41  Other / Off-topic / What would you do if you won $1Billion+ Powerball/Lottery? on: November 06, 2022, 03:49:15 AM
I'd start a trust fund or self sustaining family company.
Aiming for real estate, commercial and residential.(apartment complexes, franchises and houses)
Snowballing most profits into more properties/investment portfolios,compounding any high interest thing I can find while only absorbing a nominal % of profits.
 My family wouldn't know but I'd have them on the trust and everyone eventually would start getting 2-6k a month from said trust, and the trust could continue growth.

I wanna hear what some of you guys would do aside from the buy a big house and a lambo. How would you turn 1billion into 2+?

45  Economy / Services / 1SPLiTKEY.com The easy, secure and mostly free vanity wallet service closed/down on: May 06, 2022, 04:10:48 PM
Due to lack of interest (both parties myself and customers), we will no longer be maintaining this, and we do not own the tld (1splitkey.com) anymore.
Thanks to all who gave it a shot and used it. I enjoyed this project, but these days I'm shifting away from this kind of work and focusing on different endeavors. 3/9/23

I'd like to introduce to you fine folks of bitcointalk to www.1SPLiTKEY.com
This is a simplified vanity wallet generation service that utilizes split keys for secure vanity wallet generation. And is a labor of love.
We utilize Jean Luc's Vanity Search and pointbiz's bitaddress.org and have proprietary software and 2 servers to handle request.
This is our attempt to simplify a service that can be intimidating to the newcomer's or retail investor's.
While remaining secure, cheap and educational in the process.
Our process is all automated, You submit your public key, desired prefix, email and payment if necessary.
Payment is only due for extended work. ~6+ Digits Average
If you submit something like 1BiLL or 1test expect it in your email in about 1 min.
Sometimes we do not get so lucky and quotes can be exceeded, if multiple orders are in they are First In First Out.
We have an in house difficulty formula based on time, In general we try to provide free prefixes in under 5 mins.
If our farm grows and we can generate most 7 digit wallets in under 5 mins it'll be free.
Wallets under 55,527,913,159 Difficulty are absolutely free. This generally adds up to about 5/6 digits.
Free users won't be able to make another request for 7 days or 168 hours from the original submission.
We will only email you from result@1splitkey.com or support@1splitkey.com.
We do not quote on wallet length alone.

Here is a general breakdown of the pricing structure.
11111=Free
111111=$2.50 (5 digits)
1111111=$651.50 (6 digits)
1234567=Free (6 digits)
12345678=$2.50 (7 digits)
123456789=$117.50 (8 digits)
1ABCDEFG=$2.50 (7 digits)
1ABCDEFGH=$117.50 (8 digits)
1AbCdEfGh=$58.70 (8 digits case insensitive)
If all case-able = 50% discount if partially case-able 30% discount if none case-able 0% discount
1-9, o,i & L are non case-able characters.

Our quotes are as accurate as we can be for in house purposes with median ranges factored in based on time to complete.
We did this to prevent operating at a loss or email you guys saying we cant do it.
We run a combination eth mining rigs to achieve this with proprietary software assigning workers,
logging speeds and an api callback server relaying said data.
We've essentially created a real vanity searching mining pool(workaround),
and relay to website for time estimates.
We accept BTC and LN (LN for those pesky $1.00-$2.50 orders)
We strive to be the definitive service in splitkey generation.
There's many services like this but not so many that offer the security of splitkeys,
we also offer the most free work whether its splitkeys or not by about 100-200% more as far as length generally goes.
Even a simple 6 digit case insensitive wallet can be done in about a minute or two,
It's like not hitting a mining share for few mins,
so we figured we could afford to give this away for free.
We understand a lot of this community can do this on their own already,
But maybe you don't have a good gpu, or your farms leased on MRR/vast.ai, you need one quickly, or you want extensive branding,
or a friend wants one and you lack the time to teach them how, whatever the reason our service is here!

