1  Economy / Lending / Really need 1BTC, will pay 10% interest over 3 months on: March 01, 2014, 07:35:06 AM
I sold my car and put everything I had into Bitcoin. I had heard about Bitcoin a few times over the years but didn't seriously look into it until 2013 and started buying in late 2013.
Why did I buy Bitcoin? I believed Bitcoin has the potential to make the world a better place. Having experienced the slow decline of my family's business through agreements causing our customers to move overseas and then being hit by the 2008 financial crisis I no longer had any faith in our government or financial system. I wanted Bitcoin to succeed and so I did what I could to be involved and use it where I could.
That was all alright, I would be able to blame myself and feel horrible but not like I do now. The thing was that I convinced some of my family to invest as well. And I kept it all in my mtgox account. I know my parents have read about the news, and I have been avoiding them for the past few days. I just don't now what to do. I know that this could really break up myself from my family, I've seen stuff like it happen to others. I really have nothing right now to give them.

If I could have a loan for at least some of the money that was theirs, I think I could maintain their trust.

I know that what I did was stupid, and I really am worried about my future will be like without my family and without a way to support myself. What is the point of it?

3  Economy / Lending / Requesting any loan amount for 24hrs max with 10% interest on: June 07, 2013, 09:12:33 AM
Hello,
I would really like to build a reputation for trading on this forum, and while I don't need the money of this loan, I think that this is as good a way as any to build a trading reputation, and I do have an idea for a website/service (pm me for details if you want) which I would need a loan to take off the ground, but I know that there is no way anyone would lend me a substantial amount of money right off the bat . So whatever anyone is willing to lend me (I doubt that it will be very much), I'll return with 10% interest as soon as see that I have received it,

Yes, I did read that sticky thread at the top, and about the part that says
Quote
Never show you don't care about the loan you're requesting. "I just want this so I can build confidence, and it's only 2BTC" is a great way to show you don't really give a damn about the loan.

Well, I don't know how to respond as, honestly, I don't really care about the money of the loan, (or else it would be stupid to have a 24hr loan)

Thanks for reading and please ask me anything about this
4  Other / Beginners & Help / First to guess my number wins 0.005btc on: June 07, 2013, 12:58:41 AM
My number is a number between 1 and 50 that is either divisible by 3, or has a square root that is a whole number, but not both.
You can post your address after winning for speed
EDIT: I got 36 and 39 messed up. The new rule is a number that has a prime square root

6  Other / Beginners & Help / [CLOSED] 150%+ Payout Raffle, Rep building thread on: June 03, 2013, 02:06:23 AM
If I do not post the winner within 5 minutes of the first BTC block's discovery after 5:00pm PST (12:00 UTC) on Thursday, June 6th, I ask that all entrants leave me negative feedback

Okay, so this will have been the third time that am running this...the first time, I was called a scammer before anyone bet and the second time I was complete idiot and I held the drawing a day late, but that is all sorted now. Maybe this time I can prove that I am able to organize something like this properly.

I would like to gain trust before trading with other users for obvious reasons, so I am holding a Bitcoin raffle where I will pay out 50% more than the total amount from bidders, plus a 0.05 btc starting prize. I simply ask that the winner leave a good review on the trust thing below my username.
For example, if 10 people buy a raffle ticket (0.005 btc), I will send 0.075 to the winner. I am, however, going to limit my contribution to 0.2 btc plus the 0.05 to start. If I sell less than 5 tickets, I will send every entrant twice what they sent.

To enter, send at 0.005 btc to 124YPLs72BiMgHkBqkL3G3Ag3TCWvWmgss (an easywallet for this raffle) and post your address so that I can prove that the winnings went out to an actual person in the thread. If you send more, you will be buying multiple raffle tickets.

EDIT: The winner will be determined using a provably fair method outlined below in the thread

EDIT: You can now view current entries and odds at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmRvfLTge4DMdFFSVXVrR2R1RnNaWEJ4U05sS2FhVlE#gid=0
I will try to update this thread with the current prize amount and the number of tickets sold and to answer any questions.
Thanks

Hello,
Since my free raffle (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=219632.0) has started to gain some traction, I have decided to redo my 150% payout raffle, hopefully some people will actually enter this time.

To enter, send at least 0.005 btc to 124YPLs72BiMgHkBqkL3G3Ag3TCWvWmgss (an easywallet just for this raffle) and post your address so that I can prove that the winnings went out to an actual person in the thread and I know who to congratulate. If you send more, you will be buying multiple raffle tickets.

The drawing will be held at 5pm EST (9:00 UTC) on Saturday, June 1st. I will assign each ticket a number and then use a random number generator to find out who is the winner

I will try to update this thread with the current prize amount and the number of tickets sold and to answer any questions.
Thanks
8  Other / Beginners & Help / [CLOSED] FREE to enter 0.2 BTC Raffle on: May 30, 2013, 01:24:02 AM
My last post (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=218165.msg2292896#msg2292896) to build trust seems to have sort of back-fired, with being called a scammer without evidence, so this time I'm having a free raffle instead of my last one which had 0.0005BTC tickets and above-100% payout.

To enter, just post your address below and I will use a random number generator to find out who is the winner. I'll announce the winner at 5pm EST on Saturday, June 1st.

If aren't too cynical and you want to donate to increase the pot, you can use the address 13UPQMouHPJbpAc7GURjfzyaChJj5ZeSP1 (I'll try to match all reasonably-sized donations, not that I think I'll get any)

EDIT: I think I'll change it a bit, if you don't want to post your address, just reply and say you want to enter, then I'll announce the winner and get the address from him/her afterwards

EDIT 2: I've reopened my paid raffle at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=219729

EDIT 3: The raffle it closed (a bit late). Congrats to enacio, please post your address
Thanks

I'm new here (though I've read posts alot) and I would like to gain trust before trading with other users for obvious reasons, so I am holding a bitcoin raffle where I will pay out 50% more than the total amount from bidders, plus a 0.05 btc starting prize.

The drawing will be held at 5pm EST (9:00 UTC) on Wednesday, May 29th. I will assign each ticket a number and then use a random number generator to find out who is the winner

I will try to update this thread with the current prize amount and the number of tickets sold and to answer any questions.
