1  Local / Pilipinas / [Discussion] Image ng Bitcoin sa mga tao on: April 06, 2020, 03:58:47 PM
Hi! I’m into watching videos, documentaries, at films tungkol sa Bitcoin ngayon. Nakita ko ‘tong thread na ‘to: [DISCUSSION] Full Movie that BITCOIN related as a concept

“Highlights on Banking on Bitcoin”

Quote
As of the completion of the film(early 2016), Charlie Shrem is still serving out his sentence at Lewisburg Federal Prison. No wall street executives have served time for the 2008 meltdown. No major bank executives served time for money laundering charges.

Ingat kayo!

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [Discussion] Banking on Bitcoin Documentary Highlights on: March 31, 2020, 10:00:54 AM
Hello! Having a lot of time during this quarantine. I finally got to see the documentary “Banking on Bitcoin”. Here’s the link for those who haven’t watch it yet: Banking on Bitcoin

BANKING ON BITCOIN

Quote
Bitcoin: the decentralized currency of the internet, grabs the attention of a curious public and the ire of the regulators the technology has subverted.
Initial release: 2016 (USA)

I hope you can spare some time in watching this too! The film is a good introduction to Bitcoin, it’s like the history of how this digital currency was created. The film interviews business owners, as well as people who are against it. They also tackle about the controversies and how the public takes it. And it’s been 4-5 years since it was made. I just thought that the topics discussed in the film are interesting to talk about right now. The film brought me to a deeper perception to why Bitcoin has still a long way to go, and why it was struggling to be accepted around the world. I compiled highlights that I have taken from the film. I hope it can make you interested in watching the film too.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • According to Charlie Shrem, co-founder and CEO of BitInstant, Bitcoin is cash with wings, it’s the ability to take a local transaction and do it globally, he believes Bitcoin will overturn the financial infrastructure, it is the largest socio-economic infrastructure the world has ever seen. Eric Voorhees worked as Director of Marketing at BitInstant.

  • Jed McCaleb created Mt. Gox(Bitcoin Exchange site) because he couldn’t buy bitcoin as quickly as he wanted to. However, he was overflowed by the legal risk, he sells it to Mark Karpeles.

  • Zimbabwe is a good example of a government that lost the trust of the people by printing too much money that causes hyperinflation. Those people who experiences government and bank failures are the people who are looking for something new(Bitcoin).

  • 2.5 billion adults around the world doesn’t have bank accounts, Bitcoin has the capacity to take those people in the financial system. A bank in their cell phone and a bank in their pocket.

  • People are looking in sending money globally, Western Union is a way but it is really expensive. Bitcoin is cheaper, easier, and more convenient. Remittances will be one of the big first uses of Bitcoin because they didn’t care about borders.

  • Ron Ulbricht founded Silk Road website. An online drug market in the internet that can sell anything, best known for illegal drugs. The currency use is Bitcoin.

  • Charlie Shrem made a mistake with dealing with BTCking Robert Faiella, he acknowledge that he knew that BTCking is acquiring bitcoins to sell it to Silk Road costumers. Charlie work with the guy, he wrote emails that acknowledge that he knew what BTCking was doing.

  • Founder of Silk Road, Ron Ulbricht was convicted on seven charges including narcotics and money laundering in a manhattan court room. Feds auction 13.5 million dollar’s worth of silk road bitcoins.

  • People now see Bitcoin as a haven for drug dealers. They think Bitcoins are nothing but illegal drugs on the internet. Bitcoin price took a little dip after this event but still goes up.

  • Charlie Shrem was arrested for alleged money laundering because of the Silk Road Case. But for him, its just one customer, and he has thousands of customer.

  • A day after the arrest of Charlie Schem, a bitcoin hearing is held in New york lead by Benjamin Lawsky. The fact finding effort was to propose a license framework for the virtual currency firms operating in New york.

  • According to Eric Voorhees, bitcoin is a battle of ideas and it forces the issue of whether people should be as free in their handling of money as they are free in their handling of speech, religion, or relationship with each other. They said in order for the Bitcoin to go mainstream, you have to let regulators weigh in on it. Lawsky was the one interested in it, he wants to come up with the license for bitcoin companies, he calls it BitLicense.

