2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Worldcoin Press Release July 1, 2014 on: July 01, 2014, 06:59:50 PM
Worldcoin payments made easy: Android wallet and merchant API released

The last few weeks have seen some of the most productive times in Worldcoin’s brief history: The developers have implemented a huge amount of valuable ideas from the Worldcoin community. With the release of a sophisticated, user-friendly Android wallet and the finalization of the CryptoDiggers payment API, users and merchants now have the perfect tools for mobile payments and accepting Worldcoin just by adding a plugin to their online store systems.

Now the Worldcoin Alliance is proud to finally reveal the eagerly awaited Worldcoin Android wallet: based on Andreas Schildbach's excellent Bitcoin wallet and equipped with a customized security model to match Worldcoin’s high-performance characteristics, the Worldcoin wallet has many familiar features, such as unregistered pseudonymous peer-to-peer transactions, quick payments by scanning QR-codes, via NFC or by opening Worldcoin URLs, and an address book for regularly used Worldcoin addresses. Also, users will be informed of incoming transactions by system notifications, and a widget is available to be placed on the homescreen so that the funds can be checked without starting the full wallet. The developers have focused on creating a lightweight app that synchronizes necessary parts of the blockchain only, leading to extremely short synchronization times and energy savings. Moreover, the app displays going rates for Worldcoin in a choice of standard fiat, including gold and silver ounces. In the current version, this data is retrieved from Cryptocoincharts with more choices to come in a future release.

Pierre-Louis Constantin, Worldcoin Android lead developer, explains: “Over the past few weeks the development team worked without pause to build one of the fastest and most reliable Simplified Verification Protocol wallets possible for a Scrypt-based coin. The wallet uses the very latest updates to the SPV libraries and the Worldcoin protocol's latest features such as Worldshield's checkpointing to provide protection from forks and lead to even faster synchronization when the next wallet version is released. We already have frequent updates planned with new features and improvements which will be all about better performance, more security and better integration with the Worldcoin ecosystem."

The Worldcoin Wallet app has just been released and should be available for free from the Google Play (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=info.coinfit.wdcwallet) store at any minute.

Another recent addition making it ever easier to accept Worldcoin is the new payment API developed by the Slovakia based CrypoDiggers (http://cryptodiggers.eu/) team. The API will enable merchants to accept Worldcoin by simply adding a plugin to their online shop systems. Currently, these plugins are available for OpenCart (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLYQznLacA8) and Magento (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ssDDu-KDJg) with a Wordpress version to be released soon. Also, the API is being extended to manage Bitcoin and Litecoin payments in the near future. The API development is a brilliant example of the high levels of professionalism and for the perfect teamwork within the Worldcoin community: Strong synergy between the Android wallet developers and the CryptoDiggers team led to seamless compatibility before the API was even released.

A CryptoDiggers spokesman adds: "As mobile payments play an integral role, we wanted to make sure that everything is perfectly consistent with the Worldcoin Android wallet before releasing the API. With the implementation of QR-codes users will just have to scan them with their mobile phones to quickly finish the checkout procedure."

The first two outlets implementing the CryptoDiggers payment API will be Europe based CryptoDiggers Superstore and a North American online shop, both selling a wide range of consumer electronics.

About Worldcoin
Worldcoin (WDC) is currently the fastest cryptocurrency that uses protocols similar to Bitcoin in the advanced digital currency world. However, Bitcoin transactions will require up to 20 minutes to confirm a payment, whereas Worldcoin transactions have a target completion of only 30 seconds, rivalling the speed of credit card transactions. This makes Worldcoin unique, with limitless potential in daily retail usage, while Bitcoin is more limited to online payment only, though this is not the only advantage Worldcoin has over other most digital currencies.

About the Worldcoin Alliance

The Worldcoin Alliance represents a group of motivated Worldcoin users who decided to step up and volunteer their time and expertise to develop Worldcoin into a legitimate alternative currency. Our members come from all over the world including the UK, U.S., Canada, Netherlands, Hong Kong, Finland and Austria.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] Worldcoin, Worldcup Promotion!! Have fun, donate to charity!! on: May 08, 2014, 04:31:10 AM

Dear Worldcoin Community!

As promised!! Here's our Worldcup Jackpot event !!! With Minimum Pool size of 5000 WDC (with no upper limit!!)

