1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Multi GPU Mining on: November 15, 2018, 07:59:15 AM
Hi,
I'm new to mining and still learning. I'll add more questions here once I start building. But for now, I have these:

Q1. a) Am I only allowed to mine one coin per GPU or can I use multiple GPUs to mine one coin?
      b) Can I mine multiple coins per rig (e.g. 4 coins on a 4 GPU rig) at the same time?

Q2. How does RAM come into play for mining e.g. a GTX 1060 3GB vs GTX 1060 6GB?

Q3. In terms of power usage, If I build a 4 GPU GTX 1080 rig - each gpu's maximum theoretical wattage is 180 W. Of course it's going to be lower but how much power do you expect it to use if I bios mod it? With other components using power as well, would a 1000 W PSU be enough?

Q4. I live in an apartment and pay fixed electricity bills. What tips do you have to maximize mining potential considering electricity is fixed?

Thank you so much.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What does it mean when a coin's circulating supply is close to its max supply? on: November 26, 2017, 08:23:07 AM
What's the logical thing that would happen? This doesn't necessarily mean the circulating supply = max supply, but what would happen if the circulating supply is very close to the max supply? Thanks.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Decentralized blockchain based Skype-like calling app Experty on: November 02, 2017, 12:59:30 PM
Hey guys, I just watched a video on one of the ICOs: Experty. It’s basically a blockchain based app which serves the consultations market. For example, if you need consultation from a “knowledge expert” overseas, you would traditionally use calling apps such as Skype. But this would prove inefficient because the knowledge expert would be uncertain if he/she would receive the money on time and he/she may also need to wait a few for payment. Similarly, the client (person seeking the knowledge online) would be inconvenienced due to the call times being unpredictable, so they would not know how much to pay exactly beforehand.

Experty would allow instant payments which are based on the length of the call. Of course, the knowledge experts would set their rate and the process goes on from there. I think because it’s decentralized, it would help users on both ends instead of waiting for long payment transactions.

I still have to read more about their technology but it looks promising nonetheless. Their slogan is "Democratizing the consultations market" which I think is a unique initiative.