  • A week after the hearing, 750,000 btc are stolen or lost in Mt. Gox. Which counts about 6% in the total circulation. Mt. Gox files for bankruptcy and blames hackers for the lost of money. The important lesson from this Gox incident is you can't trust a third party for your money. Eric Voorhees said this is the lesson people should learn at the financial crisis but they don’t have seemed to learn it yet.

  • Spring of 2015, Bitlicense finally came out. lot of companies complained that the regulations are too burdensome for them to operate in New York and still make money. Companies would have had to apply for bitlicense if they wanted to engage in digital currency business activity.

Point of BitLicense according to Lawsky:
    1. Make sure there are enough consumer protections.
    2. Make sure we have adequate cyber security.
    3. Make sure that the companies are adequately capitalized so they don’t collapse upon themselves.

  • Lawsky leaves the government and opens a firm to consult Bitcoin companies, navigating the BitLicense application process. Eric Voorhees describes it as the very definition of crony capitalism.

    Quote
Lawsky see a new ecosystem being built(Bitcoin), he said that he will protect the consumers, he built a huge wall around it, then he charge every person who passes the gate.
    -Eric Voorhees

  • Banking system and the financial industry co-opting bitcoin. They are trying to create their own private blockchain where their computers are powering it rather than those anonymous miners, they want control over the system. Eric Voorhees is not bothered by this because he believes bitcoin is decentralized and cannot be controlled no matter who they are or how much money they got.

ENDING STATEMENT

Quote
As of the completion of the film, Charlie Shrem is still serving out his sentence at Lewisburg Federal Prison. No wall street executives have served time for the 2008 meltdown. No major bank executives served time for money laundering charges.

I like how the film explains Bitcoin with its history. It shows how Bitcoin can change the world globally, how dangerous it can be, and why the government and financial institutions are threatened by it. I think the ending statement wants to highlight how unfair it was for Charlie Shrem, and for the Bitcoin community, one mistake and they wanted to end the rising technology. Bitcoin isn't "ony about that". They started to label it as a currency only used for illegal activities. It is just a tiny part of the economy of Bitcoin. It makes me realize what Eric Voorhees said in the film, dollars and other currencies are used for drugs too, it is the "bad guys" who is at fault using it for illegal activities. Money controlled by the governments are problematic too.

Quote
"No wall street executives have served time for the 2008 meltdown, no bankers served time for money laundering charges", but this 23 year old entrepreneur that help established the bitcoin industry, an alternative to government money, is going to jail. While bankers almost destroyed the economy, and none of them got into trouble.

The film makes me wonder if we are still seeing the future the same way the film see it? A lot has happened in 5 years. Anyone who have watched it can also comment their take about the documentary. If there’s anyone who can provide links or updates about the topics tackled in the film, please do so, in that way we can see how Bitcoin developed for the past years!

3  Other / Beginners & Help / Start Learning about Bitcoin while Stuck in Quarantine! on: March 23, 2020, 12:24:18 PM
Hello! I just realized that a lot of us are at home right now due to COVID-19. Many people will see this as a perfect time to learn about Bitcoin. I felt that there are a lot of newbies here silently reading and struggling to understand threads here. Please be patient. I remember it was really hard to comprehend the threads when I was starting. You are trying to be familiar with the website while trying to understand the technical world of Bitcoin.

While it's true that it is your responsibility as a newbie to read and research about Bitcoin. I would still like to share how I started to be interested and "continue" to be interested in learning about it. I believe that it's easy to start learning about Bitcoin, but the hardest part is to continue. The process I've gone through is by reading and by watching Youtube videos explaining about Bitcoin. One advice is start learning it in simple terms. You don't have to push yourself to engage in a discussion right away but it is your responsibility to learn, and this thread is only a guide on where you should start.

This thread is separated into three parts. First, Basic Informative Videos explaing Bitcoin in simple terms. Second, the basic fundamental terms you will always encounter in the discussions. Third, some of the complicated and advance terms in Bitcoin!

I. BASIC INFORMATIVE VIDEOS

If it's hard for you to jump right away in reading about bitcoin. Start with watching informative videos! 99Bitcoins in youtube helps me a lot. It is entertaining, easy to digest videos. Here's a few videos about Bitcoin in Easy terms.