We also seek social media/community management service's and SEO services.
Keep in mind we are a mostly free and altruistic service so we do not have a lot of $/BTC to toss around for these services.

Our social media accounts
Twitter
Discord This is just an easy way to contact us for live support, and see updates.
Youtube (Nothing here yet, instructional and software demonstration videos coming soon)

Here's what our forked tool looks like (we pruned out unnecessary headers from bitaddress.org)
You can verify the tool with SHA256 (5/7/22)
Directly from Github= SHA256: 3dec33145960ae1331703610c3045d2d110bd09aa8ead18a87893008b9d5a153

Current issue's that could be deemed problematic.
Since our service is new there may be unidentified issues yet to come bear with us!
Considering we don't charge for 95% of our work we hope for productive feedback.
Please report any bugs/issues you may find to support@1splitkey.com or pm me here

1. Some problems have what we call a pivot , this in an increase in binary byte size and increases difficulty weather the problem is long or not.
We have identified cause and effect but have yet to implement the solution.
So if you submit a problem with a pivot that is free it may be up to 30mins - 1hour mins to get the work.
Eventually we will identify pivots through the client side calculator (website), and increase the difficulty accordingly.
In the meantime if you know there's a pivot when submitting your work just know you are pending other user's that may be submitting potentially legitimate work,
submitted work like this may be cancelled if we see intentional pivot abuse.
Example. 1QLbz7 would be considered intentional abuse of our system. This service isn't for testing pivots you are already aware of.

2. Prefixes with A-Q as first digit and case insensitive option selected should be typed in with 1st digit as a capitol letter for the lowest quote opportunity.
For example with case insensitive selected
1ABCDEF=Free 1abcdef=$1.00 but will have the same type of result.
We will be implementing lowest common denominator to difficulty soon, probably while we implement a byte checker in our internal calculator.

3.Revisiting/Resubmitting after 168 hours for a free problem doesn't open a confirmed window, but work is actually submitted on IE/Edge browsers.

4. Quotes may not pinpoint true difficulty onsite if using things like pivots and case insensitive prefixes,
this is due to in house formula on case insensitive problems and pivots not being addressed.
For example If all case-able = 50% discount if partially case-able 30% discount if none case-able 0% discount
1-9, o,i & L are non case-able characters.

Future planned updates/releases.

p2sh and bech32 are already implemented however they are blocked for the time being until we finish front end via calculator/quoting
We will not be releasing a merge tool for p2sh and bech32 as this will be an advanced user option.
however we invite people to implement it on our bitaddress.org fork Here
such a feature is out of my scope of work/capabilities. If someone makes it happen on the fork we will implement it fully.
we likely won't even acknowledge p2sh and bech32 on the front end unless appropriate hash for the public key is entered.
for the time being this is a legacy only service.

We may opt to provide the proprietary software to potential customer with farms already to solve public work.
This would enable mkps/time quotes to be increased/decreased therefore reducing cost on for example a 9 digit problem.
The proprietary software was designed to be very universal for future opportunities such as scraping vanitypool or chipping in on bitcoin puzzles/key searching.
Its a software handler with IFTTT arguments. Its not tied to a single program/miner.
With that being said we are pretty reluctant to give it away for the time being.
We are constantly updating and improving the tool for 17 Months now.
Here is a little about how the calculator works and more details on the service itself in this soft announcement.

LoyceV has pointed out the possibilities of our github being compromised in the future so we will be implementing checksums for our merge tool very soon (posted 5/6/22)

This image of our proprietary software is a few revisions back but should give you an idea of what it does.

This topic is self moderated for the purposes of discouraging FUD and false information.
We do not log base keys and this service was designed with security and transparency in mind.
Even if our server is hacked all that's leaked is email, public key, partial private and wallet.
If our end point customers has done due diligence as instructed,
they will be fine in the event of us being compromised by design.
If you feel we are up to no good voice your concerns in Scam Accusations or Investigations
However I am here to help educate on legitimate concerns, and I am open to being educated.
These type of concerns will not be deleted or debated in a negative manner.
This topic will be edited, modified and updated as needed.

