1  Bitcoin / Mining / Need some help please! on: June 02, 2011, 02:37:31 AM
First problem: I am having some weird bitcoin problem, I reinstalled (downloaded newested bitcoin from bitcoin.org).

Second problem: I get "Verification failed, check hardware!" for my GPUMINER. Why does it do this?

specs:

win 7 64 bit
4 GB RAM
6970 ATI PowerColor (new card i just got that gives me this error)
quad core 2/4 ghz
psu  750w

880 core clock
1375 downed to 1200 (lowering to 800 only decrements temp for me by 1-4 c) and makes pc way lagger

-f0 -d0 -w 128 are my flags when im sleeping i put it to -f60 when awake

for now my problem 2 i use the console now and coded a program which kills poclbm after some time and then runs it again like every 30 mins.
2  Bitcoin / Mining / Is this normal? Just want to confirm. on: May 31, 2011, 03:39:19 PM
Setting: Value when sleeping (Value when awake)

Voltage: 1.2
Fan: 50% (55%)
Clock: 925
Frames: 0 (60)
Memory: 800

-v slowed my pc
-s0.01 lowered my average hash rate by only 1-3MH/s, but its a good feature to use i guess when sleeping but I don't use it I might later on
-w128 worked wonders
-w64 froze my pc about 2 times when i did stuff on my pc
-f 0 works good and doesn't lag my pc too much i can still go on forums, etc.
-f 60 works better when i want to use my pc

Temp never go above 74, but its on [71-72] average.

I was wondering why when I went to youtube my computer would freeze also if someone could be so kind.
3  Bitcoin / Mining / Just got a 6970 ATI powercooler, any suggestions on settings? on: May 31, 2011, 02:43:02 AM
Should I use GUI miner/poclbm or phoneix, I don't want to overclock my gpu too much cause I want to run it 24/7 and I don't want to hear my fan noise when Im sleeping (I sleep 1 room away and I keep the computer room closed and yes it has a return duct for intake). Hope someone can help me out.
4  Bitcoin / Mining / my 4870 this morning just made some rickety noise... on: May 13, 2011, 05:03:40 PM
Well i decided to turn off my pc for one night after 1 week running it straight on 65% fan speed (around 62 C stable). Then I wake up, and turn on my pc and I hear this like rickety noise... im like WTF! I then find out its my GFX so i pull it out and clean off some dust (yeah my pc got a lot of dust this month...) I put it back, still making that LOUD ASS noise.. im like shit.. now i need to change my GFX... but then i touch the fan slightly (pushing it) and it stopped making that noise.... so im wondering should i go and do this with my new 5870 or is mining not profitable? and how long do your cards last on maximum usage, 60-70% fan, and around 55 C to 62 C.

Hello I am a new bitcoin miner and I wish to do some transactions with your site.

I am known as psknives in the bitcoin forums. I also have a deepbit account http://deepbit.net/userbar/4dc06de38161971bf8000006_45368c65ca.png will show my current mining.

Hopefully I can get an invitation.

Thank you for your time!

This is what I have sent them, but I have not received a reply yet.

I sent this on May 5.

6  Bitcoin / Mining / What happens when the difficulty and popularity reach a extreme? on: May 09, 2011, 03:52:10 PM
Already with under 40,000 users we are getting weird spikes on the market and difficulty. When do you think that the difficulty would rise so much that even a 6990 won't be getting barely anything.
7  Bitcoin / Mining / would 3x 5870's be profitable? on: May 09, 2011, 03:06:39 PM
I am assuming thats prob one of the best crossfire options... but i know i got to get some HEAVY cooling done or else its going get blazing hot.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Would this be wise? My college life (no I DO NOT LIVE IN A DORM) on: May 09, 2011, 11:39:24 AM

gfx is based on how much money i get, 1.8 btc is depended on gfx with difficulty in consideration.

9  Bitcoin / Mining / Is my setup right? on: May 04, 2011, 03:26:35 AM
I have a 4890 ATI and I am currently at 95 khashs/s (deepbit says I got around 150 MH/s).

I am also running bitcoin regular with 4 kh/s (cpu) barely using 10%.

Right now Im doing the Proportional type of worker for the deepbit because I don't have to good of a GPU.

So I am just wondering If i am doing things right because I've only earned 0.08 BTC and its been like 3-4 hours now.

Also are there any better pooling sites out there?