II. TERMS YOU OFTEN ENCOUNTER

Start from the bottom, learn the basic terms that is often use in the discussions. I listed some of the terms that you should know which can help you understand complicated and technical terms.

Volatility - The fluctuation in an asset’s prices is measured by its Volatility. Cryptocurrency prices are notoriously Volatile compared to other assets as dramatic price shifts can happen quickly.

Blockchain - The blockchain is a digital ledger of all the transactions in a particular cryptocurrency ever made. It comprises of individual blocks that are chained to each other through a cryptographic signature. Each time a block’s capacity is reached, a new block is added to the chain. The blockchain is repeatedly copied and saved onto thousands of computers all around the world, and must always match each other. As there is no master copy stored in one location, it’s considered decentralized.

Bitcoin Mining - Bitcoin mining is the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger of past transactions or blockchain. In the process of solving the encryption challenges, the person donating the computer power is granted new fractions of the cryptocurrency.

Cryptocurrency - A form of money that exists as encrypted, digital information. Operating independently of any banks, a cryptocurrency uses sophisticated mathematics to regulate the creation and transfer of funds between entities.

Double spending - Double-spending is a potential flaw in a digital cash scheme in which the same single digital token can be spent more than once. Unlike physical cash, a digital token consists of a digital file that can be duplicated or falsified.

Fiat currency - Refers to money recognized as legal tender by governments, such as the US dollar, pound, Euro and Australian dollar.

Decentralized Applciation - A computer program that utilises a blockchain for data storage, runs autonomously, is not controlled or operated from a single entity, is open source, and has its use incentivised by the reward of fees or tokens.

Liquidity - The liquidity of a cryptocurrency is defined by how easily it can be bought and sold without impacting the overall market price.

Halving - Every time miners approve transactions on the Bitcoin blockchain, they earn Bitcoin. As each block on the blockchain fills up with transactions, a certain amount of Bitcoin enter the marketplace. However, the number of Bitcoin that will ever be created is finite; locked at 21 million. In order to ensure this cap is kept, the amount of Bitcoin earned by miners for filling one block is halved at the completion of that block. This is called Halving, which takes place every four years. For the record, by the year 2140, all 21 million Bitcoin will be in circulation.

ICO (Initial Coin Offering) - In order to raise funds, the creator of a cryptocurrency will put an initial batch of its coins up for purchase. This is an Initial Coin Offering.

KYC - Acronym for “Know your Customer” and refers to a financial institution’s obligation to verify the identity of a customer in line with AML laws.

Whale - A term used to describe extremely wealthy investors or traders who have enough funds to manipulate the market.

In no time, you will be surprised how easy it was to comprehend discussions. This will help you think and engage in a certain topic about Bitcoin. Joining discussion will help you learn more about the crypto world, at the same time you will also easily contribute constructive and quality posts.

III. SOME TECHNICAL TERMS TODAY

Now, you already have a knowledge about bitcoin.  It is now your full responsibility to widen your knowledge in the crypto world. You are now ready to learn about the technical terms. I listed only three technical terms you will often encounter in the discussions today.

Lightning Network - Bitcoin transactions can get slow and expensive, especially during busy times. One of the main arguments why Bitcoin can't be used as medium of exchange is because of how slowly it works, and how expensive it is to send small payments to the network. This is where Lightning Network comes in. Lightning Network is a peer-to-peer system for cryptocurrency micropayments that is focused on low latency, instant payments. They’re typically low cost, scalable and can work across chains, and transactions can be public or private.

The Lightning Network adds another layer to Bitcoin’s blockchain and enables users to create payment channels between any two parties on that extra layer. These channels can exist for as long as required, and because they’re set up between two people, transactions will be almost instant and the fees will be extremely low or even non-existent. It brings new possibilities for Bitcoin to be use as a new payment method.

Here's a video that explained it simply.
What is the Lightning Network? (Explained Simply)
An article for you to easily understand how it works.
What Is Lightning Network And How It Works

Segwit - Segregated Witness fixed an issue called transaction malleability.  Every Bitcoin transaction has three parts: sender, recipient, digital signature (scriptSig). The scriptSig part of Segwit transactions is called the “witness data”. When Segwit transactions are sent to Legacy nodes the scriptSig is stripped. Segwit transactions put the scriptSig at the end. The key is that these “stripped” transactions are still valid transactions on Legacy nodes, which gives us a savings over non-Segwit transactions. This allows more transaction to be approved each time a block of transactions have been confirmed.

