It seems as though bitcointalk is banned in wikipedia. Why is that? It can't be added as a reference or otherwise linked. Edits with that won't go through. Bitcointalk is a forum where significant announcements were made. Having it banned in wikipedia is quite unreasonable. I believe that we should do something to change that. Anyone here with knowledge over how Wikipedia works that could provide advice on if there's something to be done?  |

Binance listed the coin and now they're blamed for causing a high network load. All exchanges have closed Bytecoin deposits. The price went up more than 10x through the day but really, who's buying the coins? Most importantly, who's supplying the coinc to binance if deposits closed? The development team is alleged of doing this intentionally. Is Bytecoin a scam? How could it be that all exchanged started facing issues with deposits at the same time? Could there be insider activity involved? Edit: a new theory wants Bytecoin's developers involved with insider trading that might be connected to the 693 million bytecoins that were created through a bug. Most of those accounts seem to have responses to just that thread along with another one promoting a trading bot. This thread has been kept to the top position of the trading discussion board all day, but they way this was achieved doesn't appear to be organic. |

If you go to the altcoin announcement board you'll see many ICO announcements. The Tokens board is a child of the aforementioned board and its description reads: "Announcement threads for tokens, which are altcoin-like things built on top of other cryptocurrencies. I watched a video today: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=WWY7A221hwAChina is leapfrogging credit cards to jump directly into the adoption of mobile payments. An oligopoly is in place and as the adoption of the tech rises fast, it's not set to change. Now the Communist government is seeking to control such payments even more and the biggest payment companies are likely to cooperate. Perhaps one day people there would appreciate decentralization but for now the majority of the Chinese seem really careless about p2p tech and payments. |

I put my bets on the upcoming "MAVRO" ICO on being the most ridiculous one yet. It is (likely a scam and) supposedly curated by Sergei Mavrody, the mastermind that created the biggest ponzi scheme in Earth's history, MMM. Their goal is to support the creation of more ponzi schemes in their platform, as they claim that ponzi schemes are currently facing harsh regulation, being " over regulated"...  The effort put into this ICO makes it look very polished and nothing like a joke. I'm sure many people would fall for this but even if Sergei is indeed behind it it's very much likely that it'll end up scamming people once again, as he always does. Overall, this ICO is shameless about being a safe heaven for ponzi schemes, and likely to support such practices through its core services too. At least other scams about to collapse like bitconnect try to hide it. |

Has anyone in been observing this craze lately? Basically certain exchanges will have consistent price differences with other major ones. I'm not talking Bitfinex, which is probably done for, but pretty much all else known to be reliable exchanges.
I'm wondering, isn't there any pressure to close such gaps in the price? it's really a good chance for traders to profit with arbitrage but I really can't fathom how those gaps remain open for hours.
