1  Economy / Service Announcements / [ANN] Crypto Friendly Legal Jurisdiction to Register Your Company on: May 15, 2023, 06:31:13 PM
Joseon, the world's first legally recognized cyber nation-state, provides the ability for Denizens in its jurisdiction to create a legal juridic person (register a company). In Joseon, crypto [1] is treated as a first-class citizen and, generally, laws are non-burdensome creating a permissive ecosystem for frontline, innovative technological projects.

Joseon is legally recognized by Antigua, a UN member nation, and there are several more nations who will be recognizing Joseon soon [2].

BKEX [3] and LBank [4] have already announced branches in Joseon, and there are several more companies who will likely be announcing soon.

How to Register

1. Signup on Joseon.com as a Denizen

2. Purchase JSM (Joseon Mun) to register your business on Joseon.com's Portal

3. Conduct business, with other Denizens, under Joseon law, which is the most 'freedom' providing jurisdiction in the world.

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / [ANN] Mun, National Currency of Joseon, the First Legally Recognized Cyberstate on: April 24, 2023, 01:15:56 PM
The great advent of Bitcoin provided decentralized finance to the world and sparked a movement of amazing decentralized innovation thereafter. However, countless regulatory hurdles exist, across all nations, due to the difficulty in linking both the ancient and new worlds, hindering the launch, adoption and, in some cases, operation of decentralized systems and the services built around said systems. It has become painfully clear that the world has been missing a proper regulatory environment providing safe-harbor for these projects.

Joseon is the first legally recognized cyber nation-state. With conditional recognition from the Great Nation of Antigua in February 2022, later upgraded to full recognition in 2023, Joseon has been granted the opportunity to develop its own non-burdensome regulatory environment. This empowers us to provide safe harbor for creativity, nurture disruptive ideas, and foster a borderless environment for the cyber realm, without the limitations of traditional regulation.

As a recognized nation-state, Joseon is also able to issue its own national fiat currency – which is also a blockchain cryptocurrency. This means that the Joseon Mun may operate as a foreign currency in certain other jurisdictions while still benefiting from the advantages and transparency of blockchain technology.

Our Mission
Joseon aspires to be a safe haven for cutting-edge technologies and breakthrough ideas by eliminating the regulatory barriers faced by innovators in the digital space to create a more fair, and free, world.

Denizenship
Joseon provides "Denizenship" to anyone in the world. A "Denizen" is a special type of corporation that is limited to a single shareholder, cannot be transferred and is, also, limited to a single instantiation per person. This allows the physical person to separate the actions from that of the Denizen. The physical person acts as an agent of the Denizen -- and the Denizen is both incorporated under and subject to Joseon law, not the restrictive laws of the physical person. Also, Denizenship is free!

Joseon Mun Coin
Our national currency can be used to pay for business registration to domicile a company in Joseon. I am not receiving any allocation.

3  Economy / Scam Accusations / 26 BTC Stolen on: December 30, 2022, 06:51:06 PM
I confirmed a screenshot with minerjones on telegram whose username was initially mtmantis and later changed to minerjones on telegram. However, now my 26BTC are gone and also their accounts on telegram are deleted.

The major issue I have here is that I received a screenshot of the BitcoinTalk message I had sent to minerjones which is how I had confirmed that it was the same user from here.

Currently it appears the position being taken is that the telegram account was a scam. This leads me to believe that either his account on BitcoinTalk or BitcoinTalk itself is compromised.

Either way it looks like I’m out 26BTC.  It’s upsetting, but I’m more worried about others on here who could be at risk. I feel like this amount of money can really negatively affect someone should a scam be pulled like this.

Anyway it’s unlikely to be resolved but I also wanted to note that whoever can find this guy and bring him to me can have the 26BTC or whatever else they have on them of equivalent or, if not, highest value if they don’t have the coins on them.  I don’t need the money at all just the culprit. Also, please do so without harming him and if you’re in a jurisdiction that requires licensing for bounty hunting please make sure you do so and consult your attorney before proceeding in all jurisdictions.  In the meantime I have a team working on subpoenaing and following the rabbit hole likely to a vpn, but if not I do know that there will be dire consequences for this gentleman’s actions.

I’ll be moving on as I already lost a half mil here definitely don’t want to waste valuable time!  Please message me about this if you have the culprit otherwise I hope BitcoinTalk can have a security analysis because being able to share private messages from a BitcoinTalk account is very scary.

Best,
Andrew

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ICANN Acknowledges and Fights with Handshake, the Blockchain DNS on: November 25, 2021, 06:33:23 PM
Handshake, which is fulfilling the mission of Satoshi and BitDNS, has been growing rapidly.  The decentralized root and certificate authority has recently been institutionally adopted by Namecheap, EnCirca, 101Domain and many other major DNS registrars.  This has led ICANN to waging an attack against Handshake [1].

Interestingly, there have been other projects in the past that did not get attacked by ICANN [2].  It's pretty clear that blockchain is unstoppable, though, and with the adoption spreading so fast, ICANN doesn't have a choice but to fight.

As they say:

First the ignore you,
Then they laugh at you,
then they fight you,
then you win [3].