Here's a video that explained it simply.
What is Segwit? Segregated Witness Explained Simply

5G Network - 5G is the next generation of mobile broadband that will eventually replace, or at least augment, your 4G LTE connection. With 5G, you’ll see exponentially faster download and upload speeds. 5G and blockchain offer the promise of a potent combination. Blockchain can secure mobile banking networks that will have to secure transactions on a very granular level, while 5G itself will make sure these complex networks don’t strain under the weight of blockchains.

Here's a good read about 5G Network:

Blockchain and 5G: Greatest promise is to transform the developing world

The terms I've included above are only those words I often see in the discussions today. There are a lot of terms in Bitcoin you need to understand. Here's a glossary you can always use: A to Z: The Ultimate Cryptocurrency Glossary

I hope this thread helps you stay interested and have longer patience in learning about bitcoin. If there's a word you want to add, basic or complicated, let us know! Try citing sources or try explaining it in simple terms. Let us all engage in an informative discussion for our newbies out there!

The most common questions regarding Bitcointalk - An FAQ

A - Leave good and valid trust ratings and eventually someone will likely notice you. That's the main way.

Q – Paano ako makakakuha ng trust?

A - I assume that if you're talking about this you will be trading. In which case...just trade. Over time you'll accumulate trust. Never ask for it and don't get annoyed if you don't receive it. It will come, don't worry. If you try to farm trust, the only type of trust you will likely receive is negative trust, however.

Q – Maaari mo bang ilock ang aking thread?

A - Maaari mo naming ilock ang sarili mong thread

Q – Maaari mo bang tanggaling ang aking thread/post?

A - Kung wala pang nakakakita ng iyong thread, pwede mo itong tanggalin gamit ang delete button

Q – Paano ako mag rarank up?

A - Refer to this thread.

14 post = 14 activity = 2 weeks.

Q – Ano ang BBCode/Paano isagawa ang URL/image/etc?

A - BBCode is the most common way to format text on forums, by using tags enclosed in square brackets. Here are the most common tags:

Code:
[URL={url}]text[/URL]
[IMG]{imageLink}[/IMG]
[b]text[/b] > bold
[i]text[/i] > italicisation
[u]text[/u] > underline
[s]text[/s] > strikethrough
[color={hexCode} OR {colorName}]text[/color]

Code:
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

A - Refer to this page.

Q – Paano naituturing bilang spam?

A - Oo pwede mo itong gawin.

NOTE: KUNG MERON PA KAYONG GUSTONG IPABAGO O IPADAGDAG IREPLY NYO LANG PARA MAUPDATE KO ITO. MULI MARAMING SALAMAT!

5  Local / Pilipinas / MOST POPULAR USERS IN THE PHILPPINE LOCAL BOARD on: August 25, 2018, 02:26:34 PM

I just noticed some different behavior in our local board lately (Philippine Local Board) and I need some clarification from Mods why is this happening. Recently, I've read some discussions in my local board saying that "why some of our threads in there are getting locked?", it made me think that, "Yeah why?" . There are several good discussions there and helpful threads that supposed to be open and pinned but they are already locked now and being buried by other nonsense topics.

These are my fellow member's conversation that they also noticed this different behaviour from our local.
As a relatively new member, I have also wondered why some posts that are indeed helpful get locked-- even though I don't really see a reason why. However, the moderators may have their own reasons, but still, I find it weird all the same.
~snip

See, even a Jr. member notice this activity in our local. Thanks for being observant and I hope that all of the members should also observe what's happening in here. ~snip
Hmm, I also noticed this kind of activity in our local section especially some post from theyoungmillionaire, CatchSomeAirdrops, Thirio, yazher and you have been locked causing it to be found in the middle page of our section thus making it hard to find and read. Every day there are lots of new registrants of members here and they tend to ask a question which has been answered a million times, we cannot spoonfeed all the answers they want, that is why it is better to leave all the useful posts open from replies to make it appear always in the 1st - 2nd pages of the local section. Here are some suggestions that might work.
~snip

I don't know who's responsible for this, is it our Local Board Mods? But the question is why locking helpful and good threads? While there are lot of nonsense topics that still open right now. The question is why?