Here are the rules:

    Go to : http://wdc.rapidballs.eu/worldcup/index.php
Pick the Entry Pool you wish to enter! (50 WDC pool, or 200 WDC)
Pick the team that you think will be Champion, 2nd place, 3rd and 4th!
REMEMBER to enter Winnings wallet, where you want to receive when you win! (personal wallet is best)
Enter your email so we can contact you if you win!!!!
PRESS SEND PAYMENT, and send the "correct" amount to the Address provided! **
DONE !!! You now have a chance for the Jackpot!
    Unlimited entries!!!
BOOK CLOSES on 11th June !
We might 'increase' entry fee per pool closer to the book closing day!! (to make it fair.)  so do Join early!!!!

**note: You MUST send the 'correct' entry fee of 50 or 200 WDC, if you send the wrong amount, the amount will go straight into the charity bucket, and while we can help you arrange to get that back, it might take us a while, and creates unnecessary work for us, so please remember to enter the correct amount !!!!

This event is also for a good cause. 75% of entry fees will be added to the pools for the winners, and 25% will go to a Charity voted and endorsed by the Worldcoin Community. (feel free to come join our discussion as well, we will help those in need together.) In the event no one has an exact match of the winning teams the closest match will win.

THERE IS NO UPPER LIMIT TO THE POOL SIZE

Meaning, that it is quite possible when we begin further promotion of the event, that the Pool size might end up being quite enormous. When that happens, and should there be any event on the Football world that gives more information about the teams, we might "INCREASE" the entry cost for the pool ! We will ONLY increase, NEVER decrease the entry cost, and this will be done at the discretion of the event committee, to ensure we are fair to those that entered early!! So join sooner is better than late!!!   [Smiley]

And of course, since Prypto is one of our Proud sponsors, you can also purchase Worldcoin Prypto Cards as payment!! and co-incidentally, Worldcoin Prypto cards come in 50 WDC and 200 WDC per card. [Smiley]

ENJOY, and may fortune be with you.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Worldcoin under attack on: March 24, 2014, 05:44:45 PM
Worldcoin is under attack from other alt coins today after it posted a 25%+ gain on mcxnow, cryptsy, and vircurex.

The blockchain explorer that feeds coinmarketcap.com is under ddos attack currently and also went down 2 other days that Worldcoin was up.

The Worldcoin Wiki has been deleted by other alt coin members trying to erase it from history because of the threat it presents to them.

Worldcoin is working very hard with a strong community behind it, and these action will not be tolerated.

Worldcoin is one of the most popular crypto currencies with fast transaction times and transaction malleability resistance to prevent double spends and miner pool manipulation.

The amount of development and things happening right now for Worldcoin is more than we have seen this whole year. Great things are coming and we have the amazing community to thank for that.

If you are a supporter of Worldcoin, please help counteract these attacks, and help us track down exactly where the source of these attacks are coming from.

If you are trying to stop Worldcoin from growing through these juvenile attacks, you are not cool, not transparent, and hurt the entire cyrptocurrency movement with your actions.

The Worldcoin community and supporters are coming together to build something great for everyone.

I have seen this topic brought up several times, some people believe that Worldcoin got help from Vertcoin in funding the well. While there was a conversation earlier about possibly working together, no actual results were produced. Vertcoin supporters did start a website to fund raise, but we (Worldcoin) have not received any of these funds and we did not use these in our own fundraising. We actually have no idea what these Vertcoin supporters did with their raised funds. Perhaps this is something people in their community should be talking about.

To reiterate: The Worldcoin Well was funded by the Worldcoin Community only, Vertcoins were not added to our total. This is not to say that we don't want to collaborate with other Altcoins in the future, but these rumors are not true.

The contributions that made up the gap can be found in this thread: http://worldcoinforu...-match-success/

Please see for yourself and feel free to correct anyone who is spreading misinformation.

 1. Worldcoin Community fully funded the well on its own.
2. Vertcoin fundraiser raised money also but we have no idea what they did with it.
3. Vertcoin fundraiser was significantly less than Worldcoin's.
4. There is a constant barrage of rumors that Vertcoin funded our gap.
5. Combining points 2,3 raises the question as to why 4 keeps existing.

I personally donated twice to fill in the funding gap so know full well Vertcoin funds were not used.

If Vertcoin is still in possesion of funds raised and they wish to discuss matters, they can always contact me by PM here or on wordcoinforum.org

The funds do not have to go to waste. They could be donated to a another charity or donated to The Well Projects general fund.