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / [ANN] Bitcoin Balance Checker by QR (Open Source/Android/iOS) on: July 25, 2012, 06:18:00 AM
Bitcoin Balance

As per the request of this thread and the users therein:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=94985.0

I would like to announce Bitcoin Balance, a very simple Titanium Appcelerator based application for Android and iOS which will simply allow you to scan a Bitcoin QR code to immediately see the balance (and TX's) associated with it as per the Block Explorer results.

The very tiny "code" for this is available on GitHub as a simple GIST:
https://gist.github.com/3174001

This application was built in a matter of minutes simply as a response to the needs voiced by users within the above mentioned Bitcoin thread.  I hope they as well as you all may enjoy.

iOS
You may build this app and deploy it to your own iOS device.

EDIT: You can get an app that is similar for iOS from the appstore as per the link in the next post.

13  Economy / Marketplace / VPN Service by privateinternetaccess.com on: March 11, 2012, 04:34:18 AM

At Private Internet Access, we provide multi-gigabit tier-1 access points to our private global VPN (virtual private network).

Why VPN?
VPN tunnels allow you to browse anonymously with a different IP address.  Additionally, VPN tunnels encrypt your connection when accessing the internet through insecure networks, such as public wifi networks and potentially insecure ISP networks.  Further, VPN tunnels are highly important when traveling abroad, as many websites are blocked and/or regionally censored in other countries.

Why Private Internet Access?
Private Internet Access has been in business for several years and has quickly become one of the leading VPN tunnel providers.  We have extensive years of experience in VPN tunneling technologies, and, in addition, we are major supporters of Bitcoin.  Many of you know us within the community as rasengan (co-founder Mt. Gox Mobile) and coderrr (co-founder Mt. Gox Live and creator of the Bitcoin Anonymity Patch).

Please visit our website, Private Internet Access, at https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/.

We look forward to providing you the highest quality VPN service.

Thank you,
Andrew

Thanks to you, the bitcoin community, Mt. Gox Mobile now has a userbase of over 1000, and it's growing fast!  I would like to take the time to detail a complete and concise how-to pamphlet for Mt. Gox Mobile that is directed toward businesses with physical payment transactions.  If you would like to learn more about Mt. Gox Mobile, please visit the website or visit the thread on the forums here (http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=31710.0).

With the exciting new API system introduced in the past few weeks by Mt. Gox, the leading bitcoin exchange, the capabilities available to Mt. Gox Mobile have increased exponentially.  This document attempts to cover several use scenarios and includes step by step instructions on the configuration of said scenarios.  However, only one's own creativity will be the limit for the uses of this application.

First, you will need to pair your phone with your account.  When pairing your account, you will need to create a scannable QR Code in the Mt. Gox settings as pictured to the right to activate the pairing.

1. Login to the Mt. Gox Website on your computer  and access your settings by clicking on your username in the upper right hand corner.
2. Scroll down until you see the area as shown to the right.
3. Select the rights which you wish to enable (learn more about rights below!) and click Create Key.
4. Scroll down until you see the QR Code.
5. In Mt. Gox Mobile on your smartphone, press the icon to the right of the input field to access the QR scanning features.
6. Scan the QR Code and when you are returned to the application screen, press Connect.
7. Create and verify a new PIN # that will be used to lock this account from uninvited users and press Save.

Mt. Gox Settings
Rights
Mt. Gox Mobile v2.4+ supports a beautiful interface which has been configured to show and hide parts based upon the rights system which has been enabled for the specific API key/profile on Mt. Gox.  The following is a detailed description of each right in relation to Mt. Gox Mobile:

get_info -view account balance, history, and open order list.
trade - view open order list, cancel open orders, buy bitcoins, sell bitcoins
withdraw - send bitcoins to a btc.to/bitcoin address, create USD or BTC vouchers
deposit - redeem USD or BTC vouchers

Pictured to the right are two profiles (explained below) from two accounts.  The left account features all rights activated, while the other is configured as a deposit only account.  As such, the UI has been reflected to show only what is available to the user.

Profiles
Mt. Gox Mobile v2.4+ features powerful multiple profile support.  The multi-profile support enables you to pair your application with multiple accounts.

How to setup a new profile:
1. Logout of your current profile.
2. Go back in the application and touch Change Profile in the bottom right corner as seen in the picture.
3. On the Profile selection window, touch Create Profile in the bottom right corner as seen in the picture.
4. Go through the same activation/pairing procedures as detailed in the initial setup above.

Uses for Brick and Mortar Retailers
1. Create a deposit only account to accept bitcoins at the register.
2. Create a withdraw (and/or trade) account to offer "buy bitcoins for cash" services.

Uses for Brick and Mortar Restaurants
1. Create several deposit only accounts for each cash register or server.  Handle transactions same as cash (i.e., each server/register is responsible for the balance as reconciled against items served).

Mt. Gox Mobile is also a fully featured secure, hosted mobile wallet and allows you to trade while on the go.  Please be sure to spread the word about Mt. Gox Mobile to your friends, family, and your favorite stores and restaurants.

