Btw, if you don't know what a pipa is, and are familiar with U.S. music, think aqueous transmission from Incubus.

5  Economy / Goods / [WTS] 1964 Selmer Zodiac Guitar Amp, 2008 Gibson Les Paul Traditional Pro on: June 01, 2013, 10:51:41 PM
Hello all,
I currently have these items listed on craigslist and eBay.  I wanted to shout out to you guys to support the community and also because I'm going to buy BTC with the funds anyway, lol.  Makes sense to try to sell them here.  I am 100% open to escrow by a reputable member.  On to the items..

The 1964 Selmer Zodiac is one of the most coveted guitar amps on the planet.  Used by the Beatles, Zeppelin, etc.  This is the guitar amp that was used for "House of the Rising Sun" from the Animals.  See pics and videos.  The amp is offered for BTC32 including the step-up transformer to run the amp on 110V(plug is for UK power).  The price includes shipping.

The 2008 Gibson Les Paul includes the OHSC and paperwork.  It has the heritage cherry finish with a nice flame.  I replaced the tuners with grover chrome tulips and the truss rod cover from "Traditional" to "Standard".  I will include original hardware if desired.  The Les Paul is offered for BTC14 including shipping.

6  Economy / Currency exchange / Misleading eBay Listing Titles on: June 01, 2013, 10:05:00 PM
So I am in need of some BTC and prefer to use paypal.  I'm not a high income individual, and have already blown the discretionary funds in my bank account on bitcoins.  I need to put some on credit, and I'd prefer not to use Virwox again.  I'm not the best at math, but I felt fairly short-changed after the small exchange I had with them.  Perhaps it was their low paypal spending limit that made me feel like I just didn't get much.  So I made my way to eBay to see if I could snipe an auction for some bitcoins somewhere close to the exchange rate.  I do this about five times a week and almost always fail.  Now to the main topic; one thing that lends frustration to this effort is the frequency of listings for other cryptocurrencies appearing in my searches that I want nothing to do with.  I.E. NEW CURRENCY Bitcoin RIPPLE 1750 XRP.  Am I off my rocker here?  Or is this dishonest trading?  I see this as intentionally misrepresenting the item.  Sellers are adding the word bitcoin to drive page views and hopefully (for them) sales.  So I drafted an e-mail template to start sending around to all sellers engaging in this practice.  It reads..

Quote
Hello,
I am writing you to inform you that I have reported your
listing to eBay for intentionally misrepresenting the item.  You are
selling RIPPLE currency yet include the word BITCOIN in the title.  I, as
well as eBay, know that this is done so your listing will appear when
people search for the word BITCOIN.  This is dishonest.  I'm sure you
understand why there's no room for dishonest people in the digital currency
environment.  Kindly remove the word BITCOIN from your RIPPLE auction.

Thanks,
eBayer

After feeling like I have too much time on my hands, to my surprise, one of the sellers responded with an apology, and a promise not to include the word bitcoin in his auction titles any longer.  So now I'm feeling like an eBay vigilante  Wink lol.

The most luck I've had was with the search string "bitcoin -not", to exclude some of the listings that say "not bitcoin".  Anyways, I felt this was worth bringing up in case some of these sellers are on the forum, may sell in the future, or in case I'm just crazy and this is 100% accepted practice.  I want somebody to set me straight if so! lol

Hello,
I am new to the bitcoins.  I have been reading quite a bit, and will contribute all I can to the idea.  I love it!

Thanks  Smiley