Official Worldcoin Statement: http://worldcoinforum.org/topic/1339-worldcoin-foundation-community-statement/

Quote
Posted Today, 03:11 PM

Dear Worldcoin users/investors,

It has been an extremely hard couple of days for all of us and a lot of us are unsure about the path that Scharmbeck will take at this current time, so to clear a lot of things up, there have been a lot of rumours and speculation which has caused Worldcoin prices to drop and Scharmbeck fee shares to drop. As you may be aware, there has been no official statement from the Scharmbeck company.  Because of this some Worldcoin Foundation board members have decided to give up their position. This Foundation aligns with the needs and services of users/investors. Scharmbeck is not tied to The Worldcoin Foundation. Scharmbeck is a specific company.

Now we have cleared this up. There will be a new focus of WDC one of building secure services for our consumers, linking with merchants to accept Worldcoin as a currency. This new era of Worldcoin will be one of transparency and connecting with the community on a level where we can grow together.

Once again Worldcoin is a great choice for investors.  Firstly, our community involvement is massive and we have developed a large amount of translations for the site to allow a multitude of investors to get involved with Worldcoin. Our name and marketing aligns us to meet with corporate ideals.

We are now prevented from 51% attack systems and are developing check pointing systems for extra security. Worldcoin’s trading volume is extremely large and generally trades volume of around $250,000 a day. We are supported and held strong by a large variety of services and exchanges. Worldcoin is also one of the fastest confirming coins with a confirmation time of under 30 seconds allowing for Point of Sales transactions and large Corporate/Investment transactions.

We aim for Worldcoin to be a world payment system.  Nothing more and nothing less.

The foundation will be restructured so Worldcoin can focus on promotion of Worldcoin, services and development.

So with our renewed energy, we will be taking on board a large variety of development activity from now on. This will come in the form of 5 simple projects that the community can vote for. These projects will be listed on Cryptostocks and have complete transparency. These projects are listed here:
http://worldcoinforu...ture-direction/

We also had a fantastic Skype conversation with a large amount of the WDC community last night where we discussed moving things forward again, there results of this meeting were: Service creation, merchant adoption, transparency, advertising and marketing. These meetings will be held on Skype at 7pm pacific time every Wednesday and Sunday without fail. Where we will continually discuss what is happening with the coin.

More transparency is also needed on our social media platforms so I have already tried to make a concerted effort to make sure all information released by the Worldcoin Foundation is as transparent and accurate as possible.

Lastly I love all of this community and everyone here is regarded as a friend to me, I and many other will continue to push for this coin and this community. We are definitely on the right path now.

Again I love you all.
Kind Regards,
Sustainable.

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Don't Overlook Worldcoin (Update thread) on: February 05, 2014, 07:01:36 PM
With the flood of new coins recently and people chasing after a quick buck based on hype and speculation people are missing the gem sitting right in front of them.

I believe Worldcoin is highly undervalued right now based on popularity and adoption by investors and merchants. I have been making frequent Worldcoin status updates in the original WDC thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204894.new#new

However due to the age of the thread and it's location in the announcement section I don't think that it is getting the attention it deserves. So I am moving my updates to this thread.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Disturbing Similarities between Solidcoin/Microcash and NXT on: December 23, 2013, 12:17:26 AM
I posted this on another thread but it may not get the attention it deserves because many people might not read that far.

1.

The "MCX" in MCXnow stands for MicroCash eXchange. An exchange that realsolid started so he would have a place to sell Solidcoin, a coin which he created and was not traded on any other exchange. He promised at some point to convert SC to MC but still hasn't gotten around to it. Basically it was a mechanism for him to convert his worthless SC, and MNC into BTC.

Gdex.com was started by a NXT "stakeholder" so he would have a place to trade his worthless NXT for BTC. Even though gdex.com only trades one coin and has only been open for a couple weeks it is being used as the sole source for stating NXT market cap which is complete bogus and I have said as much in the coinmarketcap forum. All the other top coins are on multiple well established exchanges.

2.

Realsolid then engaged in insider trading and price manipulation on his coins. He created fake volume and price spikes with puppet accounts and the fees he was charged to do this went back to himself so it didn't even cost him anything to artificially increase the value of his coins.

He later went on to even bigger scams with his feeshares but that is not part of this discussion.

I cannot prove 100% at this point that insider trading and price manipulation is going on at gdex.com but it is very likely. Anytime you have a small group of people who own 100% of the coins some of them are going to want to engage in price fixing even if they aren't all in on the scam.

I said it earlier and it is true, there is nothing stopping NXT holders from making the price of NXT anything they want. They have all the coins and only need to rig one exchange. NXT fanboys then tried to play this off saying that all markets are manipulated and this is true to some extent but it is a lot harder for a group of manipulators owning 10% of the coins to fix a price on 5-6 exchanges then it is for a group owning 90+% to fix the price on a single exchange.

This is a legitimate concern.

