Other / Politics & Society / At Least 31 Killed In Istanbul Airport Attack

Suicide bombers open fire before blowing themselves up at Turkey's biggest airport.Source Three suicide bombers opened fire before blowing themselves up at the international terminal of Ataturk Airport, Istanbul governor Vasip Sahin told NTV television.
Several witnesses reported two explosions but Mr Sahin said authorities believed there were three bombers.
He said some 60 people were wounded. Six of those sustained serious injuries, the state-run Anadolu Agency said.
Two of the attackers detonated their explosives when police fired at them, a second official said, citing information from the interior ministry.
No mention of ISIS yet, but I wouldn't jump out of my chair if they claim they were behind this. What is the world coming to? We are living with cancer, there's just no way to stop this now that even war tactics is becoming decentralized. As we are witnessing fourth generation warfare becoming more relevant, we have not seen any state or country becoming successful on how to counter it. Other / Politics & Society / Robots as 'Electronic Persons' Under EU's Draft Plan

Europe's robots to become 'electronic persons' under draft planSourceEurope's growing army of robot workers could be classed as "electronic persons" and their owners liable to paying social security for them if the European Union adopts a draft plan to address the realities of a new industrial revolution.
Robots are being deployed in ever-greater numbers in factories and also taking on tasks such as personal care or surgery, raising fears over unemployment, wealth inequality and alienation. I think the impact of this in our society is huge. I would expect the working class who will be left out to march the streets and start breaking and destroying these robots to express their discontent. Are we actually becoming (or living in) a dystopian society?

Economy / Gambling / Online Poker Challenge: Getting Out of the Micros
|
on: June 13, 2016, 05:33:33 AM
|
Hello!
I want to start a self-challenge playing online poker to give me more motivation to play more hands and climb the stakes. This challenge will start on June 13, 2016 and will end when I have reached 50nl with 30 buy ins (1500 USD).
Mission: To climb the stakes from the micros (2nl) to low stakes online (50nl).
Games: The games I'm planning to play are NLHE and PLO. I'm more adept at NLHE, but my PLO game is fundamentally ok.
Bankroll Management Plan: I'm going to play a certain stake if I have at least 30 buyins for it. I know due to the difficulty of the games today that I might need more. But for this challenge I need only 30 so that I could move up as fast as possible.
My Poker Background: I started playing seriously back in April, 2006 starting with a 100 USD bankroll. I climbed the stakes and ran that up to over 50,000 USD just over a year later. I started playing 5nl then I became a 200nl and 400nl reg around July, 2007. I would like to note that the games were really soft back then. Playing robotic, ABC poker was like printing money. Ah... I miss those days...
I quit playing poker seriously on 2010 due to the difficult games and I wasn't winning anymore. I also started throwing things when I lost. So yeah... I still play from time to time though. But for fun.
Current Poker Climate: Not good. In fact, it's the worst it has ever been. People are better at playing poker all the way down to the micros due to all the poker strategy info available online. There are still some newbies at the micros though. So that's good.
Starting Bankroll: 130 USD.
Others: I will be playing an average of 25,000 hands a month, playing 6 tables for around 2 - 3 hours a day. I will update my bankroll amount every week, but I will be posting here from time to time to share my thoughts and discuss some of the hands I played.
That said, if we finish the challenge then we might go on and keep climbing the stakes until we reach midstakes.
Wish me luck!

Economy / Service Discussion / Recommend me a signature campaign [AKA How to get in a sig campaign]
|
on: June 04, 2016, 12:48:31 PM
|
I've been applying to signature campaigns but no one would accept me. I don't care how much they pay out, I just want to join one. I am on here all the time anyway... I would also improve my posts back to when I was helping newbies getting into BTC.
Please recommend me a good campaign that really pays. The amount doesn't matter.
Thanks.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Dear Poloniex...
|
on: April 06, 2016, 03:25:26 AM

Dear Poloniex,
You are becoming the goto exchange for altcoins and have been increasing in trading volume day by day. I have but one request... Learn from the hard lessons and mistakes done by MtGox and Cryptsy. Please minimize your greed and maximize offering the best service you can for your customers. I, personally, would really hate to see your exchange take the route of MtGox and Cryptsy.
Ty and gl.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Lisk could be a big disappointment...
|
on: March 24, 2016, 02:05:03 AM
|
A lot of people jumped in on Lisk because they missed out on Ethereum's crowdfunding. I don't think Lisk will rise like Ethereum did... Unless they get a banking consortium to use their network.
Just wondering what you guys think about the project... I think it's better technically in some aspects but I can see it being a disappointment marketcap-wise.
