1  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / I thought Trezor's were suppose to be secure? on: March 25, 2019, 04:32:42 PM
I haven't been keeping up on Cryptocurrency in a while. I went to go log into my Trezor and found out I needed to do an update. When I was able to login all my Cryptocurrency was gone. I restored from my recovery seed and same issue.

I noticed now when I recover using my Trezor recovery seed that the Trezor stays with the default settings, my logo is gone, the security is gone, transactions are missing...etc.

Has anyone else run into this issue and if so were you able to recover from it?

2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Canadian Banks Freeze/Close clients accounts who deposit money from Bitcoin on: December 14, 2017, 11:48:53 AM
Hi Everyone,

I have been reading and still hearing horror stories of Canadian banks freezing and closing peoples accounts who deposit money that has come from Cryptocurrency.

I was wondering has anyone found a bank that is Cryptocurrency friendly and will not freeze your account if you deposit money that came from Cryptocurrency?

Here is an article I found from years ago but I think is still happening.

https://globalnews.ca/news/996853/as-bitcoin-surges-canadian-banks-make-converting-to-cash-difficult/

I'm concerned because I don't want to start exchanging my Cryptocurrency and all of the sudden the bank freezes all my accounts.

I would love to hear if you guys have figured out a way to exchange your Cryptocurrency and deposit into a Canadian bank and keep doing it on a on going bases with no penalties or issues.

Thx,
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Need to Retrieve My Bitcoin that were purchased in 2009 on: December 13, 2017, 06:48:02 PM
Hi everyone,

I have a weird situation. A friend of mine who just told me they purchased Bitcoin when it first came out. They went to a website that had Satoshi's manifest and purchased some Bitcoin from the site. There were given a private key which they appear to have.

1) They do not have the website they purchased the Bitcoins from
2) They do not have the original computer they purchased the Bitcoins with.
3) They do not have the card the originally purchased the Bitcoins on.

I know this is a shot in the dark, but is there a way with just the private key to be able to recover their Bitcoins?

I would need exactly what is need please, if this is possible.

Thank you,

4  Economy / Exchanges / How to use Coinsquare.io on: December 04, 2017, 09:43:41 PM
Hi Everyone,

I am trying to figure out how to use Coinsquare.io before I start funding the account and would like to ask you guys who use it if what I think is the process is correct. As well is there anything that I am missing.

1) You fund the account through the methods they provide, of course depending on the method there are different fees.
2) Here is what is confusing me----- Instead of buying in their system you trade to get the Cryptocurrency you would like to have. Is that correct?
3) They provide you a quote and you make the trade. This trade goes through a holding period and then the funds are available.
4) As soon as the funds are available you can withdraw the Cryptocurrency using the methods they provide.

Is this correct? Is there any issues like certain Cryptocurrencies you can't withdraw...etc. I have just heard/read horror stories of people getting stuck with Exchanges and having issues. That is why I want to make sure I understand Coinsquare.io before I fund it.

Thank you in advance.

5  Economy / Exchanges / Coinsquare Question on: December 02, 2017, 12:02:20 AM
I am trying to work with Coinsquare and I have a question about this statement they have on their Fund your account by
Interac Online page:

"Once processed and credited, your funds will be immediately available for trading BUT the total funded amount will be held as collateral and will not be available for withdrawal until the expiry of each unique withholding period (whether this collateral is actual CAD or coins purchased with this funded CAD)."

My question is for those of you who use Coinsquare

1) What is the "Unique withholding period"
2) Has anyone experienced how long this period actually is?

I ask because I would like to be more fluent with buying and selling and not be held up for 10+ days.

Now if you are thinking of recommending QuadrigaCX, please don't, they have banned me from their system for asking on Twitter "is anyone else having issues verifying their account with QuadrigaCX". They considered that abusive.

Thank you,
6  Economy / Service Discussion / QuadrigaCX What Do you think? on: November 30, 2017, 10:56:25 PM
I have been having nothing but issues with QuadrigaCX and I was wondering what is your experience.

1) They started the verification process with Equifax without my permission. Which I had a fraud alert on my Equifax account that anyone trying to confirm my credit is suppose to call me. I told QuadrigaCX that is all they have to do. Then they tell me I have to do a USD wired transfer to Poland, which concerned me.

This was over 4 weeks and I had to open countless support tickets because QuadrigaCX support kept closing the support tickets I had open. Instead of keeping one open until the was resolve. They kept closing it so I had to open a new ticket each time.

2) I posted on Twitter asking if anyone else was having any issues verifying their account. I found out the next day QuadrigaCX blocked me on Twitter. So I logged more support tickets trying to find out why the blocked me. Found out today after numerous tickets again.

"Hi Info,

You have been blocked for ongoing abuse.  This decision is final.

- QCX Support Centre"

I read other people having challenges with QuadrigaCX.

I would love to hear what you guys think?

7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Big 5 Canadian Banks Will Not Accept Cryptocurrency on: November 28, 2017, 10:13:42 PM
Hey everyone,

I was speaking to a branch manager today from one of the top 5 Canadian banks. They were saying that there is now a directive going across all the banks that if anyone deposits money that comes from Cryptocurrency that their accounts will be frozen.

I wanted to ask you guys, especially the ones who have been into Cryptocurrency for years. Have you guys heard this issue before?

I look forward to your response.

Thank you,

8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Canadian Bitcoin Exchange - To Purchase Bitcoins on: October 29, 2017, 06:51:50 AM
Hi Everyone,

I am looking to purchase bitcoins from a Canadian Bitcoin exchange (I think I am using the term correctly). What I am finding is that when I search on Google as of today the cost of a Bitcoin is $7,419.73 on Google. But when I go to different exchanges the prices is different.

https://www.canadianbitcoins.com  cost to purchase is $8,009.23
https://digatrade.com/                   cost to purchase is $7,451.33

...etc

Why are the exchanges so different?

What is the best way to purchase Canadian Bitcoins at the current market value and not have to pay inflated prices from some of these exchanges? I know I will have to purchase from a Canadian Bitcoin exchange I just don't think it's fair to pay close to $600 for the CanadianBitcoins to purchase bitcoins for example.

Thank you in advance.