We hope this service suits the needs of its users!
We are offering a maker vouch of batch splitkey wallets up to 7 digits(or less) & 100 wallets(or less)
this vouch is contingent an endorsement of our service and an agreement of difficulty/prefix.
We highly recommend maker submit 1 pub-key per wallet in this vouch offer.

Thanks for your interest and I hope we can do business!

My 9 year old wants to get into mining without it being to disruptive, I figured I could trade for a simple unit or make a micro mining tower out of this 5700xt
She would prefer the voskcoin doge miners for aesthetics
lets make a deal I personally dont see these things valued right on ebay looking at it from a money standpoint vs the gpu, so if nothing realistic hits I'll just paint and sticker a small atx case with the gpu.
but hey, figured it worth a shot. escrow with Philipma1957 if need be.

49  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Budget Mining 101 Common sense Mining for around $1000~ or less. on: April 04, 2022, 12:33:11 AM
Hello budget miners! I figured we could source valid profitable cheap entry-level mining ideas and equipment and processes in one post.
I will keep this updated to the best of my ability with suggestions and postings in the Bitcoin > Mining board.

 Graphics card Mining
It's a good start for a 1 GPU mining rig, you won't make a lot but its something you can run at home with multiple algorithm options leave it a good long term option as well as your operation grows.
Your looking at about $1.00-$3.00 a day this route depending on your Graphics card, minus the electricity cost. A 2080ti opens many algorithm options.
Here some profit calculators that are easy to use Nicehash profit calculator or check out WhatToMine profit calculator.
You can generally build a really cheap rig with old Dell Optiplex 790 systems or like-minded end of life systems. And a PCIe to x4 USB PCIe adapter just make sure its pcie usb and not a usb 3.0 adapter. these open up expansion opportunities on your low end board for around $20-$30.
If you dont have a powerful PSU try out separate ones with the cards and risers running on the same power supply with a power supply tester or a PSU bridge ($4)
Its a temporary solution but will get you by until you can find a deal on something of better quality.

Currently Not profitable

Helium Mining

Helium mining is another way and probably the most profitable as far as equipment cost goes, 1k should get you a nice top of the line setup, A lorawan helium router $450-700 on ebay right now (bobcats are the best from what I hear, but avoid sensecap and syncrobit) , antenna (5.8dbi or 8dbi) lmr400 cable , copper rod, lightning arrestor,  4ft satellite mast, cat8 and some awg10 wire for your lightning arrest system.
If your lucky and have a rohn tower at your house you can make about 50% more then the network average putting it 10+ft above your roofline. every foot of LMR-400 cable degrades your signal about 0.04 DBI
(so a 30' cable =1.2DB strength degrade so turns a 5.8dbi antenna into a 4.6 dbi antenna essentially)
I make about $4-$7 a day on a helium router 35' in the air on a 5.8 dbi antenna. The wonderful thing about them is they only use about $1 in electricity a month.
If you go this route dont shy away from moving the antenna outside , before I put mine outside I ran it in a window and made like $30 a month,
My helium router outperforms all my other gear profit to cost wise. The crappy thing about them is you can only really run one profitably at home but if you have friends that would let you install one around town you can make a killing! (just check helium maps and dont install too close to other helium routers or your profits will go down, they can measure signal RSSI strength and if its too strong they can tell your too close to another unit/s.
Helium map to see coverage
Antenna mast for your roof
LMR400 cable with with N Female and RP-SMA Male Connectors
Lightning Arrestor
4FT Copper Rod
Copper grounding wire

