1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Counterwallet down on: January 14, 2024, 04:30:53 PM
I see Counterwallet has 3 different servers https://wallet.counterwallet.io/, https://eds.counterwallet.io/, https://robotlovecoffee.counterwallet.io/ listed on their site, however none of them is working for me

No counterparty servers are currently available. Please try again later. ERROR: %s
Is it common nowadays or is it some exceptional situation? I have not logged in for at least a year there.
UPDATE: it seems it's a long lasting issue https://forums.counterparty.io/t/servers-down-for-extended-period/6781/2
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Crypto podcasts worth listening to on: April 29, 2019, 12:42:18 AM
Do you know of any good podcast comparable to Let's Talk Bitcoin, Epicenter Bitcoin or at least What Bitcoin Did? Seems it has to contain Bitcoin in its name  Grin
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Global Crypto Trends Webinar by CoinMarketCap on: February 14, 2019, 11:43:40 AM
I have missed the webinar with Henri Arslanian. Is it possible to find replay anywhere?
4  Economy / Services / VPS SSD for masternodes on: September 03, 2018, 04:37:45 PM
I'd like to be running like 4 or 5 MNs on a VPS. Which cheap VPS should I look at? I need something with enough SSD capacity, because around 10G might be used for swap.
So far I have found
  • OVH for 178 USD per year offering 2 x 2.4 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB SSD
  • host4fun for 170 USD per year offering 4 x shared CPU, 6 GB RAM, 75 GB SSD
  • vpscheap for 168 USD per year offering 4 x shared CPU, 4 GB RAM, 70 GB SSD
5  Economy / Trading Discussion / BTC/USD exchange with fast transfers from Bank of America for a non US resident on: November 01, 2017, 03:27:41 AM
I'd like to buy BTC from time to time using BoA account for ACH transfers. Which exchanges can process my transfer fast (ideally almost instantly like Kraken + Fidor in Germany) and don't require US residency nor SSN?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ICOs with a referral system = red flag? on: September 05, 2017, 12:41:34 AM
I don't have anything against referrals in principle, but from some ICOs I have seen, such are more likely to be a scam. It incentivizes reviewers to write positively about the project. Therefor I suggest to be very critical about such ICOs and do a check on the team as well as looking for some completed work. If a project with a referral system can offer just a site + WP, something likely isn't right.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Embermine discussion on: May 12, 2017, 12:36:54 AM
There is no announcement about Embermine on BTT. The project might be interesting, any thoughts?
8  Other / Off-topic / Pro scammers tactics on: February 04, 2017, 07:00:53 PM
One guy Krupa from Localbitcoins contacted me because of some biz idea. He was talking about starting a BTC sportsbook as well as about buying and selling BTC locally in India. I sent him some 1 BTC for a start and instead of paying it back, he asked for more. So I sent him some more, but because it wasn't enough for some "transaction", I tried to get some more using a loan https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1286917.msg13229250 and later got my partner to lend him. The result is some 8 BTC lost for just 2 people, Localbitcoins closed his account because of numerous complaints, but didn't reveal the amount others reported to be stiffed of. Anyway if someone with such a contact info wants to lend BTC, don't do that Smiley chunkgameworld@gmail.com, krupamarketworld@gmail.com, Skype:fungamingzone
EDIT: seems to me there are 2 typical behaviors of such scammers: they ask for more when you want to get the money back and they (video)call you
He also sent such IDs
9  Economy / Speculation / OKCoin vs BitMEX, long BTC futures with 10x leverage on: December 07, 2016, 01:12:46 PM
I'd like to make a small bet on BTC by placing a long contract with 10:1 leverage. OKCoin and BitMEX seem to be the best options, but which of them is better and why?
10  Economy / Securities / Bitstamp investment opportunity at bnktothefuture? Unimpressive... on: December 07, 2016, 03:25:00 AM
Bitstamp is now offering 2% share for some 1.1M EUR https://bnktothefuture.com/pitches/bitstamp
If you make a quick calculation 50*1191870[USD] and divide by daily trading volume of 5M*365 days*0.1% fee, (1191870*50)/(5000000*365/1000)=32.65, so it would take 32 years (or 16 assuming 0.2% avg fee) to pay back. Of course it's likely the volume will go up, however BTC price will do the same  Smiley Therefor I think it's way better to simply buy BTC.
11  Economy / Services / Looking or a proxy service offering a large number of proxies on: December 14, 2015, 08:29:18 PM
Can you recommend any HTTP/ SOCKS5 proxy service offering a large number of servers with a good response time? Speed is unimportant, daily traffic for each won't exceed 1 MB and they don't have to offer 99+% uptime or so.
12  Economy / Lending / Looking for a 0.8 BTC loan processed via localbitcoins on: December 12, 2015, 09:44:20 PM
A friend of mine needed a loan and I lent him something over 2.2, but I don't have more available. He needs further 0.8. He's willing to do the transaction via localbitcoins where he's a trusted member with 100% rating on 150+ volume.
The offer is 0.84 BTC paid until the end of this year for a loan of 0.8 BTC.
Details can be sent via PM.
13  Bitcoin / Legal / Bank transfers in the Eurozone and money laundering on: November 06, 2014, 02:03:50 AM
I buy BTC at Kraken exchange and then sell them to individuals using digital wallets. That means I receive money from the wallet providers and send them to the exchange. Is there any per transaction/monthly limit I shouldn't be exceeding to avoid AML issues? I'm specifically interested in bank accounts in Germany/Austria/Slovakia.
14  Economy / Goods / USD reloadable prepaid Visa on: December 09, 2013, 12:04:36 PM
Do you know any reloadable prepaid Visa card with the following features?
  • no fixed monthly fees
  • no loading fees for card to card transfers (incoming)
  • 500+ USD limit
  • is being shipped to at least one of: the US, Germany, Poland
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Buying Bitcoin with Skrill Moneybookers on: May 23, 2013, 09:50:32 PM
I'd like to buy just 2 coins with MB. Is there any place allowing that? Or do I have to use P2P method only?

BTW I made my first experience with BTC almost 2 years ago by purchasing over 500 at Bitcoin7. It was a great investment except for that I ended up with none  Grin
