1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Do you know of an Android bitcoin widget with a ring tone alert? on: March 01, 2021, 01:57:24 AM
Can't believe this is so difficult to find. I've downloaded several bitcoin apps (Bitcoin ticker, Blockfolio...etc) and all their price alert suck! Bitcoin ticker straight up doesn't alert and doesn't have sound alert. Blockfolio sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, plus no sound alert.

I'm looking for a widget which I could set an alarm in, and be able to choose the alarm tone...basically similar options to when setting the alarm clock. And if this app has real time prices widget then I'll bake them a cake!
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / What's your favorite Bitcoin app? on: February 16, 2021, 06:08:01 PM
I few days ago I posted, asking if there was a feature which would automatically buy and sell at a rate only if the rate had gone up by a predetermined percent from that rate - so for example, if the set rate was $45,000, it would buy at $45,000 only after the rate had passed $45,000 by at least %10, which in this example would by $49,500.

I couldn't find anyone offering such feature. Now I'm wondering if there is an app which could simply just give a notification/alarm.

In my quest for such an feature, I've come across apps that claim straight profits (e.g. Pionex) by 'setting and forgetting'. Has anyone had any experience with such apps?

So basically just here for opinions and discussions on this.
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Is there a limit-stop-limit? on: February 14, 2021, 09:52:18 AM
Let me explain...

Let's say btc is at $45,000 right now. I want to buy it at this rate. Let's say I want to buy 1 btc. BUT...I want to buy it only after it had increased to $50,000. Meaning, it would have to go up to $50,000 and then back down to $45,000 in order for the order to trigger.

So basically a stop-limit but in order for the stop to start, the rate would have to first go up a certain percent from the stop. Because if I set a stop-limit right now for $45,000, and the rate right now is fluctuating around $45,000, the stop would trigger as soon s it hits $45,000 from lets say $45,100, correct? I want it to trigger from $50,000.

Is there such feature (or concept) in Binance?
4  Economy / Trading Discussion / What does the limit in a stop-limit do? on: February 12, 2021, 10:26:04 PM
When selling, if the stop is 31,100 and the limit is 31,000, isn't it going to try to fill as soon as it reaches 31,100? What's the 31,000 for? And what happens when it gets below it before the order fills?
5  Bitcoin / Project Development / Looking for an Android widget that displays "real-time" rates on: February 11, 2021, 02:29:47 PM
Best I could find is one that refreshes every 30 seconds. I'm looking for one that will show live real-time market price - similar to what you would see on Binance for example in the trading window. If the widget could always stay on top (no mater what window is on the foreground), that would be awesome. And if I can be picky, it would show an hourly chart too. Any leads?
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / How much would you say one could realistically make a month trading? on: February 08, 2021, 03:50:05 PM
If doing it full time, starting from let's say $10,000 to play with, and btc being in between the same volatility now and how it was about a year ago when it was at around 6k..what could you net a month, realistically?

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / How many ways are there to buy USDT with BTC on Binance? on: February 08, 2021, 01:47:58 PM
What's the cheapest way? Is it true "convert"? "trade"?
9  Bitcoin / Electrum / Where does Electrum save the transaction file?? on: February 06, 2021, 09:40:59 PM
When creating an unsigned transaction, clicking "save" gives you a pop up msg saying the it saved in the wallet instead of the choice of where to save it? Is this something new? Where is the file??

11  Bitcoin / Electrum / Linux live USB (non-persistent) vs Tails? on: February 06, 2021, 06:26:59 PM
Which would you say is more secure for online wallet? What about offline...no difference?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you think about exchanging your bitcoin for stablecoins? on: February 06, 2021, 08:45:45 AM
Do you recommend it? Why? Why not? Which stablecoin do you recommend on Binance?
13  Economy / Web Wallets / Binance vs Electrum - safety concerns. on: February 06, 2021, 06:37:15 AM
1) Does Binance let you keep your keys? Or are they like a coinbase?

