1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Question about volume on: July 24, 2017, 10:49:21 AM
Hi,

When looking at alt cloins, particularly on smaller exchanges such as Yobit, it seems a very small amount of volume can move a price quite dramatically.I was just wondering if the volume within a particular candle is the actual value of matched orders or just orders that have been placed?

Also say a coin changes from 100 sat to 300 sat then back down to 200 sat all within the same candlestick on a chart. How is the btc volume figure worked out, with the alt coins value changing all the time?

Thanks.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Buying Walls on zero value alt coins on: July 21, 2017, 10:54:53 PM
Hi,

Ive been looking at a few low value coins ive never even heard of on yobit and the ones that have zero value all seem to have quite high buy orders ready to be filled. What is the point in this? as the buy order book goes all the way for example from over 700000 sats down to 1 sat on this specific coin ITI (this is just an example of one).

Is it a hope from the buyers perspective that someone comes along and sells these coins at this inflated price and therefore starts the market up in a hope to pump the price higher?

Thanks, Cal.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Altcoin Currency Pairs on: July 21, 2017, 03:05:55 PM
Hi all,

I am quite new to the crypto trading world and am finding a lot of what you guys have to say fascinating reading. I look forward to being able to contribute to discussions myself once i learn some more.

I question is, is there a reliable regularly updated site which keeps an update on what new currency pairs or a list of existing currency pairs on all major exchanges? I have came across a few on yobit and bittrex in particular that dont seem to appear on the coinmarketcap full list of 995 (at time of writing). Im trying to develop a strategy based on watching order books looking for buy/sell walls and want to avoid things like arbitrage bots so knowing if a coin is on multiple exchanges is quite important.

Any ideas guys? much appreciated,

Cal.
