There seems to be a lot of misinformation circulating about ASICS. ASICS are a type of computer chip designed to do just one job, and do it well. There is a new ASIC out that enables owners of those machines to mine ETN at a much higher hashrate than GPU miners, however there are currently only very limited numbers of them, and they are not available to purchase at the moment (they are not easy to buy, we are trying to get some for testing). The next batch are due out in June. We will have our ASIC resistance in place before they become a potential problem to us.

does somebody know a way to get the good old driver working with more than 8 gpus?
i remember some time ago it was possible to mix 2 amd drivers to get 6 gpus working.

what i tried so far...

-install blockchain driver only
-> results in a bluescreen after some time, reboot only 8 gpus installed

-update installed blockchain driver to some 17.10.2 or later driver and rollback in device manager
-> all gpu gets blockchain driver installed but starting windows always ends up in bluescreen

-copy driver folder from bc driver to newer driver folder, or swap inf files
-> driver dont gets installed(some security check by amd i think)

-install driver with inf file from bc driver for single gpus
-> bluescreen on start

i dont have much hope but maybe somebody knows the trick...
why i want this? i have big rigs - 12gpus and blockchain is the only good driver for vega@cryptonight

I have mixed 12gpu rig with rx 580/vega, since hbcc dont work on 17.10.2 and later drivers im wondering if it is somehow possible to install 2 different drivers on one system?
i tried install blockchain first, 8 gpus get installed. then upgrade to 17.12.2 and rollback to blockchain. but this end up in a bluescreen on start.

i added some Vega 56 to my existing RX 580 Rig, i followed this ultimate Monero Vega Guide, flashed the Vegas to Vega 64, then i did a clean DDU Driver install.

After adding the registry mod to any Vega it becomes Error 43 in Device-Manager( ok fuck that for now)
my main problem is i cannot get this hbcc running.
what i did so far

- tried different driver(17.10.2, 17.11.4, 17.12.2)
- trigger hbcc with the slider in radeon settings
- the devcon.exe thing
- prayed to the dear god
- turn off/on by hand in device manager
- different mining software
- prayed again
- tried nearly everthing somebody mentioned on reddit to activate hbcc

im close to giving up

any advices?

i have added an 11 rx580 to my rig(all 580´s), since then sgminer shows no stats anymore...somebody know how to fix it?

I want to add more thant 8 Gpus(rx580) to my Win10 Rig. Is there anyway to get afterburner working with this driver? undervolting/overclocking in sgminer dont working too. i tried also Crimson Driver 17.11.1 -.2 but the same result

im just wondering how to make profit...i did some calculations

for example monero on Nanopool
i took calculated earnings from other miners and calculated what i would get with my 100.000h/s

price 0.05btc
hashpower 100.000h/s
runtime ~24h

east xmr 1.879 = ~0.048btc

i did the same calculations for other coins...i never see any profit...

can somebody explain me whats the point about renting hashpower? is it just gambling and hopping the price of the mined coin will go high?

Hello i got a weird problem with my rig, it makes a beeping noise every few seconds...maybe some of you can help me to solve it
first of all my configuration

6*Rx580 Red Dragon 8GB / Hynix Memory
Bios:
Sapphire Trixx Straps @ 1750-2250
Gpu 1130Mhz @ 950Volt
Claymores Miner 9.8
Rig is running stable...no crashes no hang ups
Msi Afterburner config you can see in the Picture below

I first mined with DCRI 9 but then i had a very unstable effective hashrate all the time, when i change DCRI to 30 im getting lower reported hashrate but stable effective around 175mhs but then the beeping starts
As you can see in the picture every time gpu power has a peak down i hear one beep. all gpus beeping alternately like a melody



so any ideas?

im thinking about to change all gpu core straps to 1130mhz/950volts
