2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Mazacoin Behind the scene truths no ones considering on: May 21, 2014, 07:21:23 PM

Recently the following post was made in regards to the upcoming fix for Mazacoin

"The Mazacoin people are like a kid that says he's going to clean his room.  He really wants to, sincerely starts but gets distracted by his Buzz Lightyear toy and you find him killing imaginary aliens in a pile of Legos 2 hours later.  I'll be believe them when they start using the word "done" and not "will be done", etc.  They had a chance a month or so ago to make a great coin and screwed it up royally just by kind of wandering away from the project.  This is worse than a scam, they just kind of stopped caring or got bored or something.  The same thing happened to Juggalocoin, another one that could have been up there on Coinmarketcap until the dev just faded out.  Again, no obvious scam, he just found something else to do instead of hanging around to get rich (or at least make enough cash to buy some nice toys)."

Here are some fundamental facts people are not taking into consideration....

Up until now most all of the DEV work, marketing work, PR, and everything else has been handled by myself and AP...I brought in a person to help with the BTC_Oyate twitter account and the Kimitsu asset management website this Volunteer Locked both the website and the twitter account  hence the reason the BTC_Oyate twitter has been silent. I just recently got the Kimitsu Asset Management site back under my control.

AP has locked out changes to the mazacoin.org site and the mazacoin twitter and the poster has a good point about AP wandering off to other projects...but also Mazacoin is open source so anyone is free to develop app's websites, block explorers, POS systems, ETC.  AP did his part in starting this but the community needs to come together and help with support development.

"Payu's been MIA"
No I haven't, Unlike many other coin dev teams, I spend most of my days out in the community talking with people, explaining how mazacoin works, helping people set up wallets, trading accounts, walking them through basic mzc transfers and trades...many of these people have ZERO experience with any crypto currency. Im also responsible for doing interviews, meeting with Tribal Leaders, Casino executives, Economic development directors, Chiefs, etc so about 14 hours a day is spent working on Mazacoin promotion and marketing in a hands on way  so in no way am I "Wandering off" on Mazacoin. Im the one that got MZC on Lora Hubbel's radar and got her interested in learning more about the positive elements of Cryptocurrencies. I recently Brought in James Roundstone  to help with PR and Consumer relations

Attacks on MZC
Mazacoin has suffered several attacks almost from day one...from a scam trading site liquidating client MZC holdings, to several internet trolls spreading rumors regarding Mazacoin being the legitimate currency of the Lakota nation. Then the mazacoin.org site suffered a social engineering hit which caused it to be suspended for a couple days.
People complained that we had no public statement from any tribal leader stating support for Mazacoin...but as soon as a video where Lakota leader Alex White Plume came out showing his support it was immediately attacked. The MZC water challenge video was Mocked after it came out.  what people dont understand is alot of the marketing and promotion we're doing is aimed at the Native american community...the water challenge was one of these...the concept started in our community as a way to show support for protecting water. But again the trolls struck, I do want to say I appreciate all the supporters that stay true to mzc and are right there with us.

Plans for the future....

We have several upcoming plans for mazacoin...including a food stall for pow wow season which will accept MZC, More on Crypto Talk radio program as well as On Blast and more programming, Upoming MazacoinTV video channel, Developing Kimitsu Asset Management into a primary trading house for Mazacoin and other crypto products. Several other tribes hae expressed a interest in Mazacoin and are looking forward to working with them to develop mazacoin into their existing tribal economic development strategy
these and several other ideas are currently on the table for Mazacoins future.

Stay Tuned....

4  Bitcoin / Legal / Tribal Sovereignty and Bitcoin regulation Solutions may be closer then we know on: December 10, 2013, 03:44:50 PM
Recently in the news there have been several countries, China, France, and India that have come forward with reservations regarding the acceptance and usage of Bitcoin as a recognized means of Trade and or a legitimate currency. With other news items reporting high level scams and cyber thefts in recent weeks raising consumer questions into the safety and security of Crypto Currencies, these countries and others around the world have ample reason to be concerned for the future and what regulations need to be in place to protect both consumer confidence as well as the liquidity of their fiat reserve currencies and their position in global exchange markets. But the question also comes as what should regulation look like? What role does the national government have in what their citizens use for trade in a free market economy? Enter the Bitcoin Oyate Initiative, all of the worlds global concerns are largely based on misinformed speculation, hearsay rumors, and a lack of genuine understanding of Bitcoins technical element and what it could mean for the growing e commerce market.

