Disclaimer: This isn't a commercial project so please don't ask me about ROI, build budget etc - I wasn't taking that into consideration at all, just doing it for fun as I like to build stuff. I doubt the money I spent were spent wise LOL. However, I know there are folks around who run watercooled rigs so advice, tips and healthy criticism are always welcome. It's hot where I live. Hot and humid all year round. So when I saw memory temperatures on my small 3080 rig started climbing up it was time to do something about it. Thermal pads replacement and more fans didn't really help much, cards worked stable but constantly seeing 98-104C temperatures bothered me a lot. Then I bumped into a youtube video where some guy ran 8 or 10 cards rig, watercooled, and was quite happy with results, so that was it, I decided to give it a go.  Major objectives apart from lowering the temps: - Reliable - Serviceable and as much modular as I can do, without the need to drain the whole system every time I add or change something. - Relatively compact - Ability to move radiators to the outside of the house if I ever decide to do so. Then I started looking at what's available, I never built custom watercooling loops before. Here's what I ended up buying: - EK Pro distribution block, https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-pro-manifold-2cpu-4gpu-acetal, allows to connect up to 7 cards. I plan to run 6 or 7 3080s in this rig. - Koolance quick disconnect couplings like this one, https://koolance.com/qd3-ms10x16-bk-quick-disconnect-no-spill-coupling-male-for-10mm-x-16mm-3-8in-x-5-8in-black- 420mm x 45mm radiator, a friend also gave me another 280mm x 300mm radiator - Plenty of 140mm fans - 10x16mm tubing - XSPC D5 pump with reservoir (also from a friend) plus an XC600 pump as a backup to be connected in series - Flow indicator, temperature sensor, fittings etc etc. Sourcing waterblocks was challenging - 3 cards I had in the beginning of this project were all different brands, so I ended up buying 2 EKWB Quantum Vector blocks and a Bitspower one. Having all that ordered it was time to think of a frame for all this. My usual 20x20 aluminum extrusion rig frames weren't of much use, it would take a lot of effort to mount all the stuff on them, so I ended up looking at wire racks as they give more mounting options. Bought one of those and then designed and 3D printed mounting hardware for it. This is what I came up with -  I wanted all cards and PC components to be above water loop to minimize potential damage in case of leaks etc, so PSUs, switches etc will be on the top, motherboard is side mounted and all the watercooling equipment will take middle and bottom levels. Here is what middle shelf looks like with motherboard on the side.  Designed and printed radiator mounts and fitted them between middle and bottom shelves. Undo 3 screws and easily remove/relocate both of them, or add another one. so Iа I want to disconnect and move them to the outside it'll be relatively easy.  That's it for now, I started servicing and mounting waterblocks on my cards today, will continue this thread once that is done. As I said before, thoughts, advice etc are welcome. |

Disclaimer: I'm not saying we're in it already, nor I'm saying opposite. Just thoughts.
I was kinda curious and attempted to search historical price data for 2013, 2014, 2017 and now. Most sites (even respected ones) don't reflect absolute correct numbers, so if yours differ please don't rub it in too hard LOL. I was hoping to find some sort of proportion basing on past pumps, but the numbers I came with are rather chaotic, maybe someone else will have thoughts on this, too.
So:
2013: 13.5 => 182 = 70 Grow x13 fall x2.6
2014: 120 =>1019 => 201 Grow x8.5 fall x5
2017: 826 => 19499 => 3232 Grow x24 fall x6
Sep. 2020-21: 10245 =>64800 =>?? Grow x6.3 fall ??
At this point I failed to find any proportions to base estimates on (apart from the fact that X low > X-1 high). What do you think?
[Edited] If 64800 isn't going to be a new ATH and bitcoin will go higher then it's two unknown values, makes it even more interesting for a mathematician.

Being quite sarcastic with the topic name, but this is what I constantly hear since 2017 when I first got into mining. Just remembered it again today when my finance calculator told me I've reached the ROI for one of 2 3080 cards I bought in mid-March for $2200 each. This brought a huge smile to my face  |

Over the last week I've noticed my daily "estimated earnings" gone down 25%. My hashrate remains the same and stable. Is anyone else experiencing this and what might be the cause? 25% is a lot.

Out of the box card was throttling after 10-15 minutes (overclocked, of course) and hashrates dropped from 89-92 to 72-75Mh/s. It took me a while but eventually I found a post on Reddit where pictures with exact pad sizes were shown. So I ordered Thermalright 12.8 Wm/k pads and changed everything. It turned out not all information was correct so I replied with my corrections on Reddit and decided to also publish it here for future reference. Pictures and my corrections are below. The pad attached to your main radiator (100x10mm, 2mm thick) wasn't touching and I ran out of 3mm pads, so just added another 1mm strip on top of it. Front without heatsink: changed the one on inner radiator to 300 or it wasn't touching. Backplate: My card has 0.5mm thermal pads covering capacitor rows. I've changed these strips to 1mm. After 2 days of testing: card sits in a rig, PL70 mem+1050, core -500, 92.5 Mh/s, 238W, fans at 75% and the rig itself has extra fans. Core temp is 56C which is a bit higher than I expected, probably MX4 paste isn't that great, Zotac Trinity sits next to it with same settings and runs 3C cooler. Thermal pads I used were Thermalright, 12.8 wm/k. Can't check mem junction temperature as I run Linux system. Note: I live in tropics and day temperatures are quite high. UPD: managed to get it to 100MH/s with PL70, core 1100, mem 10550 (absolute readings), fans 80% 238W. No throttling so far, core is 50C. |

I've searched the forum but there's almost zero information about those. Does anyone have experience using ColdCase, Donnager, CoolBox or analogs? I live in tropics so keeping my cards both cool and dust/insects free is my target. With open rigs I have to weekly remove spider nets, dust, sand etc.

Guys can anyone please provide a string sample for ccminer setting OC and PL for 2+ cards? I'm trying this -b mem-clock=0 gpu-clock=1880 plimit=250W , doesn't seem to work. How to set it up correctly?

Today for the first time I looked inside my own reputation section and was surprised to find a comment there left by somebody around half a year ago. The irony of it is that I was being accused of being a scammer dev of Vega coin, whom in fact I was one of the first people to expose to community (which would become obvious to anyone who would read the entire thread). Now my question is - how can I get this deleted from my profile and warn the user who wrote it to be careful with false accusations in the future? What's the procedure here?

Hi guys,
During past few months I was reading various campaign rules, management offers etc but some of questions I have are still left unanswered. Let me describe what we might need and I'd appreciate help to understand how much it might cost us.
In early 2018 we'll be launching new coin that, as we believe, will have come interesting features for cryptocommunity as well as real world purpose. As part of the launch we want to run facebook/twitter/signature/bounty campaigns that may last for months (we haven't decided yet if we want to run them non-stop or on on-off basis). While I'd like to get some advice from experienced campaign managers on what the best way of organising such campaigns would be, my major question is - how do managers usually get paid, is it BTC only or payments in our coin would be considered as well? Is it usually a fixed amount based on the total budget, or weekly payments, etc.
I would appreciate answers in this thread (and we most likely will have more questions along the way) as well as PMs with offers for such service.

Sorry if this was explained before but I couldn't find the description of how this system works. I had a successful deal with another forum member, he left me a feedback, so I assumed it would show as green +1, right? Wrong, it doesn't seem to work that way, it doesn't even show +1 in black. How does it work then? On the other hand I'm following one thread now where some people gave quite a few people red trust in matter of few minutes. Plus on top of everything it's totally unclear what trust settings are for, how they work, what are trust levels (and all nicknames in them) etc.
Please explain.