Please @theymos, our local board need some changes and some help. We are already lacking of Merit sources and locking these good threads will be just an additional problem. It is Filipinos long problem there, but no one has the guts to open a discussion here about what is really happening in our local board because they're probably afraid. Well, about our local board's Merit Source, @cwrth is the only member who is capable for the responsibility for now.

theyoungmillionaire is one of the top Merited member from our local board and he/she has contributed a lot in our local, also known as the "Silent Hero" because he/she encouraged and motivated other members to make quality posts using his/her inspiring threads but why even those threads are locked? 2 of the helpful topics I'm talking about are theyoungmillionaire and Thirio's thread and 1 from finaleshot2016 and edsnowangel.

Here are the locked threads and it's up to you to judge whether it's really helpful or not. Take note that these are written in "Tagalog". These are just simple threads but they contains a lot of good information and the discussions are also pretty well. I vote to keep these threads open and pinned Smiley

Locking these threads is also one reason why some of our local board's members missed to read those helpful guidelines. Yeah, our local board already provided all the guides that may help and enlighten our citizens but since they are locked and buried with a lot of trash discussions, it's kinda useless now.

Just check this guy who recently posted in our local board. He/she just realised that there are good discussions and helpful threads in our local, it only means other member didn't know that these threads exist, it's because it is covered with too many trash discussions.

My Mistakes:
1. I didn't know that we have a great topics here at our Local forum na ngayon ko lang na discover at nabasa.
[Filipino Guide] Ang Bitcointalk Merit System
Paano makakaiwas sa SCAM 🔥🔥 WORTH READING 🔥🔥
TOP 5 NA DAPAT IWASAN [Newbies must read it]

There is a possibility that other members might create a new thread about the same topic of these locked threads (which will become a spam), since they're locked and cannot be bumped or not pinned, some members doesn't really have an idea that such threads are existing in our local board.
There's no doubt that soon or later, all remaining good threads in our local will also going to be locked.

I will be expecting answers from anyone especially from Mods and Admin if possible Smiley We really need some changes and help.

I already put this Section into my Ignore Lists "DATI" sa kadahilanang wala akong ibang mabasa kundi puro single line shits na gawa ng mga kapwa ko pinoy, although pinoy ako... I really don't like the way on how they do things around here, PAGPINAGSABIHAN MO, IKAW PA MASAMA... IKAW PA ANG NAGMAMATAAS...
Do not generalize all the people around here in our local because there are few members here who really take the advice to do something better in our forum. In fact, we are inside the forum and everybody has the right to agree or to disagree with you even though you are talking with the same nationality.

Is this the only thread that you see as a useful one? There are lots of useful topics that are created by theyoungmillionaire. Did you not even see his/her posts in our local or any international section in the forum? I noticed that theyoungmillionaire really inspires a lot of filipino members here, their eyes was opened to post something that makes sense. He/she raises the reputation of our Local Section and I admit that theyoungmillionaire really changes the point of view of foreign and higher officials in this community. If theyoung does not exist foreign members will not see that the Philippines is now changing little by little in becoming a QUALITY POSTERS.

I've seen a quite few members here whom I am confident to say that they are the product of the youngs' quality posts. Members like Silent26, finaleshot2016, thirio, you said GDragon, Maus0728 and of course our candidate for merit application crwth. We are now changing, the only thing that we need is the help of our moderators.
It is just because they are the one who really cares about the forum, they have guts to post with some quality. Why not bother giving them merits if each and every one of us agreed that  his/her post is useful. Maybe because they are only people who are capable in contributing for the betterment of our forum. They will not receive merit if their posting has full of shits Grin

I've seen a quite few members here whom I am confident to say that they are the product of the youngs' quality posts. Members like Silent26, finaleshot2016, thirio, you said GDragon, Maus0728 and of course our candidate for merit application crwth. We are now changing, the only thing that we need is the help of our moderators.

