1  Bitcoin / Wallet software / iPhone wallets that correctly use change addresses? on: October 06, 2014, 04:00:12 AM
Are there any iPhone wallets that correctly return the change of a transaction into a newly generated address, much like Electrum does?

BitWallet does not do this.
2  Bitcoin / Electrum / Feature request: Don't show zero-balance change addresses on: July 26, 2014, 01:12:31 AM
Change addresses should never be used by the user, only as change from another transaction, so there is no use in showing change addresses with no bitcoins in them.

Change addresses with a balance of zero should be hidden.
3  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum not using change addresses on: July 17, 2014, 08:48:37 PM
I recently made this transaction with Electrum 1.9.8:
https://blockchain.info/tx/7ba987f202323c302b7cc736436a1858579255b131e4f7332caced3a96d945ed

You'll notice that some change from the transaction went back to 1K2TZGCiP8F2sZHtZ73LtyMQJUygFxwUUH, which is also one of the source addresses.

Why is Electrum returning funds to the same address instead of to a change address?

"Use change addresses" is turned on in the Settings.
4  Bitcoin / Electrum / Console non-wallet address balance on: July 14, 2014, 04:04:29 AM
Is it possible to determinate the unspent balance of an arbitrary bitcoin address (not one from my wallet) from the Electrum console?
5  Economy / Marketplace / Best way to sell, or otherwise use, pre-generated vanity addresses? on: November 17, 2013, 11:54:05 PM
I have a bunch of pre-generated vanity addresses (addresses that start with a word, like 1DocumentnGL9WwyL4ZkLoHcKhtfm5zFDk) that I don't need.

Because they're pre-generated I can't sell them safely using split-key because, well, they already exist.

If I wanted to try to sell them, what would be the best way to do so and prove I'm not planning to steal the purchaser's coins? Is there some way they can be setup as a forwarding address, perhaps?

Alternatively, what else can I do with a bunch of vanity addresses?
6  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum "stuck" - showing unverified transactions on: August 19, 2013, 11:06:12 AM
The last three transactions I made with Electrum are still showing "Unverified" after several days.

The transactions themselves have received many confirmations on the blockchain, such as this one:
https://blockchain.info/tx/1eed09277aa0d036791e5bbdb1dea5f9aad4376b63e1eba565a50b677e8d8cad

Is there anything I can do to get Electrum to "update"? I know there was that bug recently, but I'm connected to electrum.be which I thought was patched. I tried electrum.no-ip.org but got the same problem.

I'm running Electrum 1.8.1 on OS X 10.8.4. Any advice?
7  Other / MultiBit / Per-address balance breakdown? on: August 11, 2013, 11:55:41 PM
Is there any way in MultiBit of getting a breakdown of a wallet balance, so you can see exactly how many bitcoins are stored in each address in that wallet?
8  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum question: Why are receiving addresses in "Change"? on: April 29, 2013, 12:09:04 PM
I just started using BitCoin with the "Electrum" client. I used an address from the "Lite" UI to receive some coins, and all is well.

However in the "Classic" UI, the addresses I got from the Lite UI are now listed under "Change" section if I turn expert mode on, and not listed at all if I don't.

It was my understanding that Change addresses were used only as a consequence of me sending coins, which I haven't done yet.

Have I misunderstood things? Why doesn't the Lite UI show the "Receiving" addresses?

(This should go in the Electrum forum but I'm not allowed to post there yet.)
