bitFlyer USA Official Signature Campaign



bitFlyer launched a Bitcoin exchange in the US around three months ago. Since then we've been steadily building volumes and on boarding a lot of new traders, however, we want to reach back to the OG community and let them know that there are more options than the exchange they're used to. To this end, we want to test out the effectiveness of a signature campaign.

We're going to offer the following rates for the first week:

Please reply below if you'd like to be considered for this signature campaign. We will select users and begin on Monday officially and have the first payout on the Monday after next.

If successful we might continue this campaign for additional weeks or open it up to more users. Please give us feedback if you want anything changed. Please do not change your signature until you receive confirmation from me over PM that your account has been selected.

Rules:

1: Minimum of 20 posts per week.

- Less emphasis on numbers. We're not going to shoot for the same exponential progression in merchant sign ups like we've done the last three years. We're aiming on getting quality merchants and discounts this year, and getting rid of all the clutter.

- Simplifying. Last year we tried to roll out extra things on top of what our core offering is. None of them were overly successful and it distracted from what the website is actually about, the deals. This also means we'll be making a simpler, cleaner website to list the deals

- More focus on advertising to the Bitcoin community. This year we're going to triple our efforts to get the word out about Bitcoin Black Friday to Bitcoin consumers. Hopefully the price bump will get people ready to spend some BTC and support our merchants.

- Select deals will be revealed to our newsletter before the day itself. These deals will help tease the event and get people excited for what's coming.

FAQ

Won't this hurt the price? Shouldn't everyone hold?

We don't advocate that Bitcoiners sell out of Bitcoin, only that they support the merchants they worked so hard to get on board and then replenish any bitcoins that they have spent. You can keep your hoard, just spend that fiat that you would during the holidays at merchants accepting Bitcoin.

How many merchants are going to participate this year?

We had 600 merchants participate last year. Thanks to all the growth in the Bitcoin merchant space due to BitPay, Coinbase, and others we're shooting for 6000 merchants to offer a deal this year. That's a small percentage of total businesses that accept Bitcoin, but a large percentage of how many actually interact with the community. We need your help with this, if you want to see your favorite small merchant participate this year, send them an email with a link to sign up on our site, it's free.

How do you screen deals?
I personally review all merchants on the site before we go live. If they're known scammers, their submission is deleted. It's still up to the consumer to double check on smaller stores with few reviews though. Buyer beware.

When will the deals be live?

We tend to tease a couple deals a week before the site goes up. Past that, we unleash all the deals the morning of the 28th.

We’re offering giveaways on those dates to any email subscribers to our mailing list. We will be announcing the giveaways and prizes the Thursday before the giveaway, letting people sign up before the drawing on Friday.

I wanted to see if you guys could come up with some creative ideas for a new section we're adding onto Bitcoin Friday this year.

We're working with the BitGive foundation to select some charitable causes to appear on the website, my question is how can we do some one day event to incentivize more people to give BTC to the charities we select?

Maybe we could work with merchants to send a gift package if you donate above certain amounts? Or something like that... Any ideas?

Bitcoin Black Friday officially launches on Nov. 29th.

Everyone had a great day... Let's do it again, but bigger!

This year we're aiming to get 500 (Yes, I said 500) merchants signed up and offering deals on their websites ONLY for Bitcoin users ONLY on November 29th.

For those of you who didn't participate last year, Bitcoin Friday is a one day sale two weeks before the great American pre-holiday sale: Black Friday. It is a chance to prove a couple things:

• Bitcoin is not only used for buying drugs. Huge this year with all the news coverage of the Silk Road closure.
• People will spend bitcoins, and not only hoard them.
• That the Bitcoin community treasures its Bitcoin merchants and appreciates their work and contribution to the Bitcoin economy.

Last year we had a couple spontaneous Bitcoin Friday parties erupt (looking at you Bitcoin Kiez and Room77 ). This year Bitcoin Friday will hopefully be sending packages of goodies (from BF participating merchants!) to groups that host Bitcoin Black Friday parties. Think Bitcoin Friday t-shirts, Alpaca socks, and other Bitcoin-related items. If you're interested in hosting a BBF party, let me know over PM. I'll be promoting this portion of Bitcoin Black Friday more in the next week.