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz at https://www.cryptopía.co.nz

Finaleshot2016

Itong guide na gagawin ko is about rigs na pwedeng gawing pang mining ng bitcoin. Kakabili ko lang din kasi ng High-end PC so i learn something special about it kaya naisipan kong mag-share ng idea about mining. All the informations na gusto niyong malaman about mining na andito ay basics.

Ang unang mong kailangan para magkaroon ka ng mining rig ay ang;

Do the simple way here in cryptocurrency.

Another way para kumita ka ng pera is bounty hunting.

Magkano ang budget for mining rigs?

Central Processing Unit -  is the electronic circuitry within a computer that carries out the instructions of a computer program by performing the basic arithmetic, logical, control and input/output (I/O) operations specified by the instructions.

Roll Eyes

Ano ba ang GPU?

A graphics processing unit (GPU) is a specialized electronic circuit designed to rapidly manipulate and alter memory to accelerate the creation of images in a frame buffer intended for output to a display device.

So ang GPU ay mas mabilis at mas magandang gamitin for mining dahil mas mabilis ito magperform ng algorithms para makapag generate ka ng bitcoins.

Mga dapat mong tandaan sa pagbuo ng mining rig;

a) Graphics card

Halimbawa ng GPU;

Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070
Low power draw, high hash rate

Core Clock: 1,506MHz | Memory: 8GB GDDR5 | Memory Clock: 8Gbps

source; techradar

b) Processor

Halimbawa ng Processor;

AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X
The absolute best mining CPU

Cores: 16 | Threads: 32 | Base clock: 3.4GHz | Boost clock: 4.0GHz

source; techradar

It slightly affects the way you run mining pero ang pinakapurpose daw talaga nito is for OS lang. Pero there are informations na nakakaapekto talga 'to, i don't have any information about proci.

c) Power Supply

Halimbawa ng PS;
Corsair RM750x
The best all-around power supply for your needs

Form factor: ATX | Capacity: 750W

source; techradar

550 W is enough na to run 1 GPU pero kung gusto mo pang magdagdag ng GPU atleast 2 or more. I recommend na gumamit ka na ng 750W or 1000W + na.

d) Motherboard

Halimbawa ng MoBo;

Asus B250 Mining Expert
The world's first 19 GPU mining motherboard

Form factor: ATX | GPU Support: 19 | Processors supported: 7th and 6th Generation Intel Core i7/i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron (Socket 1151) | Slots: 1 x PCI Express 3.0 x16, 18 x PCI Express 2.0 x1

source; techradar

It is the output of a hash function and, as it relates to Bitcoin, the Hash Rate is the speed at which a compute is completing an operation in the Bitcoin code. A higher hash rate is better when mining as it increases your opportunity of finding the next block and receiving the reward.

So ayon, the more na mas mataas ang hash rate mas mataas ang makukuwa mong profit sa pagmimina ng bitcoin. Alam naman natin na kapag sinabing rate, it refers about speed kung gaano magcocompute ang iyong GPU ng mga algorithms and computation para magtuloy tuloy ang process mo sa pagmimina.

Syempre after building the mining rig at nakapaglagay ka na ng OS (Operating System), Windows 10 is more recommendable kaysa sa iba.

Ito naman ang mga kailangan mo for your mining rig

a) Updated na drivers and softwares

Example links;
MSI and AMD

b) Mining softwares
After mong matapos i-install ang mga kailangang drivers and other stuffs para mag work ang different devices na iinput mo sa iyong mining rig, proceed ka na sa Mining softwares.

Examples ng mga Mining softwares.

• CGMiner

CGMiner is probably the most popular and extensive bitcoin mining software. It works for mainly FPGA’s and ASICs but downloading an older version (below 3.7.2) of it will allow you to use it for GPU mining as well.

Installing CGMiner is simple. Simply extract the files to your chosen directory and you’re done. We recommend something simple like C:\Cgminer\

If you're using personal PC, pasok ka dito sa CGMiner.
Works on Windows, Linux, and Mac.

• Multi Miner

MultiMiner is a desktop application for crypto-coin mining and monitoring on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. MultiMiner simplifies switching individual devices (GPUs, ASICs, FPGAs) between crypto-currencies such as Bitcoin and Litecoin.

c) Coin Wallet

Diba sobrang common sa atin ang coins.ph na ginagamit nating wallet for Bitcoin, syempre meron ding Ether Wallet for Ethereum and other alternative coins. Ito naman ay iba;

For short, mas malaki ambag mo, mas malaki ang parte mo.

