As well known now, Electroneum is super exciting.  I have seen a couple questions raised.

1. Why isn't the blockchain source on the page?
My Thoughts-  First,  it is unique and because of the ICO explosion it is smart to keep it until launch. They have however fully explained things to the ones who have raised the question.

2.  The app for mining isn't real mining.
My thoughts- Again, they explain this.  I think it is genius.  Like the BTC or other faucets that started many on the Crypto path except real and tangible coins gained while playing a game (I heard they have screenshots, anyone seen them?)  No transaction time or charge will help new crypto users catch on quick.

Hey Anyone reading this. It’s my story and I would like feedback negative or positive.  I posted pieces of it before but well…


My name is Jeff.  At the moment I am working very hard to get involved with the whole crypto community.  I should have been involved earlier but here is the thing. I am a recovering alcoholic.  I loved computers ever since I touched my first one (either a tandy or commodore 64, I had both).  Programming was and still is my dream.  I tried the systems way of education but that failed miserably. I let an illness go unchecked for many years. I want to benefit others that have suffered like me but I’ll get back to that.  I KNEW how world-changing bitcoin would be and is back in 2013.  In the deadly grip of alcohol though I did nothing but the faucet.  Losing family, friends and my own self almost killed me but now I have hope.  Being clean and excited about these revolutionary developments in crypto and the potential of blockchain technology I am building a life from the ground up at 33years old.  Programming is a passion of mine so much that I know I can be of use to the digital world.   Strangely enough addiction is a disease the human race suffers from and denial causes major problems.  Addictions do not have to be drugs or alcohol.  They can be good or bad but we thrive on the things that make us feel good.  I have been to 2 rehabs in the United States and one in Mexico for  5 months.  In that 5 months something happened. You see, I don’t speak Spanish.  I lived there for good reasons around good friends and family. They watched me kill myself with alcohol and I don’t know why but because of the rehab waiting list here and prices I agreed to goto an Anexo (google anexo rehab) and that was insane.  Unlike here you CANNOT leave. Always hungry, beat if you broke rules, etc.  They told family and friends that you will say anything to leave so they wouldn’t believe people.  Long story short I was in my own head for 5 months just thinking. I couldn't understand anything(although I understandmore now!) Living life on life’s terms was hard for me but now it is not.  I don’t want to be a sob story and really want nothing from anybody. I want to help people and I always have.  Problem is nowadays nobody believes that because it is all about the almighty dollar.  Of course writing this I am not saying the things correctly but I am excited so I have a goal and that is to make a token for Recovering addicts.

First goal (2-4 weeks) Design a simple website to explain the what is it and mission plan to help addicts in recovery integrate into regular society after getting clean.   It can be used in rehabs everywhere as a part of the program and carry on after completion of a rehab program.  The relapse rate of addicts is EXTREMELY high and I am an example of that. 1 out of 12 adults are estimated to suffer from alcoholism and about the same for other substances I believe. I have been hospitalized many times for alcohol withdrawal and have had life-threatening seizures.  It can help family and others learn sooo much more about the ones who are suffering and spread awareness of the problem.  Integrating into normal society is very difficult and there are many psychological and mental aspects to it.   It would be a community of ones that share a common goal of sobriety and having our own economy to give a little joy to an otherwise dark life with the light so far down the tunnel most of us can’t even see it, but we stay sober. 
Second Goal –  Find other recovering addicts/alcoholics that believe this could be a huge asset in the community.
All the other goals include fundraising and spreading the work to make the project a reality. 
With my experience with people of all ages and races that suffer from the same plague I know I can do something with my computer knowledge to make something that is exciting. 
Now though I am stuck working nights at a factory to get by.  Losing all loved ones because of a problem I did not take care of hurts bad.   It does, however, give me a new perspective on life and things that really matter.  Money is not on that list.  Of course I would love to benefit from all the ICOs and great things happening but helping others brings more joy.  I even thought of opening a rehab center myself but that can’t happen with who I am. No bank account, no degrees.  It’s just me.  Finding value as a person is important and for a bad sufferer it seems impossible to have any value as a human.  Suicidal thoughts are always coming in and out and it cannot be explained fully to those who have not suffered. 

Well that’s just my idea.  If you read this entirely hopefully it wasn’t a waste of time!