2) Should the safety concern in regards to your private keys being stolen/compromised be as high as it it with say a wallet like Electrum?

3) If they don't let you keep your keys, isn't the up side to that that your crypto is not as easy to steal?

4) What safety precautions should one follow when using Binance?

5) If they implement a 2FA when sending your crypto, doesn't that mean that your funds can never be stolen without getting the pass code they send you to verify the transaction?

Reeeally appreciate your expertise in this guys!
14  Economy / Exchanges / Binance questions on: February 04, 2021, 12:14:29 PM
1) Do they let your trade without KYC? What's the requirement like for their .com? I heard you can trade 5,000 worth of BTC a day without the need to KYC? Is this still the case?

2) If so, then is it something that they say but later freeze your account with KYC demands even though you kept it under 5k and you didn't break their rules? I mean, sure it "could" happen, but is it common with them?

3) What are the requirements to do so - name, phone number, email only?

4) Can you trade as soon as you sign up (no KYC level)? How long is the signing up process? Does it require approval? Can you sell directly to them?

5) Do they need KYC to withdraw?

6) Is it safe to get referral codes from strangers and use it to sign up?

Thanks all!
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Which USD-pegged stablecoin is the 'safest'? on: February 04, 2021, 08:19:27 AM
Notice I'm asking 'safest', not guaranteed. If there is a lion, a tiger and a jaguar, it's technically OK to ask which is the safest. Cz if all in the group are not equal, then you can use a superlative. So plz, no "there is nothing safe in the crypto world" type answers as there usually tends to be in these types of questions detailing the thread Wink

Now that that's out of the way...

If I'd like to 'lock in' the rate by selling bitcoin to a USD stablecoin and take my time to sell that stablecoin to fiat,
which should I go with?
16  Economy / Exchanges / Does Binance trip about using a VPN? on: February 02, 2021, 01:57:08 PM
Like some other platforms do. Is it against thier terms and conditions? Could it cause account termination?
17  Economy / Exchanges / Risks selling to a government regulated btc exchange place? on: January 30, 2021, 10:27:17 AM
So a company has outlets around the city that buys bitcoins. You send them the bitcoin to an address they give you. They hand you the cash. The address they give you is generated just for you. You get several text messages to confirm - I think the fist of which is to show the clerk - and then they give you the cash. I asked them if I could send them the bitcoin from home since I want to do an unsigned transaction from my cold storage and they said yes.

My concern is, how safe is that? Could they deny getting the bitcoins when I go to the outlet to collect the cash? Could the address be traced back to them if want to complain at the governing body?

Any insight into this would be hugely appreciated!
18  Economy / Trading Discussion / When trading and wanting to automatically sell when it reaches a certain rate... on: January 29, 2021, 11:05:27 AM
Is it guaranteed to sell at that rate?

Let me explain...

Say I want to sell 1 btc when the rate reaches $35,000. It is now $32,000. I believe it's called a "stop loss order"? Correct me if I'm wrong. Would it automatically sell at that rate when it reaches it, or does it depend on if somone is willing to buy or not, and it might not sell if there are no buyers? If that's the case, is there a method or a platform where it would automatically sell (similar to how you would sell on coinbase) when it reaches a predetermined rate?
19  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / What risk is there creating a cold storage on a public computer considering... on: January 21, 2021, 03:17:47 AM
1) I'm using a Linux non-persistent live USB.

2) I'm disconnecting the ethernet cable from the computer after downloading Electrum.

3) No one can see the screen.

This would be to create an Electrum wallet and fund using the unsigned method

Also...which would be more secure for the purpose of above...Linux live non-persistent USB...or...Tails?
20  Bitcoin / Electrum / How can I move bitcoins to a new address safely? on: January 20, 2021, 02:41:08 PM
I'm sure the answer is obvious but I just want to run it by you guys just in case.

Would it be to create a new Electrum wallet, pick an address from the list and then do an unsigned transaction?
