1  Other / Meta / Would you like a redesign for Bitcoin Talk? on: April 11, 2018, 09:56:59 PM

2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Where and on what do you spend crypto in your city? on: April 10, 2018, 09:11:30 AM
Hey guys,

We all know that crypto is now largely an investment asset, but as the development and mass adoption, crypto is also increasingly becoming a way to pay for goods and services directly. Share please your experience of the direct crypto spending, in your city. If you spend, then where and what do you usually buy or order, in particular in physical stores or other establishments? If not, then what would you possibly like?

I'm Dether deep-contributor and your answers can help my research and the subsequent development of this ecosystemly decentralized p2p\b2p exchange. Dether, which supports by Consensys, recently launched the first dapp beta release for Shops http://shop.dether.io (the release for People will be before the end of April). Almost any offline business in any country can easily be listed on Dether map and soon they will be able to receive crypto as payments for their goods and services, as well as to make a crypto-cash exchange, which can become an additional income for the business. Whether it's a local food or tech shop, a cafe, a foodtruck on the beach or even a nightclub. If you would like to spend your crypto in your favorite places in your city, but they don’t yet accept it - just show them Dether dapp Roll Eyes

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you buy or sell crypto for cash? on: March 20, 2018, 12:19:59 PM
Hey guys,

I'm doing a little research now about using cash (paper money) for direct buying or selling crypto in different countries and I need your help. Could you share please your experience of such deals in your country? In what way are you doing this? And what were the problems or the advantages of this way? If you can, please tell about which country you speak, then this research will be more practical.

The results of this research can help improve Dether dapp the beta release of which will be in the coming days (the first dapp beta release for Business already launched http://shop.dether.io). The main strategic mission of this project is the breaking barriers to the mass adoption of Ether and crypto in general. The team believes that a convenient, mobile, decentralized, p2p way to buy and sell crypto for cash is able to significantly contribute to this and their opinion is shared by Consensys in the person of Ethereum co-founder, Joseph Lubin, which support them. I'm also long-standing and sincere contributor to Dether and I will be grateful to you for your help in this research Smiley

p.s.
Recently, Dether team interviewed citizens of ten countries to learn how to deal with the purchase / sale of crypto in general, in their countries. If you are interested to know what crypto enthusiasts from Tanzania, Czech Republic, Senegal, Vietnam, Congo, Philippines and others countries talk about it, you can get acquainted with the results of the interview in this Medium article https://medium.com/@DETHER/the-good-the-bad-and-the-ingenuitive-what-it-is-really-like-to-buy-and-sell-cryptocurrency-8fdfbfc2aee7. In this thread, as you already understood, I want to learn about the ways of buying / selling crypto directly for cash.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Not a simple puzzle with $6000 prize on: February 14, 2018, 07:09:48 PM
Hey guys,

For several hours I and many others in Telegram have been trying to solve this crazy and fun puzzle that Wysker's team launched. But so far no one has even got close, given that there were hints and is actually a joint search. The meaning of the task is simple. It's necessary to view Wysker video in which the 6 hidden codes from the private key to the wallet, in which there are 100000 WYS tokens, which are equal to $6000 (according to the ICO price). I've watched video 10 times, frame by frame, but I didn't even find one code Cheesy The project is really cool and it involves even more.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / They raised $6M and disappeared leaving the word "penis" on the site on: January 29, 2018, 02:33:53 PM
It looks like we've reached a special point.
The Lithuanian project Prodeum, which raised $6M during its ICO, disappeared with investors' money leaving only the word "penis" on the site https://twitter.com/thelateempire/status/957527371221028865
How do you like that, guys?

THREAD RULES
- I will update this list as soon as I find new ICOs of the projects with the working product;
- I will update this list as far as your proposals if the proposed projects will comply with the rules of the thread;
- I will update the statuses of the projects as they change (upcoming \ ongoing \ ended);
- This list includes only projects with a working product (alpha, beta or release version);
- Projects with demo are not included;
- Projects that have completed their IСOs before I heard about them are not included;
- Projects that relate to gambling, sex, alcohol, drugs, weapons are not included, even if they have a working product;
- Some of the proposed projects with a working product may not be included in the list by my decision;
- Projects that cause me suspicion of a scam or in my opinion are unperspecific will not be included in this list;
- The availability of a working product doesn't guarantee the success of a project or the fact that it can't be a scam;
- This list is not an investment advice. Always do individual research;

NOTIFICATION of 9 February
Guys, in our list, almost all the projects with the working product are finished!
Please, help me with the replenishment of the list Roll Eyes

In general, as you understand, this shows us well the situation on the market. In addition to scams, many are ready to work only after receiving the money.
This doesn't correspond to the spirit of true entrepreneurship and great breakthroughs and this isn't a good confirmation of serious intentions and, in general, the strength and potential of the teams. So, I urge all crypto community to require the teams to get real first results before ICO. Maximum, at an early stage, projects without a working product, but with serious intentions can hold only PRE-ICO, requesting small amounts (up to $500000, depending on the concept and scope of the project), and in the case of a successful PRE-ICO, the projects must definitely have a working product with real users and good traction before the subsequent ICO (if it necessary). I think this approach is correct for the majority of projects, but I don't exclude the existence of exceptions, of course.