Tribal Sovereignty: The Lakota “White Knight”

Native American tribes hold a unique political relationship with the American Federal Govt. as they are De Facto Sovereign nations they have the unique distinction of the right to determine their own future through Political powers backed by longstanding treaties with the US Govt. One such treaty would be the historical FT Laramie Treaty of 1868, and specificly under Article XIV of said treaty

“It is agreed that the sum of five hundred dollars annually for three years from date shall be expended in presents to the ten persons of said tribe who in the judgment of the agent may grow the most valuable crops for the respective year “

now it is important to understand that at the time Agriculture was the primary commercial application the Federal Govt was wanting to direct the Tribes interests towards and since the treaty remains a legal and binding document we can assume it remains in effect to this day as a matter of US Law under the US Constitution and Adjusting for current standards for international norms it is safe to say that Bitcoin and Crypto Currencies are the “Most Valuable crops for the prospective year”

But what does this mean for the Bitcoin Industry as a whole? Simple, it means that Native American Reservations, Being in fact Sovereign nations under treaty, make a perfect incubator to introduce Bitcoin into, freely nurture it's usage, growth and development and see what the results will be. Shannon County is the 2nd poorest county in the US with a median Annual income of only $6,286 so if Bitcoin can really in fact make a positive impact on a economically devastated area this is it. This Initiative will allow all the hype and promises of Bitcoin and Crypto Currencies to be proven in a natural environment which will allow tribal officials to work out exactly what regulation needs to be in place to allow for proper consumer protections, strengthen current US and International AML statues, while still supporting a consumers right to choose their method of trade albeit Bitcoin, Debit/Credit Cards, Check or Fiat Cash, without incurring harsh fee's or sanctions biased against any specific trade medium.
Drafting regulation on Bitcoin without first openly embracing it is like trying to run a marathon blindfolded then being shocked when you run off course. Will there be challenges? Yes there will be, but thats why the BTC Oyate Initiative is designed to do, identify potential real world challenges, shortcomings, and flaws in a environment that fosters continued growth and development of the industry rather then prohibition. If the project is successful and proves out to be able to make a

significant positive impact for a economically shattered region like the reservation then it becomes a
model for other areas to use for their own development projects in the future to promote economic growth and stability.

As stated in earlier project descriptions the Bitcoin Oyate Initiative is looking forward to sharing our data points with world leaders and financial policy makers so they can look at the factual data and determine the best course of action for instituting Bitcoin regulation in their countries based on fact rather then hyperbole and conjecture.

Sincerely
Payu Harris

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Major Project set to test bitcoins true strengths on Sovereign Tribal Nation on: December 07, 2013, 12:46:24 AM

Bitcoin Development Project Concept:
The Concept for this project is to test Bitcoins true market viability by introducing it to a economically impoverished area, and education the local community in regards to 3 elements,
1.) BTC Mining including ASIC hardware and development, software and control scripts
2.) BTC Exchanges and trading, understanding how market volatility works and  how it can be good for the overall industry.
3.) Payment Processing and merchant acceptance
The Target location is the Pine Ridge Indian reservation in western South Dakota, this location  was selected for two main reasons, one is it's long standing history of economic hardship and poverty. Also it's unique political status as a Sovereign nation, this would insulate it from outside federal regulations and the issues surrounding that. This will allow the Oglala Lakota Tribal nation to freely explore a BTC based market and can determine what, if any, regulations should be imposed in order to maintain a free market and consumer security at the same time
Our immediate goals are 25-50 BTC in order to purchase basic Mining gear to get started with Phase one of the project
For those interested in Donating we've set up 2 main Donation Accounts