_______________________________________________________________________________ _____________________________________

After mong mabuo lahat ito, you will proceed to Configuration and Optimization ng iyong mining rig. Syempre coding na ang kailangan mo doon. If ever na may interesado about sa bitcoin mining, kindly PM me at telegram for more basic informations. Although, di naman ako kagalingan about bitcoin mining, I tried my best to make a basic tutorial and knowledge about Bitcoin mining.

There are many tutorials naman about coding and configs in youtube, mas better kung manood nalang kayo para ma-set niyo yung mining rig niyo into solo mining or miner sa mining pool. Thank you sa mga nagbasa 'til the end of the content, If ever maraming feedback i would like to continue and study about the configuration para mas madami akong matulungan na gusto din mag mining bukod sa bounty hunting.

Note: This is just a basic knowledge about bitcoin mining, I'm not a professional but i have ideas na pwedeng pwede ko I-share sa inyo so ginawa ko 'tong topic. If ever na may alam din kayo about bitcoin mining, Please develop and spread the knowledge on this thread para ma-avoid ang mga shitposting sa ating local. Thanks!

I've been saving this somewhat guide for a while now since i am not sure where to put this. I also thought that posting this would increase the number of merit related thread in the Meta section, another reason why i'm hesitating about this. But here goes.

We all know that the only way to get a merit is by hoping for others to give us some, provided that we produce quality posts. Some people believe that they're making quality posts but can't reckon why they don't receive any merits.

Although I don't have much, but surely I have been blessed than most by some members and now I want to pay it forward. I have started from the bottom just like most of you that's why I want to help those who are clueless on what to do.

This is what I usually consider when posting and replying to threads, three easy and simple things to consider when posting. This may be common-sense but I hope this helps.

Steps:

1. Pick a topic.

Picking a topic to post on to may be the hardest part in the guide but any topic of your choice will do! I usually pick topics that are fresh(post that have few views and replies). Why? Because it would be an advantage if you answered the topic first, there would be no restraints and you can freely say what you want to say. Replying to the thread would be like a plain canvas waiting for unlimited possibilities. Picking an old topic is not quite bad either, especially if the topic is really interesting, but replies would be limited since most of the ideas are already laid off, including what you may be thinking and if this is the case, better not reply anymore and just pick another topic since this would just cause spamming of threads.

In addition, if you picked a fresh topic, people who are viewing the thread will see your reply on top plus it won't be burried with tons of incoming replies. Thus, giving your post a safe and sweet spot for any credit-giver.

2. Know the topic.

Question: Do you know the topic?
If yes: Good! Proceed to step 3.
If no: Research on the topic or go back to step 1.

Researching about the topic doesn't just mean reading an article or two, it can also be(but not required) watching videos about the topic or viewing some infographic about it. Anything goes as long as you understand and learn something new. If you think you're knowledgable enough to answer then proceed to step 3.

3. Answer the topic.

After researching, with your own words, try to answer the topic. Remember that answers may be short or long, it need not to be technical nor scientific. It just need to be clear, concise, and most of all sensible for everyone to understand. And don't even think about plagiarizing an article saying that you've made a good post, because people read, and if people noticed that you just copy/pasted an article then be ready for the consequences. Are you really trying to risk your account for some merits? Merits can be earned anytime but activities, reputation, and trusts takes time.

Now that you have answered the topic, be confident on what you have wrote and try not to think much about receiving merits. Continue on doing quality posts and im sure, little by little, people would notice and reward you for that. That would be all, thank you and godspeed!

Simply because they think that earning cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin can make their lives easy and wealthy. They are the type of people who only care about themselves ignoring all things in their working place. Due to the commercialization of this forum lots of lazy people are thriving here because they think that they can earn a penny easily, unfortunately, it's not. It is sad to think that they the victim of their own crime.