I believe in BTC all these little methods such as eth mining and hnt mining are just ways to get more BTC much more efficiently. Also considering 90% of BTC is mined up already I personally feel that entering the asic game right now is a fopaux. It seems like every other day I read about a new 100-500MW asic mining operation opening, I can make the same as any asic with much less electricity and less purchasing cost, and I can run at home. (remember shipping to a datacenter is a longer roi since it adds to overall investment cost especially if your insuring your investment)

s17 64th
2900watts
cost $3500
earns $12.90 a day
uses $8.30 a day in power. @ 12c kwh
profits $4.60

rtx 3080
225watts
cost $1400
earns $4.65 a day
uses $0.60 a day in power @12c kwh
profits $4.02

hnt miner
5 watts (lets say 10 for shits n giggles)
cost $650
earns ~$3-$10 a day
uses $0.03-$0.05 in power @12c kwh
Profits $3~10
50  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Prefix Difficulty Calculator c# assistance please! Base code included in post. on: March 30, 2022, 10:55:29 PM
We could really use some help with this
Needs accurate output, somewhere *58 or /58 adds a wrong operation
case insensitive /2 disabled for 1-9 i,o and L and implemented for the rest?
or some type of workaround that's accurate.

explanation on the case insensitive argument
most searchers user a /2 formula for case insensitive
 for example
1oojoo1 =888446610539
but
-c 1oojoo1 =444223305269
but in this case only 1/6 can be decreased
leaving 16.6666666667% of the prefix able to be divided by 2
(8.3333333333) therefore a reduction of 8.3333333333% of the initial 888446610539 difficulty
this means the adjusted difficulty is truly 74037217544 (I think Huh) with a case insensitive option applied.

I really am out of my league on this the following formulas have been reversed engineered to the best of our ability and is obviously still incorrect.
I'd like to credit OverGril for helping me attempt to solve this we are trying to create a service thats mostly free to all but we need more pinpoint accuracy in order to do this.

Help us figure this out so we can plug it into a input field and output a true difficulty so we can do accurate time estimates.

PM me accurate solution/formula for a reward

53  Economy / Computer hardware / SXM2 Motherboard and 2 daughterboards (all needs work) on: February 26, 2022, 07:01:58 PM
I have 1 c4140 with a damaged pcie slot (basically useless anyways) a bent M4 downlink lane connector *(unused in certain configs) and cpu1 socket has 7 bent or missing pins
I have 2 daughter boards one will be salvages and missing a sxm2 6a power connector clip (pins still there) + 3 damaged pin pads , 2 slots should be fine , other daughterboard in better shape bent pins (very few) on pad is bad but in repairable shape for a HomeLab situation
I cannot provide sxm2 chips , lapping brackets or basically any other parts associated with these , however I can provide part numbers and might have parts available as data centers are upgrading to sxm4
I cannot provide any ram, processors or link cables or daughterboard power cables, these boards are as is and not guaranteed to work i dont power them up until work is done so they at least they wont be shorted or anything like that.

the damage occurs from being tossed in a gaylord by unassuming staff that don't understand what they are before sending them down the line to be scrapped.
Ill come edit this as needed will possibly be plucking donor parts,caps diodes ect.
PM for more details or pics.
I dont have a price in mind just want them to go to someone who will appreciate them. I don't want to give them away either though I may have enough nidic ultraflo 1u fans for a setup.

update*
------------
Majority of the pins are bent into shape, (had a guy come with a bunch of micro tweezer, lights, magnifying glasses all that neat stuff )
cpu slot one still missing a couple pins, but will no longer cross, the pcie slot should still be de-soldered and replaced.
both daughterboards are in much better shape and should be ready to plug in and test
I have found the following parts i could include to help
1x mlb 4a/7a -4b/7b power dpn 0ynp05
2x mlb/plxpwr 5b/6b 5a/6a (can be used for multiple lanes) dpn 0528cn
1x M3/M4 pcie DN1/DN2 cable  dpn 0y6tgj
1x sxm2 1u heatsink
1x sxm2 lapping bracket (these are for mounting the smx2 and heatsink to motherboard )