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Do you support direct payment in ETH for bounty? on: November 01, 2017, 01:30:26 PM
Hey, guys.
I have an important question at my discretion.
Projects raise millions of dollars in ETH. Participants of the bounty campaigns significantly help them to do this.
Would it be fair if the participants will receive ETH for their work? Or 50 to 50?
What do you think about it?

I created a vote on this issue in this topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2344753.0
If you feel fit, vote please.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Do you support direct payment in ETH for bounty? (POLL) on: November 01, 2017, 12:52:14 PM
Hey, guys.
Projects raise millions of dollars in ETH. Participants of the bounty campaigns significantly help them to do this.
Would it be fair if the participants will receive ETH for their work? Or 50 to 50?

Update on April 8, 2018
What would you say about this issue given the current situation in the market?

It has been a long time since the publication of this thread. It seems to me that we have a very interesting discussion here and thank you to everyone who has already expressed his opinion earlier. Let's continue the discussion and maybe we'll even come to some collective action, that will help improve the "game" rules for all ecosystem participants and probably improve the ecosystem itself.

Update on July 14, 2018
To date, we have examples of 4 projects that paid or will pay bounties in ETH (fully or partially) or conducted a poll.

- DAOstack
- LiveTREE
- Exchange Union
- GUTS Tickets (upon completion of the bounty campaign, a closed poll was held among the participants, regarding the form of payment. As a result, payments are made in GET tokens. The results of the poll have not been published yet)

p.s. If you know other examples, please share the information here, even if the bounty campaign has already ended;

PAY ATTENTION
An important thing that all bounty participants should consider, regardless of what form of payment it is, there is no need to support shitty projects or projects that carry no real value and usefulness or are a hundredth copy of the original or especially scam.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why does no one pay ETH for services? on: October 17, 2017, 10:48:01 PM
After reading the comments in different topics I see that there really are no other ways of earning ETH, except for mining, buying or faucets. But this is strange for me. For example, why do projects raise such large ETH amounts during the ICOs, but pay for services only with their tokens or, in rare cases, bitcoins? (I mean the bounty campaigns). Or why people invest so much ETH, but there are no services on Bitcoin Talk for which they pay ETH? What's the secret? Undecided
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / When the bounty campaign is weak, but the ICO is successful on: October 07, 2017, 04:27:50 PM
Hi guys,

Perhaps you have encountered situations when some projects have a weak or completely failed bounty campaign, but ultimately they hold a successful ICO. Why is this happening?

For example, the project Ambrosus with whom I happened to deal. In the comments to the bounty campaign there are complaints that nothing can be understood in the campaign rules. And there really is not as usual. Probably therefore the number of participants in the signature campaign, Twitter and other programs is minimal, but the project has already raised more than 100000 ETH. Is this an exception or is it so often?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / What are the good signature campaigns for Jr.Members? on: September 28, 2017, 11:57:38 AM
Hey guys! Please share which signature campaigns are now good for Jr. Member? Of course, I'm looking for and analyze myself, but your advice I would have been very helpful.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How to determine scam or not? A solution by Kickico on: September 28, 2017, 12:13:17 AM
Hey, guys. I have a question about Kickico platform. Recently, the project founder said that the community will decide which ICO to launch, and which are scam and should be burned https://hackernoon.com/community-choice-ff9dac51f5ad. Do you think this will work effectively and we really get a cleaner projects list for investments?
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / TOP 30 successful ICO campaigns in 2017 (INFOGRAPHIC). What conclusions? on: September 23, 2017, 11:51:42 PM
Hey guys. I just made an infographic of the TOP 30 successful ICO campaigns in 2017. You can check it below.
Well, the icebreaker is gaining momentum. But what conclusions can be drawn from this list and the real results from these companies today?

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Why are there no bounty signature campaigns for newbies? on: September 19, 2017, 08:55:25 PM
Why projects don't allow newbies to participate? We still ask a lot of questions and we're also noticeable Grin
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / ICO's Live data: raised now on: September 15, 2017, 06:56:10 PM
Is there a source with a full list of the ongoing ICO's and raised investments by each project now? Anyone know such, tell me plzz? I couldn't find.
