Finally decided to get involved in TIME last week after dragging my feet on OHM because I did not want to pay the ETH gas fees when I wanted to add more or unstake OHM. With TIME being on the AVAX chain its so easy to get started and the returns seem amazing which is always a red flag. Its early in the project and it has some serious potential if the team stays on track but was looking for others opinions on if you are or are not taking part in these? I gave the guide a good readthrough and the team behind it seems solid and very involved. https://docs.wonderland.money/

I suppose they probably shut down well before the mining ban in China but seems odd they vanished. Back when they were active they were mining around 174 block per month from April 2020 until Feb 2021 when they just stopped with 1 block mined in March. Looks like they rebranded the website Roadside Mining but they are not doing anything at all. Looks like they should have amassed about $1billion worth of BTC in that time frame. Most of the miners seemed to have been located in China and Iran. I was curious as we usually can trace or see where most of those miners move when larger pools shut down. Anyone happen to know what happened to them?

I was trying to activate and install HiveOS so I could mine on Wifi in my garage as my farm started to expand but kept getting crashes and issues with Hive for a few hours. I decided to try using windows but not activating and I am very impressed at how simple it was and how quickly I got up and running. That and the ability to quickly switch to different programs or lesser known miners without having to wait for support is nice. For those of you looking to do the same, I recommend just following the simple steps listed at the below website. Recommend doing Windows 10 Pro so you get Remote Desktop. Most may know this but for the new guys looking for an alternative to the other OS and not wanting to purchase Windows. https://www.windowscentral.com/you-do-not-need-activate-windows-10

I put together a quick guide for those who may be new trying to enter mining. I did not include GPUs as that can be a challenge but put together a guide that can get a newbie started for everything they need minus the cards for under $500 USD. Depending on the route you go possibly under $400. Also included some starting points for prices that I would consider reasonable in today's market for GPUs. The thing that kills many new miners is thinking paying over $1000 for a 1080ti is okay. Most of the veterans know all this info but hopefully, this can help someone who is new to mining and may find this post through a search. https://theminerhub.com/mining/budget-mining-rig-build-2018/

I was just thinking about it today. While it does not truly affect me as I am still aways out from ranking up I know I see alot of the complaints about people who were very close to the next rank. While I truly support the idea of a merit system I think it would be a good idea to revisit what everyone started at. If you started with merit that was an overall percentage of how close you were to the next rank based on activity you would not feel as you were that far behind. I am not sure if that is something that has been talked about or is possible but I think with that in place it would ease some of the heartburn for guys who may have been just a few days or so away from ranking up.

I see far too many posts on here asking for the best coin to invest in which is followed by pages and pages of bounty seeking posters that just say a coin with no data or analysis behind it. This usually will lead to many users just loading up on it and then having no idea why it crashed or wasn't successful. Now more than ever it's important to understand why you are investing in a coin. This is the method I use when I evaluate each addition to my portfolio and it works well. Granted nothing is foolproof and even the most rock solid investor is wrong every once and awhile, but at least you will understand why. https://theminerhub.com/news/what-to-do-before-investing-in-an-altcoin/

I have a friend of mine who is looking to build his first rig. He is looking to use the MSI Enthusiastic Gaming Intel Z270 M7 http://amzn.to/2Dj4tWU to build a 6 card rig. He wants to run them all on risers on an open air frame. I have only ever built rigs using the PCIe slots but this board has 3 and 3. Can he plug risers into the full slots? If so is there something in the BIOS he needs to change to work properly?

I have been pretty lucky with GPUs all being fine since I started mining (cant say the same for PSUs). Is this the sound of a bad bearing? Sounds like crickets. https://streamable.com/61arc

I am running into an issue with my ASUS B250 Mining motherboard.
Everything was working fine with 3x 1070s on risers and a 1070ti plugged into the board itself. I was running a 1000w GQ EVGA PSU. I am expanding for more cards and purchased a EVGA 1000 G2 PSU to add with one additional 1070 for the moment.
I plugged in everything with PSU 1 powering the CPU, 1 GPU, SSD and the board into slot A and the other PSU into slot C (since PSU slot B is covered by the onboard card)
When I turned it on both PSU click as if they want to turn on however only the cards powered by PSU in slot C turn on. The CPU, SSD and board remain off.
I swapped PSU sides and I can get everything to turn on except the onboard GPU which powers on but the fans shut stutter on and off for a second and the SSD never boots up.
Not sure where to start here.

I am using the ASUS Mining Board and expanding to my second PSU. In an effort to save some extra connectors I am running one GPU on the MB directly which covers the PSU B slot.
Can I just use the PSU slots A and C and skip over using B?

Finally fixed my rig and moved some cards around and wanted to ask a question. My 3x 1070 MSI Gaming X are running at around 2012 MHz for all three but my EVGA 1070ti is only showing 1860 MHz is this normal? Screenshot attached (first shot is 1070 second is 1070 ti. https://imgur.com/a/mohKVMy 1070 ti is running directly off the MB and my 1070s are on risers. The Ti often times is about 502 Sols/s but sometimes drops to the mid to low 470 sol/s making it perform worse than the 1070. Is this normal or does something look off, I didnt expect the Ti to perform worse than the 1070s?

I added a fourth GPU. A Evga 1070 ti to my rig with 3 1070s. Everything works fine and i had 4 cards in it before running fine just decided to replace one with a 1070ti and was running great for 3 hours but there is a faint burning smell but I can’t pinpoint it. Nothing seemed off. The only thing wrong on my rig is one of the slide locks on my mint cell risers snapped off in an incident weeks ago but the card is fully inserted and functioning fine. I’m not sure if the smell is due to the heat they are putting off or what it could be. To ensure my wife can sleep tonight I turned the rig off and will troubleshoot again tomorrow but don’t know where else to check or how to check if everything is working fine. Any thoughts?
My system set up is 3x 1070 MSI Gaming X 1x EVGA 1070 Ti EVGA 1k PSU 3 Mint Cell Risers 120gb SSD Win 10
OC Settings are +150 Core +600 Mem on Equihash with EWBF
When mining Afterburner is telling me my GPU usage is 100% on all of them

I have been mining GRS on miningpool.cloud but wanted to switch over to Suprnova. I am using CCminer with 4 1070s.
When I enter the below information as my .bat I get the following list of errors. Then it just lists my GPUs and hashrates over and over again. What am I doing wrong?
ccminer -a groestl -u [username.rigname] -p [password] -i 0 -o stratum+tcp://grs.suprnova.cc:5544 exit /B

About a week ago I started mining VTC with One Click Miner. First day it worked great. I stopped for a few days to focus on something else but wanted to return to VTC. I starting mining again last night and woke up to see GPU 0 has stopped mining.
I rebooted and everything worked fine for 10 mins then GPU 0 stopped again while the other 3 cards continued working fine. I would close and restart the miner and the same thing would happen GPU 0 would stop after 10-14 minutes.
I took all OC settings off GPU 0 except TDP at 80% and again the same thing happened. All 4 cards are MSI GTX 1070s Gaming Xs bought around the same time. GPU 0 handles Zcash with no issues and a much more aggressive OC.
What could be the reason just GPU 0 stops mining out of the blue?
