1  Other / Meta / What a website. Is this a joke on: May 01, 2019, 11:01:26 AM
So there's time for big red signs being posted all over legit threads where devs have had their accounts hacked, but still no plans to even consider returning the hacked accounts.

It gets better and better.

The customer service in crypto is so good. Off the scale. No wonder the public is adopting it  Roll Eyes
2  Other / Meta / Why do instructions for recovering accounts exist? on: September 22, 2018, 06:28:20 AM
The following sticky exists:

Recovering hacked accounts or accounts with lost passwords
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

Why allow such a thread on the forum if it is blatantly not true? SPAM and SCAM topics are not allowed. Why is this topic allowed?

Mods - please remove this sticky thread please. It is pure lies and gives a false impression.

3  Other / Meta / FAO MODS: Why not charge a fee to recover hacked accounts? on: August 27, 2018, 10:45:05 PM
I've been trying since October, 2017 to recover my hacked account. BCT already has a post ban lifting fee. Why not charge a fee for recovering hacked accounts where account is verified?

There are so many people asking for their hacked accounts to be returned to them. At the moment they're just being completely ignored.

This might work for both parties.
4  Other / Meta / Why is it so easy to hack BitcoinTalk accounts?? on: January 31, 2018, 02:22:57 AM
Some of you may have seen my sorry thread about my hacked account. Since writing it, I've seen so many threads with hacked account owners begging for help just like me. Even one thread where an account has been hacked more than once. I know there was a breach a few years ago but there seems to be a recent surge.

My question: How come it seems so easy to hack BCT accounts?? What gives??
5  Other / Meta / My hacked account has more merit than me!! on: January 29, 2018, 07:17:07 PM
I just have to laugh when I see this. I'm not sure I can even rank up being a noob but my hacked account (unused since it was locked in Nov) already has 1000 merit.

6  Other / Meta / [HACKED] TheTribesman - Legendary account hacked on: January 24, 2018, 01:03:30 AM
My legendary account was hacked in October.
TheTribesman - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=168257

I have provided 'a level of proof' but the admins have not yet returned my account to me. Like most people, when I was a newbie I took the advice not to trust anyone and didn't post any BTC addresses. I guess that's my downfall.

I've read other hacked account threads where it's stated that if you have not posted a BTC address anywhere that there will be issues recovering your account and anyone asking for help is wasting their time. If I get my account back I will post a BTC address here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0

I suggest everyone else do the same just in case you too get hacked.

Here's my proof. Please tell me if it's good enough 'for consideration', or maybe it's not (and I'm fooling myself thinking it is)

1. I am the dev of kobocoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=920290.0
2. I have paid for the KOBO block explorer which is linked from CoinMarketCap - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/kobocoin/
3. This is the BTC payment address for the kobocoin explorer in use by CoinMarketCap - 1Hfgbi7TsgZvi9Jn86c8ZkE3MQ4fmdHWz1
4. The admins know of this address because it is used in my PM. I was asked to provide proof using that address.
5. This is the address on BTC explorer - https://blockchain.info/address/1Hfgbi7TsgZvi9Jn86c8ZkE3MQ4fmdHWz1
6. Look at 0.01 BTC payment on 2016-01-24 09:56:43
7. It came from address 1MUph4u92DJ2d1YfxPvyZKNAL6avaDnDju
8. The required signed message for that address was provided. It came from an address I own. It was the second payment for the explorer in use today.
9. Signed message below

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
My account TheTribesman has been hacked/lost. Please reset the email to xxxxxx@xxxxx.com. The current date is 16th October, 2017.

I'm at a bit of a loss because I haven't published a BTC address on BCT but I have proof that I sent payment for the KOBO block explorer
and the proof can be found in a PM from user GrinZ who built a block explorer for KOBO.

PM = https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;f=inbox;pmsg=XXX;quote;u=XXX

As you will see from the PM he sent me, Grinz account address for KOBO block explorer is 1Hfgbi7TsgZvi9Jn86c8ZkE3MQ4fmdHWz1

If you check address 1Hfgbi7TsgZvi9Jn86c8ZkE3MQ4fmdHWz1 in a BTC explorer
you will see that the payment of 0.01BTC sent 24th January, 2016
(after I heard back from GrinZ confirming the address to send the payment) is from address 1MUph4u92DJ2d1YfxPvyZKNAL6avaDnDju
which I used to sign the message above.

The previous payment of 0.01 BTC was sent from one of my exchange accounts and the TxID is
52e43bbb5e36cb269fe2d117dc709925100517c368c48f985cb876e61541f788.

This TxID is shown in the PM. Unfortunately because it was sent from an exchange account I can't sign with it
which would be more conclusive, but you will see that the second payment to address 1Hfgbi7TsgZvi9Jn86c8ZkE3MQ4fmdHWz1
for the block explorer was sent from my address (1MUph4u92DJ2d1YfxPvyZKNAL6avaDnDju) which is used to sign the message above.

I hope this is OK. I have never hidden my identity. The whole KOBO community knows who I am
(it is in the OP) and I can supply my passport image if necessary.

Regards
Felix Ugoji
TheTribesman
Dev - Kobocoin

But I'm being made to feel like a pariah by the BCT site admins because I need my account back. I'm sure many have been through it. Completely ignored.

I can now no longer update the OP of the coin I'm a dev for.

Hoping for a resolution.