The best way to do now is to let them abuse their Merits because I'm pretty sure that not too long, they will face their punishments. If you guys see anyone abusing Merits, it is much better to create a thread in reputation section about the abuse. What important for now is YOU guys are NOT abusing anything.
The time will come that they are going to decrease in just a short period of time. People like you who really stands for the betterment of the forum are really big help in finding these noobies.

Only you and Dabs are the only two respected members who can act as a Merit Source for Philippines Section for now so please, I'm sure that these people who were doing good won't become your pain in the head even though they ranked up. That's why I'm asking to you to award these people's effort for creating good contents with some Merit which they deserved Smiley
Agreed, we actually have one respected Filipino member who is applying as a merit source for our local board, If I am not mistaken he's/her BCT account name is crwth. If he/she is accepted, I think that our local will be a much better community. I think that if we have a more merit sources lots of Filipino members will be inspired to post with such quality because they will get worried if there are some member who really cares about their post. It is an amazing feeling if you received merit from other members because you can to yourself that there are some people who really appreciate your contribution even if they are small. It's just my opinion by the way. Let's prove them that we can communicate to them in such a good manner and prove that we can give contributions for the betterment of the forum
Am I the only who noticed that when someone posted some nice/ helpful/ high quality post, people are just ignoring it? But if someone posted something regarding shit talks here it easily becomes a spam thread. It's just my point of view tho Grin

Pero ang mag-isip for the betterment, mahirap bang magisip?  Huh
This is so sad for us Filipinos and it is somehow ironic. Ngayon pa lang masasabi ko na they don't really have any interest in reading these kinds of high quality post simply because they just do not care about the moderation suggestions that needs to be implemented in our local. Maybe because lots of Filipino member's account are created since before the merit system was implemented leading them to handle multiple high ranked accounts making them think that fulfilling quota post per day are just enough in order to get money coming from bounties. Since they are not affected when merit system has been implemented, they just post without realizing that they are affecting the quality of the forum.

It's  ironic and funny to think that lots of Filipino are being butthurt because of the treatment of people from other countries. Ang lakas magreklamo pero yung sarili hindi magawang mabago, they become butthurt when someone said that they post only for bounties but even themselves cannot change to how they post.

As for the Locked Topics

We need to communicate with our mods in order to clarify these things up. As per joniboni suggestion this might be a good work for our local to avoid making redundant posts and stop asking question that have been answered a thousad time. I am willing to list all the important and must read topic here in our local.

For crwth "Merit Application"

We are in a scarcity status of merits and I've seen a lot of post that has not been merited even a single one. I am sure that when someone merited these  people it will fuel up their minds and it will also serve as an eye opener that these forum is appreciating their kind little effort in contributing for the betterment of the forum. If you mind bumping crwth application every 2 days is enough.

Here are some tips to help you.

Karaniwang bitcoin scam
Source : https://cointelegraph.com/news/beware-4-typical-bitcoin-scams-in-mining-investment-wallets-exchange

1. Bitcoin Investment Programs:

BABALA: HACKERS TARGET ANDROID PHONES FOR MINING THROUGH APPS

ANONG MAAARING GAWIN LABAN DITO?

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto as a "GOOD COMPETITOR" on: March 01, 2018, 07:27:45 AM
J.P Morgan said that “Both financial institutions and their non-banking competitors face the risk that payment processing and other services could be disrupted by technologies, such as cryptocurrencies, that require no intermediation."

As my conclusion, banks realized that the real competitor(crpyto) giving a good challenge and starting a big threat for them and he also added that “put downward pressure on prices and fees for JPMorgan Chase’s products and services or may cause JPMorgan Chase to lose market share." which means that they are now starting to panic and do some movement to think how they can exceed expectation of all better than crypto. As a recognized competitor, it is a very good news for me. What's up to you?

10  Other / Meta / Multiple common topics on: February 25, 2018, 11:36:06 AM
Maybe some of you are fully aware in what happening within this forum. Creating informative topic is ok but creating topic the same with the previous post is not. This scenario can limit the knowledge of a reader especially for those newbie. It is irritating me,  you are like eating the same food everyday.

I also find out that if your common topic answered by several people, it will be counted as a new topic. Do you think it is "new" ?maybe before you will do  a new topic,  try to search first then if it new or unique enough then go.

For those people whose always guide newbie to find their question to the previous topic and to make end the redundant post, I salute you
