other / New forum software / Merit isn’t enough, tipping using LN on: February 20, 2019, 01:02:24 PM
When some members create high-quality posts, merits are not enough, they should be supported by some tipping.
LN has made the tipping possible with zero-cost costs.
Some applications have started to adopt this method on Twitter [You Can Now Send Bitcoin Tips Over Lightning on Twitter] and I would love to see this support officially in this forum.

There will be a balance for each user plus a little lightning bolt symbol next to each post, enabling the person to get some tipping using LN.

What do you think about this idea?

Let me know if I need to move this topic.
266  Other / Meta / Welcome "Hardware wallets" Child Board on: February 19, 2019, 09:12:52 PM
Did anyone notice this change? This child board has been added recently, and there have been some changes.

What do you think of adding a section dedicated to the lightning network?
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Google keyboard enables Bitcoin symbol on iOS on: February 19, 2019, 09:57:13 AM
@cs_moderator member of "reddit.com/r/Bitcoin" published a picture from his personal phone explaining that Google's listing Bitcoin symbol "BTC" as the first cryptocurrency to be included.

268  Economy / Speculation / Why I'm Not Ready To Sell My Bitcoins on: February 17, 2019, 09:08:16 AM
Some people are worried about the current situation of Bitcoin price, many of them are afraid of collapse.
the title above does not talk about the present but about an article 6 years ago and let the writer speak:

Earlier today, the price of Bitcoins rose above $27 for the first time since 2011. That represents a doubling of the $13.50 price of Bitcoins at the start of 2013, which in turn, was nearly triple the $4.75 value of Bitcoins at the start of 2012.

Of course, $27 is not an all-time record price for Bitcoins. The record-high price of just under $32 was reached on June 8, 2011. The price then crashed, falling to a low of $2 in November of 2011.

Based on what happened in the past, imagine how the situation will be after 6 years.
Stop worry and just HODLING  Cool Cool.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Fees Can Be Cheaper Depending on the Timezone on: February 16, 2019, 07:52:52 AM
In this new study by Diar, a company based on the analysis of digital currency data[1], stated in its February 13, 2019 edition, that Bitcoin transactions fees charges vary according to the regions in which users live and timezones.

According to the study[2], found that the fees for sending 1 BTC vary considerably during the day, as spending money during the day "UTC" costs far more than spending overnight.
This is different for those living in Australia and Japan.

The graph shows more:
[Fees per Kb More Than Double-Up From 12AM vs 1PM UTC (Sats)]

270  Bitcoin / Legal / Blockchain.io domain owner fights back against Blockchain.com on: February 13, 2019, 08:01:04 AM
Blockchain Luxembourg S.A. & Blockchain (US), Inc. which manages the famous wallet "Blockchain.info," that transferred its domain from "Blockchain.info" to "Blockchain.com", filed a lawsuit[1] in December claiming that Paymium's use of the domain "blockchain.io" violated its infringed BL’s “Blockchain” trademark.

Paymium, SAS, has asked the court to reject the case brought by Blockchain Luxembourg S.A. & Blockchain (US) justified by saying:

The deference standards of Twombly and Iqbal do not obscure the elephant in the room – this lawsuit is an improper grab at trademark exclusivity in the word BLOCKCHAIN, perhaps
the hottest technology buzzword on the planet. While Plaintiffs were prescient and resourceful enough to obtain the domain names blockchain.com and blockchain.info, they may not properly leverage that foresight into an anti-competitive and unearned monopoly in the term.

271  Other / Meta / Update/remove the voting algorithm [Poll Options] on: February 12, 2019, 11:45:59 AM
I do not know what the decision-making mechanism in this forum "except theymos's updates," but voting is still a way to help make decisions.

Is there any update to the voting algorithm "Poll Options" in this forum? Allocated to certain ranks, using merits filters, trust rates.
If there is no point in voting, I suggest removing it.

272  Economy / Currency exchange / [H] BTC [W] GRIN on: February 11, 2019, 09:22:20 AM
It's my first time buying that cryptocurrency. "Maybe the first "BTC to GRIN" conversion in this forum." Cheesy

Currently, I want to exchange 0.002 Bitcoin (BTC) to XX Grin (GRIN) "initial conversion."
And then convert 0.02 Bitcoin (BTC) to XX Grin (GRIN)  "total 0.022BTC".

Conversion based on the conversion tool found here [1].

My grin address: gVvaxMtiUneBK7G349SnaVJGsx2VpgZpZ2CLRmVeFbkR31CjdM3d
I can receive through the file but I prefer address. "PM me for file"

273  Economy / Securities / 1 Year: Bitcoin VS Top Altcoins on: February 10, 2019, 05:22:23 PM
The idea is simple and there may be someone who has preceded me[1], but I would like to know the real value of altcoins "I do not mean shitcoins but serious projects" against BTC with some fun time when investing.

Serious projects are projects with real ideas, not more repetitions such as Ethereum, Monero, and GRIN, especially GRIN. "In fact, I will prepare a full nude wallet in the coming days and invest in that currency."

There will be a Trusted member who reserves 0.01BTC Altcoin "or any value"  and after one year it will be converted back to BTC and analyze the results.
Target cryptos are Ethereum, Monero, and GRIN.

