1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What are stable coins? on: July 20, 2018, 02:35:13 PM
What are stable coins and why do we need them?
This is one topic that catch my attentions. I have this article about stable coins and they are attracting big league investors. Will quote some part of the article.
"stable coins are designed to keep their price fixed, making them immune to manipulation trading. It could be argued that price stability will help to bring about the mass adoption of cryptocurrencies, as they are seeming more reliable and, therefore, attractive to major financial players. The recent IBM deal — along with other investments mentioned in this article — partly confirm that assumption."

Three types of stable coins can be outlined, depending on the type of collateralization they entail.

1. Fiat-collateralized
2. Non-collateralized
3. Crypto-collateralized

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / So sad to say but bitcoin is being used the wrong way! on: April 11, 2018, 07:56:20 AM
I am so dissappointed that bitcoin is being used to scam other people and part of it and sad to say that my fellow countrymen is involved on it. Yesterday, i was trying to find ggod news about bitcoin so atleast it will boost my hope in bitcoin. But i was lead to local news involving this two peson or more (will not tell their names anyway, i dony know them either). They gain a massive amount of money using bitcoin. Approximately about $12m-$15m was collected to those people who put their trust to bitcoin and believing that they will have more income. They were arrested but still not sure if the money they gathered were returned to the owners. I think this is a big syndicate involved here, there are bigger person behind it. So sad that my countrymen (which i think is just their subs) are the one who got caught and all the hates are to them. Hope this is a good warning for all the people who wants to invest on bitcoin to be observant and think first before transacting in some scammers.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Cryptocurrency miners, wants cheaper mining? on: April 10, 2018, 11:15:01 AM
This is one good news to hear especially to those are near in this places (sadly im not near in this country). There are countries that giving a cheaper electricity. "Cryptocurrency miners are moving in to Norway and Sweden to take advantage of cheap hydro-electric energy and low temperatures to power and cool their servers." according to the article from the local site. Too bad, going in that place is really expensive. But, if given the opportunity to go there and give some previlages to live there, well, i will grab it immediately (though, i still love my country). Lucky, to those who lives there and into crypto mining. If you wants some more details, will attach the link and give our opinion about.

I read this interesting articles and thinking what will the effect of this in the bounties that needed some social media campaign. This is part of the article "Facebook announced a ban on advertisements for "binary options, initial coin offerings and cryptocurrency." The blanket decision is part of the social media giant's efforts to prohibit ads for financial products and services "that are frequently associated with misleading or deceptive promotional practices."
