1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Questions about mining software, pools and gas fees! on: April 07, 2021, 01:16:38 AM
Hi there!

I was mining back in 2017-2018, had a couple nvidia 1070 GPUs and I did fine and cover a decent bunch of the investment, but had to stop in summer 2018 due to lack of space and profitability. Been very active in crypto since then though, and been holding some btc and eth for a long time.

Anyway, I did sell some GPUs at a loss, but not all of them (due to laziness mostly), and I still have 5 of them: 2 1070, 2 1070 ti, and 1 1060. I have my own place now, and an empty room, so I have decided to go back to mining and have made a rig with some recycled stuff (still kept MOBO, 1000W gold EVGA and SSD, plus some RAM I wasn't currently giving use), and also had to buy a used G4400 (52e) as I had already sold mine (for half of what I have spent now), and also 3 risers (29e) because I lost all I had but 2 of them.

So rig is working fine, all good, just some modest 5x old nvidias rig, and it's mostly for the thrill of mining, I loved it back in the day, and I have a couple questions:

1-I was mining using Awesome miner in some Mining Pool Hub pools, and I think it was an okay software, not specially complicated, though it had errors on a regular basis. Which is currently the best mining software for my nvidia cards? I'm not looking for maximizing my mining up to the last bit,  and I don't want to run into a lot of trouble with the mining software like back in 17-18. So something not too difficult to set up and that runs smoothly would be great even if it doesn't deliver the best hashrate.

2-Which is the best pool to mine with? I think ETH is the best coin overall to mine these days, and I wouldn't mind holding it for the next months (also I wouldn't mind only mining it), but I have my fair share of use of DeFi and know how insane gas fees are, so if I'm gonna make something like 300$ a month and gotta pay 100$ in fees to cashout them, well, this sucks. So I was wondering if that's a problem in some of the pools, and which are the best pools in order to get free withdrawals to an exchange.

These are the two questions I can come up for now.

If you have read this far, appreciate a lot!
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Motherboard won't boot! H110 pro btc+ on: March 30, 2021, 09:29:46 PM
So I connect to PSU:
MOBO 24 pin
SSD
GPU via PCIe

I connecto to MOBO:
CPU G5420 with fan
PCIe 16x on slot 2
SSD
RAM

And also the jumper on position 1 & 2.

I turn on the PSU and inmediately, CPU fan and GPU fans start to roll.

Now the problem comes with my next action:
I connect CPU power 12V and/or
I connect the 4x pin recommended for more than 3 GPUs

Nothing happens. I hear no sound, no light on the MOBO (I have it from 2018 and not sure if it did light some led, I don't see any). Nothing at all. I press power button and doesn't respond at all. Nothing.

This is an old MOBO, I mined with it on 2018 and it was working correctly. It hasn't been touched since then. CPU is new.

What is it?? I really have no idea
3  Economy / Scam Accusations / Equicex is a SCAM on: May 04, 2019, 09:42:33 PM
I was told to create a thread here. I don't think there is much to add. Just check these threads:

And many more, I don't think there's much else to add.

Don't deposit your money there. Don't listen to shaddy forum members claiming it's legit. Don't give them your money. It's a scam.
4  Economy / Service Discussion / Does anybody know Equicex Black Card? Possible scam? on: March 28, 2019, 05:17:15 PM
Hello!

A friend of mine has ordered this card where you can sell your BTC and withdraw from an ATM anonymously. It hasn't still arrived. I was thinking of ordering one, but I have found almost no information! Their youtube channel is full of videos that nobody watches, what they do is possibly illegal in Europe, and other cards I think in the past were sort of shaddy.

So I was wondering if that could be a scam! Maybe some people here know about it, cause in case that it was legit I would be interested Cheesy
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Unconfirmed transaction for a month!! on: January 03, 2018, 11:26:42 PM
6860c1ba867067637948e6dc2c66b074c6d467035765fc30b1f185d0c61d5bd4

I sent my transaction with a little low fees (there was no rush, so I expected it to arrive between a few hours and a couple days), but it was on 6th December, right before the huge spike of unconfirmed transactions that came in December and that still remains.

At this point I actually want the transaction to disappear from my Ledger. Problem is I have Ledger Nano S, so it's a wallet that doesn't allow the option to double-spend my coins using a higher fee. I don't know any other way to cancel, I read that after about 2-3 weeks it disappears on its own, but it doesn't seem to be the case.

Is there any way I can make it disappear on my own?

Thank you, really appreciate
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / What can I save from my old PC to build a GTX 1070 mining rig? on: November 08, 2017, 12:33:02 AM
Hey there!

I'm preparing my 1st mining rig and I have already decided I'm going to be using the amazing and versatile GTX 1070.

It would be great if I could save money buck by using some parts of my old computer. Here are the specs:

CPU:  Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4Ghz Box Socket 1155

MOBO: Asus P8P67

SSD: SanDisk Extreme 240Gb

RAM: Kingston DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 16GB (2x8)

PSU: Corsair HX650 650W Modular

GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1GB Twin Frozr II OC

COOLERS: Noctua NH-U9B SE2
Lian Li LanCool PC-K60

I guess MOBO maybe not able to support 6 GPUs, maybe 4? It's my first rig so not terribly necessary to go to 6+, but wouldn't mind changing it any way.

Also, I would say the SSD is in pretty lame condition after 5 years of intensive use, not sure how important its condition is.

Thank you very much in advance guys!
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Do card holders like Visa provide information to Central Banks? on: November 02, 2017, 06:30:39 PM
Hey there! New here.

I've been using the Bitwala debit card for a while to withdraw money. I think Bitwala is amazing and actually I'm thinking about investing in their next ICO! the service is perfect and the fees are the lowest in the market.

Anywa, the thing is I'm a little bit worried that they (or Wave Crest Holdings, or VISA) would give my information to ECB or to the Central Bank of the country I live (Europe). I would like to keep withdrawing BTC in the Bitwala card without having to worry about the tax agencies or the government messing around. Do you think they have a way of finding out? I'm a little lost here.

Thank you!