What is Mt. Gox Mobile?

What does Mt. Gox Mobile do?
  • Multi-Currency Support

  • Send Bitcoins to a btc.to address
  • Send Bitcoins to a bitcoin address

  • Review your recent history
  • Review the closest depth
  • Watch Mt. Gox Live

  • ... and plenty more to come!

Ok, but what are some real life use scenarios?
1. Use Mt. Gox Mobile to pay for your next meal.
2. Use Mt. Gox Mobile to day trade, all day, every day, wherever you are.
3. Use Mt. Gox Mobile to receive BTC and USD payments via QR Code/Voucher.
4. Use Mt. Gox Mobile to send/pay BTC to someone who doesn't have Mt. Gox (send to btc.to/bitcoin address)
5. Use Mt. Gox Mobile as a virtual payment solution to allow each and every one of your employees to process payments from wherever they are.

Mt. Gox Mobile is your complete solution for your bitcoin wallet/payment and bitcoin trading needs while on the go... and now, Mt. Gox Mobile is a complete payment processing solution for online and brick and mortar merchants including those in food, retail, convenience, fuel, and other industries.

I need this, but, is it secure?
Mt. Gox Mobile will never ask for your username and password.  Mt. Gox Mobile utilizes the secured HTTP API built by Mt. Gox which enables applications to utilize a secure method of identification and application pairing.  All communications are encrypted over HTTPS (SSL) and are signed using a secret key which is used to create a unique SHA-512 hash which must then be verified.  Further, the secret key is saved for future sessions using AES encryption.

There's nothing plain about that text.  Cheesy

To add an additional layer of security, Mt. Gox allows anyone to revoke any application's access via the user settings page at any time.  This includes on a per rights basis (support within the client coming very soon!).

Ok!  That's just what I needed.  How do I get started?
Mt. Gox Mobile is currently available for download for Android devices from the application's website, http://mtgoxlive.com/mobile, as well as the Android Market.  This application is available for iOS 4.0.1+ jailbroken devices through Cydia on the BigBoss repo.

It's downloaded, but I just see this Activation Key and no fields for my username and password?
Go to http://mtgoxlive.com/mobile and review the setup instructions found on the "Download" link.

(Setup TL;dr)
Web: Login to Mt. Gox -> Settings -> Mobile Application -> Select all -> Grant

19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Vouchers - QR Code Create AND Scan Mobile - Android/iOS/OpenSrc - MtGox Live on: July 02, 2011, 06:36:07 AM
Hi guys,

Edit: QR Scanning has been added in the form of a third party application.  Android users will need to download the Barcode Scanner application.  iOS Barcode scanning is/will be built into the application.  This may change for Android as well soon!  Thanks for the suggestions.

The largest Bitcoin Exchange, MtGox.com, has rolled out an amazing new feature for Bitcoin and MtGox users which allows you to create voucher codes which can be redeemed by yourself or another user at any given moment.  This feature makes it very easy to pay for things with Bitcoins when you are out and about, or even online.  While decentralized transactions most definitely have its place, there are many times where a central payment processor makes things much easier.

MtGox Live has built an Android and iOS application which helps you use the functionality of MtGox.com from your handheld device.  Nearing version 1.6, thanks to all of the feedback and support from this board, our support forums and IRC (#MtGoxLive), many of the usability changes and issues have been stamped in/out.  In addition, the app already has support for MtGox.com's new voucher system and QR codes!

Now, when you are charged .001 BTC for your meal, you can simply create a voucher for .001 BTC and a QR code will be generated instantly.  The merchant can then scan the QR code and instantly gain the value in his/her MtGox account.

* To send bitcoins to a bitcoin address, get a bitcoin address shortened on http://btc.to and enter it on the send tab.

* To create a voucher, just press create with the value.  If you want a QR code, just answer yes.

* If you close the voucher QR on accident, you can goto history (reload if necessary) and click on the item in history.  Instantly you'll see the QR again and the voucher code.

* There is absolutely no automatic refresh aside from during an action (buy/sell/send/vouchers/cancel order).  Besides that, you must manually refresh.

* Depth is limited to 14 records for buy and sell.  More will be added later.. IF there is demand.

* A lot of cool new stuff coming soon.  Grin

20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Address Shortener - btc.to on: June 27, 2011, 02:23:14 PM
I'd like to take the time to introduce btc.to, a bitcoin address shortener.

The service shortens your bitcoin address so that it is more easily entered into a mobile device.  It is also useful to shorten your bitcoin address for memory purposes, and is already available in our Android/iOS app, through IRC with gribble, and through the FireCoin firefox plugin.

Developers can utilize btc.to with our simple API:
Code:
GET http://btc.to/<full bitcoin address>
  returns short address
GET http://btc.to/<short address>
  returns full bitcoin address

IRC users in #Bitcoin-OTC and in #MtGoxLive can shorten their address as follows:
Code:
;;bc,btcto <full bitcoin address>
  returns short address
;;bc,btcto <short address>
  returns full bitcoin address

Please check out the website at http://btc.to/
If you have any questions, please find us on Freenode in #MtGoxLive
