1  Economy / Economics / 2013 Taxes on: January 31, 2014, 09:07:33 PM
I figure some small and large businesses may be filing net gain or loss. But I was wondering what individuals may choose to do this tax season.
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Who was first with 28nm? on: December 03, 2013, 08:52:50 PM
I have been looking around at various mining hardware sites and noticed many of them claim to be the first companies to offer 28nm ASIC's.

Maybe a silly question but which company or group was the first to have the 28nm ASIC?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin Miners on: June 13, 2013, 04:41:03 PM
Hey I was wondering if there are any Litecoin mining pools with a mining GUI like Bitminter has, any others with a java applet or similar?

EDIT 7/2/2013:  I did eventually find a Java based Litecoin miner similar to Bitminter at https://www.litecoinpool.org/
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / cudaminer or pool problems? on: June 11, 2013, 02:20:14 AM
I had been using cudaminer for awhile now with no problems but recently it started showing me errors. I'm not sure if its a problem with my internet connection or the pool or even if it's the miner program.

I'm using Win7 and the Cudaminer 4.30.2013 package, connecting to the Suprnova.cc pool for litecoins.

Not sure what happened but just yesterday I started getting this message "http request failed: SSl certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate" and got something about "rpc_json."

I'm still a newbie with the jargon so i don't understand what this means, any help would be much appreciated.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / problem with miner programs on: June 03, 2013, 07:47:19 PM
This is giving me a headache, I have been using Bitminter fine for awhile now but would like to mine Litecoins.
This is the pool I am trying to use http://de2.suprnova.cc:8336

I've tried using CGminer 3.1.1 but when i input the pool url and my user/pass it says it cannot connect and it crashes.  I have tried using the same settings with BFGminer 2.10.8 and it is able to connect to the pool but it says it's using my GPU but won't show the name and it only goes at 7.5kh/s.  This makes me think its using my CPU and not the GPU which I get 10.6mh/s from with Bitminter.

I also tried making a .bat file for mining litecoins that i found here http://www.cryptobadger.com/2013/04/build-a-litecoin-mining-rig-windows/
The guide says to use CGminer but I was wondering if the BFGminer would accept the file or not?

Another thread I looked at mentions a .bin file with a long name that caused the crashes but I have no such file in my CGminer directory.

6-3-13 11:21PM  EDIT:   I have tried going into BIOS and disabling the on-board GPU but BFGminer continues to use it and ignores my GT520. The CGminer is now simply crashing after I input my initial pool/user info. I have tried running CGminer from the cmd prompt to see what the error is, but the window just disappears and I get no error message.

Are BFGminer and CGminer compatible with nVidia cards, I can't afford a new card atm?
6  Other / Beginners & Help / difficulty with Mining programs on: May 31, 2013, 01:26:38 PM
Hello, I am getting started with mining and have been seeing an error message in CGminer and Guiminer.

"Stratum connection to pool 0 interrupted"
"Stratum from pool 0 requested work restart"
"Stratum connection to pool 0 interrupted"

...and it just repeats it endlessly. I Googled the message and some posts said that I needed the CGWatcher program to fix the problem. I have tried installing the CGWatcher interface but am still seeing the message. I am thinking maybe I made a mistake in my setup?

I am using an nVidia GT520 video card averaging 8.49Mh/s, and I have version 3.1.0 of CGMiner.

EDIT:  I gave up on the clients and switched to using Bitminter. It's all working fine with the Java applet.