OK so I got a story but long story short I have 1s and 0s running in my blood but did nothing productive about it for many reasons. When I first learned of BitCoin I KNEW how great it was.  Electroneum seems to know exactly why and what Crypto needs to go public.  I believe that gamers created crypto and that is who they are targeting.  I have been a gamer and loved programming from my first computer (Commodor 64) until now.  Gaming is a whole science on it's own but I saw the evolution.  The first time I saw people selling digital items for cash was in the Diablo 2 days.  The rare items and things you get in games have a value to you that most of us don't even realize. We put time and effort and money into it.  As we see games have capatalized on that.  Free apps and Free to Play games are banking from in game currencies and purchases. For instance I love Team Fortress 2.  The Key bought with cash ($2.50 USD) unlocks boxes that may contain a very rare item. These items are purely cosmetic and have no affect on gameplay.  Yet some go into the thousands of dollars.  in game items became currency when worth a lot of keys. Many games use this and their is a huge market to implement Electroneum into the gaming world because it trickles all the way to the little phone apps and social media games, not just serious games.  If you don't know about Steam then that is the platform.  Steam is now accepting bitcoin, and I hope the Devs have looked into them jumping on board with Electroneum as soon as possible.  Bitcoin is not good for small in game items and not quick enough to satisfy traders.  Electroneums transaction time mixed with it being currency that can be used across any digital gaming platform can make it THE gaming money.  For instance in TF2 I traded up to 20 keys from nothing and I could have bought a game with it or just used the money for anything if I sold it all on the market. Electroneum being the standard currency would be revolutionary to the whole industry.  As much as the powers that be want to regulate things, the information age we live in hard to grasp. No more do we need to seek out information for things we want to learn. It is at our fingertips. Now I barely touched on the game theory but the blockchain makes us all work for what is best for us and the group as every single user agrees on the rules. You don't like the rules, change them. If others don't agree you have nothing, if others do then BAM! Forked. Bitcoin has established value and is the gold to back up other cryptos. So many alts right now but Electroneum has it right.  In order for the general public to see how awesome this Crypto age is they need Electroneum. No complicated blockchain explanation. Security worries are always there with any currency -fiat or digital but crypto is better then fiat hands down in security.   The simple yet genius 2 decimal point system.  If I would have stuck with my dream of video game programming then I would have been onboard with bitcoin so early it would have been me buying that pizza.  As a kid I programmed in QBasic, on my TI calculator, batch files, c++ whatever I could.  The thing about programming logic is that it is just that. Logic. Computers keep you honest in programming.  You can't argue with it although you will.  "I DIDN'T FORGET A SEMI-COLON ITS RIGHT... oh yeah".  I digress.  I thought my dream was gone now that I'm 33 but my lifes getting back together and I don't want to miss this with Electroneum so if any devs read this (doubtful) I am going to try to do what I can to enhance this launch.  I am a social media ghost but I'm guessing you have all the marketing aspect covered so I'm thinking of games that reward with coins from my own wallet or who knows. This alt seems so genuine that for the first time I am not doubting myself. I never loved crypto because of the getting rich quick potential, bonus that I have not yet taken advantage of, but rather the impossible to imagine things I can do if THAT were my money.  Electroneum is bringing crypto to the world, hold on should they deliver. Spoiler Alert: They will.

Ok so I don't have enough time to go through the postings and info I wanted so I thought "Hey, maybe someone will read this and be the answer.  I got into bitcoin way to late to mine or do much but I KNEW how great it was.  I researched in learned what I could when it was down to less than 500 USD mark.  I was not interested in making a lot of money (which I could have then had I invested) but I loved it.  Life went crazy and I messed up.  Thank you society for bulllying me into believing I was a nerd and that computers.... nevermind that is for the physciatrist.  Anyway I believe this is it and I missed the  whole mining and startup but I am willing to invest to promote bc into what it needs to (and I believe inevitably) be.   I am starting small but I really, really have the desire and knowledge to promote and start a business involving bitcoin.  So for whatever that is worth, questions:

Since I have last been around value went up tremendously but it was down for a bit because of what I believe to be the silk road thing and everyone became leary about it but now it is 10x more a coin.  Is the thing going on with China an indicator that if the same thing happens again we can get BitCoin going even stronger?

All marketing and advertising I believe is free-licensed or whatever the business term wants you to call it but is there someone out there somewhere that will impede someone from creating a business to help support and get the word out there?

Finally, any good leads on getting involved?  I am now working full-time but would like to devote time for this as I KNOW that unless this world ends, bitcoin will happen and someone will eventually buy a vintage USD $100 bill for .00000100 online for nostalgia. I already missed the boat but hey I'm 33 and this is my shot to do something I love (to be vague technology) and since it involves money (love/hate) I can get enough from it to live and make the difference I should have made 16 years ago when what all I wanted to do was know every single thing about computers.  It is hard to know where to turn.  I was there for all the huge advancements that physical companies and governments wanted to change because technology scares them.  Now big companies, government and media are trying harder than ever to to do the things the old  way but as we know they are ALL about money and this scares them more than anything. Internet censorship even in the US is a problem and on another note a decentralized ISP would be cool to finish that once and for all.   The next generation knowing all this is on already, they just have to grow up a little and the lock that business, media and government will go away because as we see, the love of money created this monster and it is great that money will destroy it. But... you know literally... bitcoin.  So yeah I'm sure this means nothing but like I said. I'm just starting.