What do you think about this idea? Who is ready to invest?

274  Other / Politics & Society / Arab Spring on: January 25, 2019, 08:35:24 AM
Today marks the eighth anniversary of the Egyptian revolution[1], one of the revolutions of the Arab Spring, a series of anti-government protests, uprisings, and armed insurgencies.
The revolutions began in Tunisia after Mohamed Bouazizi burned himself. Demonstrations spread to the end of the political regime in Tunisia, including Egypt, Libya, Syria, Yemen, and some Arab countries.
Some of these revolutions have turned into armed action, as happened in Libya[2] and now occur in both Syria[3] and Yemen[4].
There are some uprisings that are happening now and are not covered in the media as happens from a popular uprising in Sudan[5].
I wanted to know the opinions of others about the revolutions in the Arab countries and the extent of media coverage in their countries of those revolutions.

275  Local / العربية (Arabic) / هل قرأت الورقة البيضاء للبيتكوين؟ on: January 22, 2019, 09:05:33 AM

276  Bitcoin / Legal / Regulations on the Management of Blockchain Information Services. on: January 12, 2019, 08:41:58 AM
China’s Office of Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued new laws called "Regulations on the Management of Blockchain Information Services." and according to that statement the laws will be in place on February 15.
The purpose of these laws is to stop the anonymous blockchain use and will ask blockchain service providers to register their service types, names, server address, and others. In other words, it is illegal to run a Bitcoin node or any cryptocurrency.
Those who fail to comply with these regulations will be penalized.
277  Economy / Economics / Wash Trading: Markets manipulation on: December 17, 2018, 03:57:48 PM
In the past, there have been concerns about money laundering taking place in the crypto community but there seems to be a new kind of scam happening in what is known as "Wash Trading".
Where the exploiters/investors are buying and selling the same tokens in order to create an imaginary volume or improve the reputation of the platform or exaggerate the values of trading.

According to this report[1], most of Okex’s volume was fake "only 11% was deemed as a real", coinbene was the worst "1% real".

Based on this data over 80% of the CMC top 25 BTC pairs volume is wash traded.

[1] https://www.blockchaintransparency.org/

Wash Trading is a form of market manipulation in which an investor simultaneously sells and buys the same financial instruments to create misleading, artificial activity in the marketplace.
278  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin price Manipulation, the impact of Bitcoin SV. on: December 06, 2018, 08:52:29 PM
I might be wrong but I think the main reason for all this manipulation is the result of the impact of BitcoinSV. I do not know what Craig Wright is doing, but his attempt to ruin BitcoinCash have worked.

The approach that the currency is different from the market "rises at any drop" and today most currencies lose against the profits of it "Bitcoin -2.90% BitcoinCash -13.74% BitcoinSV 16.40%".

24H-Volume is higher, and in the next few hours, it may outperform BitcoinCash "Market Cap: $2,015,757,716  to $1,777,644,354 ".

What do you think?
279  Economy / Economics / G20 & CRYPTOCURRENCIES on: December 02, 2018, 02:57:32 PM
We will regulate crypto-assets for anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism in line with FATF standards and we will consider other responses as needed.

Again, it has been defined as "crypto-assets", but the good thing is that there is an openness to getting to know this technology, although I doubt that there will be any control unless trading in the central platforms is often on the total number of currencies as well as the difficulty of mining.

We will continue to work together to seek a consensus-based solution to address the impacts of the digitization of the economy on the international tax system with an update in 2019 and a final report in 2020.

Perhaps this date has a constructive meaning, as I mentioned above [difficulty of mining].

and finally
“Crypto-assets do, however, raise issues with respect to consumer and investor protection, market integrity, tax evasion, money laundering, and terrorist financing,” the report read. “Crypto-assets lack the key attributes of sovereign currencies. While crypto-assets do not at this point pose a global financial stability risk, we remain vigilant.

What are your ideas?
280  Economy / Web Wallets / Copay version from 5.0.2 to 5.1.0 [Please do not open the app] on: November 27, 2018, 11:06:24 AM
Based on some of the reports in #9346 "`event-stream` dependency attack steals wallets from users of copay", some packages have been modified to load malicious code that can capture users' private keys.
Therefore, anyone who uses the previous versions "from 5.0.2 to 5.1.0" of these wallets should not open or run any of them, nor should be recovered using 12-backup phrases of those wallets.

Our team is continuing to investigate this issue and the extent of the vulnerability. In the meantime, if you are using any Copay version from 5.0.2 to 5.1.0, you should not run or open the app. A security update version (5.2.0) has been released and will be available for all Copay and BitPay wallet users in the app stores momentarily.

Users should assume that private keys on affected wallets may have been compromised, so they should move funds to new wallets (v5.2.0) immediately. Users should not attempt to move funds to new wallets by importing affected wallets' twelve word backup phrases (which correspond to potentially compromised private keys). Users should first update their affected wallets (5.0.2-5.1.0) and then send all funds from affected wallets to a brand new wallet on version 5.2.0, using the Send Max feature to initiate transactions of all funds.
