Economy / Exchanges / CEX Vs DEX ?
|
on: December 13, 2019, 05:36:10 AM
|
Recently I have seen many people whining about exchange fraud and some of them stopped working and took away all investor money. So in my head, I now have the thought that will 2020 be the trend of DEX? I will give a brief summary of CEX and DEX. CEX stands for centralized exchange where all your money is managed by exchange, it has its own wallet system and money is transferred there. DEX stands for a decentralized exchange, and there, you trade the number of coins in your wallet with someone else's wallet and there are absolutely no middlemen in between. So with many incidents happening at CEX, will there be more people trading in DEX in 2020? Although trading at DEX costs more, it is safer for us and we do not need to make any KYC.

Bitcoin / Pools / [RESOLVED] Bitparking Pool -- why do you refuse to pay?
|
on: June 16, 2013, 12:58:41 PM
|
I moved away from Bitparking Pool, and made a number of private requests that you pay out my outstanding balance with Bitparking Pool: Hi,
I was wondering if you could issue a payout for the BTC in "drlukacs2" -- I realize that it is below 0.05 BTC, but I doubt that I will be back mining for the next little while. (The reason is other alternative currencies plus increasing temperatures.)
Best, Gabor
Date: Sun, 2 Jun 2013 19:17:59 -0300 (ADT) To: admin@bitparking.comSubject: Payment of "residual" BTC Hi, I have moved away from the pool a while ago when PPS was phased out, and I got "stuck" with a balance of about 0.028 BTC. Would you please be so kind to arrange for a payout? Best wishes, GL I never received any answer. I am now repeating the same request publicly. It would be very sad if the negative views that I expressed about the pool turned out to be the reason for the refusal to pay. EDIT: Thanks to the kindness of a member, the matter has been resolved. It is good to see that there are people who have a sense of justice.

Bitcoin / Pools / 50BTC.com: Payments are not processed?
|
on: May 21, 2013, 07:23:13 PM
|
I sent a payment from 50BTC.com, and it shows up as if it had been executed, transaction ID:
ec38a796a1113c3c2065ea3f624f57c98b6290d1da4729fb33b552120ed8af63
But this transaction is nowehere to be found, and needless to say, the bitcoins did not reach the recipient.
Are you having similar problems?

I would like to compile a guide/database for 7970 cards, which includes optimal settings for each manufacturer and model.
Please post your cards and settings here in the following format:

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / cgminer: mix sha256 and crypt mining?
|
on: May 12, 2013, 08:37:12 PM
|
I have 2 different types of cards. One is better for scrypt, while the other two are probably more profitable on sha256 mining.
Is there a way to run a single instance of cgminer that connects to two or more completely different pools, and "routes" work from a given pool to a given card?
(This is certainly possible with launching multiple instances of cgminer.)

It seems that there are several membership levels, starting from Newbie, Jr. Member, Full Member, Sr. Member, etc.
Can someone explain here what conditions one must meet to be "promoted" to these?

Economy / Trading Discussion / Vircurex has been compromised
|
on: May 10, 2013, 06:24:30 PM
|
Vicurex seems to be down, and it displays the following message: The systems Vircurex.com and Cryptostocks.com have been taken offline over the weekend
Please do not deposit any further coins to your Vircurex accounts. We must assume that the wallet has been compromised.

Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / How MSI Afterburner works?
|
on: May 02, 2013, 08:59:06 AM
|
I have read a lot about MS Afterburner, and the various settings that one can have on it. But there is one thing that I could not find any in-depth posting on:
How does it really work? Did anyone manage to analyze it with a disassembler?
I am particularly curious to know how AB circumvents the memory lock on HD 7970 cards, and allows for very low memory clock (and voltage) with high core clock.
