I'm a European, who might relocate to China soon. As a cryptocurrency trader, what can I expect?

I know the Chinese exchanges are in the process of shutting down. However, will I have access to international exchanges? Or will I need a VPN for that? What else do I need to take into account as an expat trader in China?
