1  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] SetEscrow - Secure escrow for the cryptocurrency world on: March 31, 2016, 01:56:50 AM

So we are launching a new public beta for a website called SetEscrow.com, thought we would invite the Bitcointalk community. The last time we had a beta, we ended up with CoinPayments, so if you liked that, I hope you will enjoy this new project.

What is SetEscrow?
A user powered, reputation based, platform for users to easily and securely create escrow transactions on demand.

3 Easy Steps To Use

Step 1
  • Create Escrow
The buyer or seller clicks the Create Escrow Transaction button in the menu and enters the transaction information and options. Registered users save 0.15% on escrow fees and build their trust score to inspire confidence in future transactions.

Step 2
  • Review Terms
The buyer receives an email inviting them to the escrow. Once they review the escrow settings they send the coins if they agree to the terms of the transaction. At the same time the seller receives an email with a link to monitor the status of the escrow transaction.

Step 3
  • Complete Transaction
Once funds are received the seller ships the product or performs the service, etc. The buyer then has an inspection period to receive and inspect the product. If they are satisfied they release the funds to the seller or if there is a problem they can raise a dispute instead.
For full details on the dispute process see our detailed help section.

FAQ:

How does this service work?

The buyer or seller clicks 'Create Escrow Transaction' and fills out the required entries.

From there, the buyer has X days to send the required funds for the transaction. Once the funds are received, the seller is notified and will ship/send/release the product or service the buyer purchased and the 'inspection period' has begun. (When setting up the transaction, make sure to leave enough time for shipping as well.)

When the buyer receives their product/service they will either click 'Release Funds' if they are happy with the purchase to send the funds to the seller or they can click 'Start Dispute' if there is a problem. If the buyer doesn't click either option the escrow will time out after the configured number of days and release the funds to them automatically.

How are disputes handled?

The buyer and seller will both provide testimony and evidence (pictures, tracking numbers, etc.) for their case. A panel of 3 judges will decide the outcome of the case which may be:
  • a) refunding the funds to the buyer
  • b) releasing the funds to the seller
  • c) a 50/50 split
  • d) in the rare case a decision can't be reached, the funds will be released to a 501(c)(3) registered charity of our choice and the transaction ID published on this website.

What are the fees?

The number of days determines the escrow fee, they are as follows:

1-3 days: 0.40%,
4-9 days: 0.65%,
10-21 days: 0.90%
22-30 days: 1.05%
22-30 days: 1.05%
30+ days: 1.15% + 0.5% per month.

You can save 0.15% if you have an account, and are logged in.

Multiple Coins
We support a number of crypto coins for escrow transactions, current list is:

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Coin Payments Coin Vote on: January 03, 2014, 06:15:30 PM
We are having another vote. Depending on the outcome of the numbers of the vote, that will determine what will be added. The votes candidates come from the requests we get via Request Page. This thread vote will be locked till Monday, so people can still request coins not on the list. Monday vote will be unlocked, and the vote will run for maybe a week. There will be no late requests taken.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Multi Cryptocoin Payment Processing [Coin List Vote #3] on: December 07, 2013, 04:56:01 AM
Another vote to add 3 or 4 coins to out current system. Depending on the outcome of the votes we will see if its 3 or 4.
Posting this notice, then locking the votes till Sunday. So if there is a coin you want to vote for that isn't on the list, please contact us before Sunday. The purpose of this vote is only for the addition of coins to the CoinPayments system. This is not a popularity contest, so vote according to what coin you'd like merchants to possibly use as a payment. We can not guarantee that any store will accept any, all, or no coin, that is strictly up to the store.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Multi Cryptocoin Payment Processing [Coin List Vote #2] on: October 12, 2013, 10:57:13 PM
Straight to it, our system has been doing well, and we have been getting a steady stream of transactions. Its not as much as we would like to release out of this working beta. So we would like to bring another vote to the community. Last time we were able to add a few coins, and the end result was more stores started to use our system for their online stores. So again we will add a few coins. Whats a few? Well we were able to upgrade the servers enough for us to add 5 coins from the community vote, and one on our behalf, of our choosing. This makes a total of 6 coins...

So far we have gotten requests for more than 10 coins, only half of these will be added due to the vote. If you wish to vote for a coin that is not listed, please contact me via pm or reply here. The actual voting will begin MONDAY October 14th 2013 this is so everyone can read this, and so we can give every coin a fair chance, as well as any coins we have not added to the vote a chance.

Please take a few things into consideration. We do not care about how many coins have more coins in existence, or the actual value of the coin vs BTC, or the market value cap... This is purely a vote on what coin you as an individual, would use to buy goods from supported stores. We also discourage any paid voting, we can not prevent or control this, but it will be looked down upon.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Multi Cryptocoin Payment Processing [Coin List RE-Vote] on: September 02, 2013, 01:12:16 AM
This is the vote redo with a clean slate, as well as the removed coins have all been added to the vote. Time to shine. You each have 5 votes.
Please keep the disagreements and arguments to an minimum. This is a public vote, so it will speak for itself. We don't want to keep the poll up for long, and with the recent high volume of response we probably wont have to. Maybe a week tops. We want to keep supporting the coins that we can as much as we can. Thank you for bearing with us as we make all these adjustments to better suite the community needs.

If you feel your coin or store can benefit from this please let us know we can add you to the vote or work with you on your system.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Multi Cryptocoin Payment Processing [Coin List Vote] on: September 01, 2013, 02:10:57 AM
As of 9/1 we will be removing the follow coins:
PPC - WDC - XMP

Why?
Due to the lack of transactions and support, they are just killing resources. We want to improve the usability of the Coin Payments system. We don't want it to come down to removing coins, but the demand is not meeting the supply. You do have to remember, even as well as Coin Payments is working right now, we are still in Beta.

Oh snap! Are you going to remove our coin too?
Hopefully not, at least not yet, this is still a beta. We want to eventually accept every coin possible.

So now what?
We will continue to support the other 13 coins as we have before.
BTC, LTC, DVC, CGB, BQC, FTC, IFC, KGC, NMC, NVC, ORB, RED, TRC, STR (Updated 8/31)

What about ___, its not in the poll option, support ___!
Ok, just reply with what we are missing, we will ad it to poll. This is your vote. Smiley

Now we have removed the 3 coins, we wanted to add one we wanted to add, before the resources limit was met. But we wanted to let the community decide on the other two. So here's your chance.

Also STR has been suspended till its fixed - Link
17  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Game Codes on: August 26, 2013, 09:01:15 AM
So I have maybe 4 or 5 of each game...

Far Cry 3, Far Cry® Blood Dragon, Tomb Raider & BioShock Infinite steam codes...

Wanting to sell or trade... The only game I'm interested is Sim City, looking at the Mac version coming out soon...

If you want to buy, just let me know a reasonable offer, we can trade.

There are APIs designed to be simple and provides a polled interface or Instant Payment Notification (IPN). If you have ever programmed for PayPal(tm)'s IPN system it is just as simple.

How does it work?

  • Via a button or link on your site your customers are directed to our checkout page.