3.

Realsolid had a scheme to convert SC to MC where only the SC held as balances at MCXnow at the time of the conversion were going to have a "stake" in microcash. Microcash was not going to be created by conventional mining. "Stakeholders" would start off owning 100%.

Quote
Posted 21 March 2013 - 08:29 AM
After a lot of thought I have decided that SolidCoins will be going into MicroCash at a 1:1 conversion rate. Since the MicroCash economy will have ways to balance itself out I think there is no real harm in moving all active SolidCoins over. The key word there being ACTIVE. Previously I wanted to make this 10:1 to increase the average unit price but with all the new systems in place this isn't needed.

This is going to remove all dead SolidCoins and people who haven't kept up with the project. Currently there is roughly 2.9 million coins in SolidCoin, my estimation is over 1.5 million of them are dead, so MicroCash will likely start with just over a million ACTIVE units but it could be less depending upon people who miss the window. This basically means your percentage share if you own SolidCoins right now is going to increase without doing anything.

NXT is 100% pre-mined. They call it 100% distributed to "stakeholders" but it is effectively the exact same thing.

4.

When you mine NXT for the fee's the more coins you already own the greater the chance you have of mining success. So it is unlike other coins where an outside miner can come in owning zero of a certain coin and start to build a decent stash just buy mining without having to spend BTC. NXT's biggest holders always have a mining advantage over the little guy and if you want greater mining success you have to buy a whole bunch of NXT enriching the stakeholders that started off with 100%.

This caught my attention because I had done some research on MicroCash and sure enough it was going to function very similarly. The biggest holders would receive the greatest rewards which is great when you are a "stakeholder" and already have most of the coins.

Realsolid (microcash forum):

This post will document all the things MicroCash does and is to give everyone an idea of what MC currently does, what it wants to do and allow people to offer suggestions going from the current thing.

Hopefully after reading and understanding these details you will see that MicroCash uses the best technologies and ideas from every source and that should place it technically at the #1 spot in regards to digital currency.

MicroCash "gee wizz" details

Quote
1) Transactions are instant and permanent. They cannot be undone.
2) Transactions are highly optimized in size and the way they are processed, allowing consumer grade PC hardware to beat dedicated Visa supercomputers in performance.
3) Currency creation is determined by internal investment which involves individual risk, no more wasting energy mining. If you want more income in MicroCash then you need to acquire it through investment or buying other peoples MicroCash. The work of GPUs and ASICs has been replaced by the inherent "Work" associated with having money.
4) The currency created goes to all MicroCash users instead of to the few. Like a decentralized federal reserve.
Quote
Our "mining" is more like having MC and getting MC, more simple, elegant and decentralized. It's also a reward mechanism for early adopters (the earlier they get in the the more total money they will make) which is a key thing missing from SolidCoin which helped it fail.

5.

Dgex.com is registered in panama through a Panamanian Corporation.

MXCnow and all of Realsolids other websites are registered in Panama to a Panamanian corporation.

Registering in Panama to a Panamanian corp is proven to be a sure fire way to hide your real identity. So if you rip people off, intentionally or through incompetence, you never have to face the repercussions of the harm you have inflicted.

------------------------

So as you can see there are a disturbing number or similarities between the schemes of Realsolid/Coinhunter and what NXT is doing. I don't know if all this is just coincidence, if RS is involved, or if the devs followed his work and decided to rip him off but these are all red flags.

If it looks like a scam and smells like a scam I don't know what other conclusion I can come to.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / STOP MAKING ALT COINS!!! diluting value..... on: May 12, 2013, 05:18:20 PM
Don't know if this has been discussed much but the real reason why most of these Alt coins shit the bed recently isn't due to hasrate drop off or band wagon hopping or any other nonsense. It is a supply and demand issue.

There is only so much money out there that is going to be used for speculation and every new alt coin that enters the market at this point is basically just inflating the supply of coins and causing inflation just like with fiat currency.

One of the strengths of a crypto currency is that the supply is limited. This is great if the coin can actually be spent and has vendors like bitcoin and litecoin but with the alt coins it is only speculation that gives them value. It is the same pool of money that is treating the Alt coins as one group so every new coin is adding to the supply of coins and basically making them worthless. Older Alt coins are also getting dragged down and hurt by the ever expanding supply they have to compete with.

Of course people that want to make a quick buck can't help but make new coins in a pump and dump scheme.

Unless some of these Alt coins find markets for themselves they are only good for a quick trade when they first come out and there is hype. After that they will end up like FTC, CNC and the others.

Only Coins that can find a market will have lasting value.
