1  Other / Off-topic / Buying new Pc Vs adding ssd to actual Pc . on: December 02, 2018, 10:07:52 AM
Hello bitcointalkers,
I've recently encountred so many problems due to my pc being very slow to boot and launch applications that are very demanding (mainly development IDEs such as visual studio.. )I have a 3 yeas old asus x550jx that has a 4th generation i7 , 8Gb ddrl3 of ram , a gtx 950M and a 1TB HDD drive disk 5400RPM .
I was wondering will it be better to save money and go for an additional SSD disc that is known to be 3-4 times faster than my hdd ?? or just go for a new pc such as an asus rog/ lenovo y530/ Hp omen 15/ dell g7,  with an 8th gen proc, gtx 1050 and ssd (i do some light gaming , hence the gtx1050) .
Saving the money will be great but spending it won't be a problem especially that i use this pc for studying and realising projects(web applications development).
Thanks for your answers.
2  Other / Meta / What about redesigning BitcoinTalk ? . on: May 17, 2018, 02:57:55 AM
I've been here for a quite sometime now and i really have learned a lot of important stuff about numerous topics more than i did in all the other websites/forums combined .
Yet as a junior web developer, I've always considered the forum to be having a rather poor front end design even tho i understand that it make it much easier for people , new ones especially.
But i really think that the forum needs a total new front end design and i'm sure that there are many talented web designers who already are regulars here and who will be more then apt to do such a job .
I'm not saying that the forum ain't serving it's purpose , or that it's crappy .. I'd just would love seeing it in a better/newer outfit and why not having some other cool functionalities such as :
  • 2FA (Two-factor authentication) since we are seeing people having their accounts hacked all the day ..
  • Instant notifications
  • Smoother layouts
  • A better way to know who quoted/answered  to your posts ..
  • Some form of notification to alert you when getting tagged in a post (@someone )

And a better template in general .. I know that Theymos is busy all the time to do so and this might not be of an interest to either him or those who come here on a daily basis , but such an upgrade will certainly make the whole experience much better (especially for those who spend most of their free time here like me  Cheesy ) .

Ps : I don't really know if this belongs here , but i guess it's more appropriate to post it here rather than off topic ..
3  Other / Off-topic / Bitcoin & College students . on: May 07, 2018, 07:35:58 PM
I believe that a huge portion of the the crypto community are still young college students that don't have any necessities that need another source of income aside from their scholarships / the money they are getting from their parents .
And apart from spending their cryptos on either betting or purchasing goods/video games from online markets , many of these students didn't make plans for what they'll do with their coins in the future.
I myself have had many thoughts about hodling and launching a business as soon as i graduate with the coins in my possession , yet i'm not exactly sure what i'll be doing ..
So i'm really curious about :
- On what do you spend your coins apart than partying/gambling/paying for tuition loans ?
- Do you have any future plans for your coins if you are hodling any ?
