This post is about a device I'm making that will hard reset mining rigs remotely.
Long ago I got tired of having to reset my miners in person whenever they went down. Being an electronics and software developer I decided to make something to do it for me that attached to the reset/power pins of the motherboard. Prototype number 1 in attached image, looking after 10 precious Eth miners:
System works as expected. If a rig goes down all I have to do is send a signal to a website to reset it, and hey presto - no more trips across town! I've even integrated it into my own ethermine monitoring software to reset non-reporting machines. I recently had a 2 week holiday and didn't have to check anything...!
I'm posting here to see if anyone is interested in me providing these devices to them with the following features to start with:
Features for V1:
- Remote reset (obviously).
- API so you can integrate the devices with your software (or maybe the mining pools can do this on your behalf?)
- Multiple rig power control from each device (probably up to 20 attached devices)
- Ethernet enabled for reliability (maybe WiFi as well for V2, if wonky wireless connections are your thing)
Pricing:
- Subscription (hey, I gotta eat!)
- Device, power, accessories and cabling are free if a minimum spend applies
- Minimum spend: $2 - $3 per month per reset port (i.e. per rig) with a minimum of 10 ports to qualify for free hardware
Warranty:
- As long as you're subscribing then then the devices are covered (no time limit applies)
- Replacement instantly sent to you on reporting of a fault, at my expense
- Think of it as "hardware as a service"
