1  Local / Suche / Suche trusted member, der für mich was per Paypal bezahlt on: October 30, 2015, 10:17:27 AM
Hallo zusammen,

Dann bitte PM an mich.

2  Economy / Scam Accusations / Site demucweb02.webwo.net is phishing for blockchain.info passwords on: September 09, 2014, 09:07:23 PM
Just got a phishing mail claiming that an attempt was made to log in to my blockchain wallet.

See https://www.phishtank.com/phish_detail.php?phish_id=2650156 (that report wasn't by me, but is about just that site)

So whenever you get an e-mail directing you to some purported bitcoin web site, double/triple check! Most if not all of them are scams!

Just noticed that bitcoinity.org added a checkbox for logarithmic display!

Great move!

Nette (naheliegende) Idee - Billard liegt mir jedenfalls mehr als Online-Poker...

Da viele Bitcoin-Begeisterten auch mit Gold flirten, hier mal ein interessanter Artikel dazu.

7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / New mining calculator taking difficulty development into account on: May 30, 2013, 09:49:44 AM
We've seen the rapid increase in mining power during recent weeks, and many mining result calculators still provide estimates based on a fixed difficulty which can be quite misleading.
Here's a mining calculator that takes difficulty increases into account (it calculates estimated daily difficulty change based on the last 10 actual difficulty changes):

Try it, you'll be surprised by the results!

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Analyzing spam for cash - does anyone have a need for this? on: May 09, 2013, 02:11:52 PM
I've been thinking about the things I do well and how I could offer them for BTC - I'm a programmer but will likely not be able to work through serious projects as I am employed full-time.
However, I have extensive experience in mail system administration and spam fighting, so one possibility might be to help people understand where their spam is coming from, what patterns there are to it, and what they can do against it.
I am not sure how this would be done - one option would be to build a web site where users could upload their spam to be analyzed mostly using heuristics (automatic, fast, cheap) but have the option of getting a more in-depth analysis by a human (that's me) for a little more.
However, I have no idea how much such a service should cost. I'd probably start with 0.01-0.02 BTC for a personal analysis involving 5-15 minutes of web search, whois lookups, comparison with my own database etc. and 0.0001-0.001 BTC for an automated analysis (which I don't yet have programmed, but that would be done when I think there is a market).
This service would not try to compete with typical spam-filtering services but would work on single spam samples.

Do you think anybody would find this useful? Or do folks just accept that spam is getting into their mailboxes and that spamfilters can only do a moderately good job at eliminating it?
