I want to let BT know about the #lovebitcoin YouTube & Instagram contest. The contest is about driving awareness for Bitcoin by engaging those who love it. The community has shown time and time again that it is creative, passionate, and diverse. #lovebitcoin is about taking the mask off and telling the world your story.

Contest Overview

Timeline: The contest started July 8th and will run until August 14th
How to enter: Simply upload a video to YouTube or Instagram explaining why you #lovebitcoin. Be sure to include the hashtag #lovebitcoin in the title.

The Prize

The prize wallet (1P21pR9AYtBGFh4JwX2GdpUn7EzCvUtVUT) has been seeded with 1 BTC (by CAVIRTEX) to begin with but, in the spirit of bitcoin, it is open for community contribution. 100% of contributions by sponsors will go towards the prize pool. Winners will be selected by a panel of Judges and will be announced within 5 days of the contest closing. Thanks to http://bitprint.ca and http://Bitcoin-trader.biz for committing 2BTC each to the prize pool.

The prize pool will be broken down into the following categories.

1 – Ultimate Grand Supreme Bitcoin Lover 50%
1 – Grand Supreme Bitcoin Lover 25%
1 – Supreme Bitcoin Lover 10%
2 – Super Bitcoin Lover 5%

5% of the prize pool will go to a Bitcoin Charity.

I'm really hoping that this community can get on board with this contest.  Ultimately, CAVIRTEX is the organizing sponsor but there is no requirement to include our company or branding into the campaign.  This contest is all about making Bitcoin personal and showcasing the benefits.  We all want Bitcoin to succeed and CAVIRTEX is proud to be putting it on.  I would love the communities feedback on this and any questions, concerns and suggestions to make this thing a success.

VirtEx is seeking Developers to submit plugins to integrate the VirtEx merchant api with mainstream shopping carts. We are issuing a $500 reward per plugin via a bounty system which will function as follows:

If five developers submit a WordPress plugin, our development team will review the submissions and appoint a winner and then award one winner $500 CAD to their VirtEx account. The winner can then withdraw the CAD or convert to BTC and withdraw. The plugins we require integration for are listed on our GitHub page at https://github.com/cavirtex.

To participate follow these steps:

1) Create a VirtEx account and email reed@cavirtex.com with a request to make your account a merchant account for the purpose of development. Note that you must have a merchant account with VirtEx for the merchant API to work. If you require CAD or BTC for testing purposes, simply deposit small amounts of BTC to your VirtEx account either directly or through the merchant API and convert to CAD as necessary; you can then simply withdraw the BTC when complete. We do not provide any test BTC or CAD, this is your responsibility.

2) Create your own GitHub page and post the code on your own page. Be sure to include full documentation on how to install on your GitHub page.

3) Once development is complete and you are ready to make a submission for the bounty, please email virtexgithub@gmail.com with your GitHub page and the shopping cart you have implemented and wait for a response.

4) Our GitHub page contains the merchant API documentation as well as an up-to-date list of approved plugins; do NOT do development work on approved plugins. The $500 bounty rewards are only available for the Plugins Awaiting Submission list. If you want to develop for a shopping cart that is not on this list or for general inquiries, please email reed@cavirtex.com.
