1  Other / Beginners & Help / Wallet cleaned out on: July 09, 2015, 05:31:37 PM
I've been away for about a month.  Most of my equipment was idle during that time.
I had my bitcoin-qt wallet open. I just changed batteries out in my mouse on that machine and I noticed a transaction on the 7th that drained my wallet.
I have no idea how it happened.  I'm lost.

I had btc spread over 4 different addresses.
They were all drained, so, I know it was from this computer or from a backup of this wallet.
But, I can't figure out how.

I have a passcode on the wallet.
So, someone would have gotten access to my computer remotely, or in person.
And, gotten my passcode somehow to transfer this out.
Both are pretty unlikely.

I'm so confused.

4  Economy / Services / Devloping web application - looking to contract some PHP / Drupal work on: March 04, 2015, 12:50:15 AM
I'm doing some proof of concept experimentation with a web application.
I'd like to find someone to write some function into a drupal environment.

Early stuff will be very light and basic.
After I have a better project scope, it will be more intensive.

Both Trust and discretion is important.
Feel free to PM me your terms.

6  Economy / Games and rounds / [SOLVED] Interrogate a Killer - Win BTC - Sheriff, Swamp, Machete on: December 31, 2014, 10:12:54 PM
Intro:  It's a game.  You interrogate the killer.  Prize starts at 0.1 BTC - Each question costs 0.001 off the prize

Who: was killed.
How: they were killed.
Where: the body was left.
(Clue type answers)

The killer can only lie once.
The killer will always plead the fifth on direct "where is the body" "who was the victim" or "who was killed" questions.
You must wait until someone else asks a question before asking a new question.
Only one question will be answered from all of the questions between rounds. (Each round will be as often as I check this thread)

When you know;  String your three answers together in one response.
The first response that matches my answer (exact words, any order) you win.
(xxxxx, xxxxx, xxxxx)

10  Economy / Securities / Gauge of interest - looking to raise 25 BTC in January for inventory on: December 03, 2014, 03:06:21 AM
In 2014, I spent $104,565 on hardware and materials for resale.
My margins are around 30% on resale.  Very little overhead - because hardware sales is just a necessary part in this service industry.
In 2015, I'd like to increase my inventory and have more of the essentials on hand.

This is a well established real-world business that has an excellent track record with growth & customer service.
I am keeping certain details private to the general public, but investors will be privy to details.
My accountant instructed me to open a line of credit for this upcoming year, but I'd prefer to pitch it here first. (being the bitcoin activist that I am)

I'll keep this thread open for 2 weeks, to gauge the level of interest.
If I get enough interest, I'll construct terms that will spell out better details.
The idea is in its infancy, but in a nutshell I'd like to create a bitcoin security to finance an expansion in inventory.

Please let me know if you might have interest in getting involved in my IPO.

15  Economy / Lending / Ideas for bitcoin LOC on: October 06, 2014, 10:05:44 PM
I'm taking a $50k line of credit out this week to help with business cashflow.
Most of loans have a return of capital between 30 and 90 days.

Before I turn in my paperwork, I started thinking about how a LOC would work with bitcoin and I couldn't think of anything that didn't include a bank-like entity.

I could probably get a number of investors to put up the bitcoin in a pool.
When I needed to place an order, I could exchange to cash and make my purchase.
Around 30 days later, I get paid and rebuy the bitcoin, to make the fund whole.
I make an interest payment to the investors every 30 days for the amount used during that time.

The bank doesn't need to part with the actual funds when they have an open line.  It's just a value in a table.
How would bitcoin accomplish the same thing?

I'm just thinking aloud.
I know smart people out there have given thought to banking/bitcoin analogs.

16  Economy / Services / Taking 2 days off - Paying 0.015 BTC to message me on: October 01, 2014, 12:18:48 AM
If something actionable happens with AM, I need a private message letting me know to come back and check things out.
Word from Friedcat.
Paid dividends.
New hardware release.
Anything that would alter the havelock price up or down, I'd like to know about it.

Any takers?

18  Bitcoin / Pools / ZERO blocks discovered on: September 22, 2014, 09:44:46 AM
Honestly,  I have a speech prepared for finding my first block.
However, I've been mining on pools for 2 years and never discovered one.

I look at every block discovered like the 3rd string punter looks at his Superbowl ring.

Just one before I die.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / DVC on: September 13, 2014, 04:07:47 PM
I had no idea what DVC was until I tried the GHash pool.
Is there anyone using this coin?
Is it dead?

Just curious, I don't see much about it anywhere.
20  Bitcoin / Mining support / Electricity math on: September 13, 2014, 10:38:52 AM
I'm looking at a new place for the winter to house some additional mining equipment.
The owner sent me data on the current wiring and since I am terrible at the math, I need help figuring this out.

There are four 240v lines on 50a breakers.
This will support around 10,000 watts?

If I run 1000watt power supplies, and I want to run 10 miners on each line, would I be better off having individual outlets run or a PDU?
