Short story: A Journey of Newbie Become a High Rank Member Since Merit System
Motivation for newbie
I see a lot of newbies afraid they are can't be ranked up in this forum. The first factor is "merit" system. Many newbies starting to post with questions about "how to earn merit?". Is wrong to ask about that? No, it's not wrong. Newbie register on this forum just seeing about merit on their profile and start to ask about that, before reading FAQ: Everything you need to know about forum 'activity, account ranks and merit. Why it happens? Because (IMO) many of them don't look at Meta board first, and prefer to get instant answers and decide to create new topics on Beginner and Helps board.
Do I Need To Become an Expert, to Be a Legendary and Got Merit In This Forum?This question comes from my mind on beginning 2018 when the merit system started by Theymos. I think, I will not become a "Full Member" and will stick on "Member" status during that year and thinking if my merits was receive it's just a lucky gift. I never think about becoming "Hero Member", what I think always about impossible, impossible and impossible to become higher level in this forum. Why I think impossible? - I am not an expert about Bitcoin and altcoins
- I am not an expert in trading
- I am can't write good English (until today still like this, but it's better than 2017 when I joined this forum, I think )
- I am not a programmer
- etc... with hundread reasons.
There are many reasons, why I think wouldn't become a Hero member like today. Hero Member position just a dream for me in the past. But, everything is change on this year. I can be a Hero member from nothing. Lots of my post deleted by moderator and mostly from the local board. Moderator deleted my post because OOT or even tagged as spammers. When I think already create a good post, it still deleted with some reason. From that story, I try to make a good post with my limited knowledge about Bitcoin, security, privacy, trading strategy. I make few threads, few posts with my knowledge and share it in local board, I am happy many members help me to learn something new about crypto, trading strategy and anything related to this forum and crypto world. With this limited knowledge, I share it and some of members happy with my post, as a gift from my contribution, they give me some merit. In conclusions, Do I need to be an expert, to be a legendary member and got merit in this forum?The answer is. No, you don't need to be an expert to be a higher rank in this forum. What you need just starts with these little things- Try to share a little knowledge to others, and make them know about something new in crypto or this forum.
- Share some idea to members, even you are don't know about it or you create from searching over internet.
- Don't afraid about mistakes or misunderstanding about your post/thread, another member will give a feedback and give a correction to your post/thread. This mistake will bring you to new levels of your knowledge in the future and you can share it to another member below your levels.
- You are here not to teach someone who already become an expert, but you can teach someone who doesn't know about something that you know.
- You don't need to create something "hard" to understand for newbies to get merit, you can start with simple thing you know.
- Expert starting same like you without any knowledge, but make this forum as a "virtual schools" will bring you become an expert. You want to learn about Bitcoin, you can find in [ DO NOT POST SESC LINKS #1]Bitcoin board[/url] section, you want to learn about trading, you can search trading discussion section. This forum was doesn't have a limit to someone who want to learn about crypto related especially about Bitcoin. Even you are a newbie, it doesn't mean you are nothing. All members will be happy if more newbie on crypto coming to this forum. Because, this forum is the right place for them. If newbies want to ask something about crypto or learn a lot of things in crypto world. Thousand members will help, supporting and teaching them careful and stay safe from scammers. A Lot of education can be found here and it will help you to be an expert in the future.
One more thing I can say to all newbies on this forum to start your journey from zero to hero.
Knowledge from one person is limited. But in the community, knowledge becomes unlimited. Share it, ask if you need and grow together.

BIP-39 basics. From randomness to mnemonic words.
Terjemahan yang saya buat lebih saya sederhanakan untuk kemudahan pembaca dalam mempelajari. Saya juga masih dalam proses pengenalan mnemonic dan BIP-39 ini untuk pembelajaran yang lebih baik. Apabila ada keterangan yang salah, silakan dikoreksi.
Di awal kehadiran Bitcoin, kita tidak mengenal mnemonic atau cara mudah lainnya untuk membuat backup key wallet. Setiap dompet akan membuat address dan private key yang disimpan pada file wallet dan harus melakukan backup wallet secara berkala. Hal ini pun dianggap tidak ideal atau kurang efektif bagi sebagian pengguna. Karena, mereka dapat dengan mudah lupa untuk membuat backup wallet tersebut, sehingga membuat wallet dan bitcoin yang ada di dalamnya hilang selamanya. Seiring dengan pengembangan wallet bitcoin, pengembang menemukan cara yang dianggap lebih baik untuk membuat cadangan private key. Salah satu ide tersebut diajukan oleh Pieter Wuille pada tahun 2012 dengan menggunakan BIP-32 yang kemudian diadopsi secara luas dan disebut dengan “Hierarchical Deterministic Wallets”. Dari pengembangan ini, dari yang awalnya harus melakukan backup secara rutin, kini hanya perlu memiliki seed sebagai backup. Ingin memiliki backup seed yang lebih sederhana, Marek Palatinus, Pavol Rusnakm Aaron Voisine dan Sean Bowe membuat seed dalam BIP-39 dari daftar byte acak menjadi sebuah kata yang dapat dengan mudah di ucapkan maupun dituliskan. Pada pembahasan yang ada dalam artikel, Coldbit memberikan langkah-langkah mengubah daftar byte secara acak (entropy) menjadi urutan kata dalam mnemonic yang disesuaikan dengan spesifikasi BIP-391. ENTROPYPertama, kita membutuhkan sesuatu yang dapat membuat hal yang dapat dilakukan secara acak. Dalam hal ini, kita mengambil contoh alat berupa coin yang mana pada sisi 1 adalah ekor dan sisi lainnya adalah kepala. Kemudian, spesifikasi BIP-32 memiliki panjang entropy antara 128 dan 256 bits. Setiap kali kita melemparkan koin akan dihitung sebagai 1 bit entropy. Jika kita ingin memndapatkan 24 kata pada seed, maka kita harus melemparkan koin sebanyak 256 kali dan menuliskan hasilnya dengan angka. Dalam hal ini, jika hasilnya adalah kepala, maka akan diganti dengan angka "0" sedangkan apabila hasilnya ekor, maka kita tuliskan sebagai "1". The Conclution is, Stop reading the title first, but focus on their domain. Stop using search engines to open daily sitesMany people using search engines to open website because they don't want to write manually. Someone prefers to use search engine and typing "bitcointalk" than writing "bitcointalk.org" completely on address bar. If you want to safe from fake website, don't use a search engine to visit website you already know about it. Type domain of website manually. You just need to remember a few words on domain to stay safe. Make a small research, if you are really new with that websiteIf you never know about websites before, do, for example, you don't know about electrum, if you are using electrum as keywords, of course you will find some result, and very possible your first results is "fake" electrum. So, before you are tying to only use "electrum" as keywords, make a small modification on your keywords to research such as use "fake electrum", with this keywords, you will find few results that will bring you to official and real domain of electrum. Check small things on search results adsSometimes, you will find a typo on their title or typo on web description. If you find this results, stay away from that websites. Legit website developers will not do this. Everything on their website can buiild a brand awareness and trust from users. If their website has a typo, it can be a sign of fake website. This tutorial for newbie or member who never used email filter. If you are a pro about it, you can skip this thread or give another suggestion for newbie member how to be save from phishing and scam email.
REPORT PHISHING2 days in a row, I received a phishing email about airdrop BAT from different account with similar content. So, to prevent another member became a victim of this project, so I report URL to https://safebrowsing.google.com/safebrowsing/report_phish/?hl=en. But, I found another easy way to report phishing email if you are using a gmail account. What do you need to do just with this 4 simple way to report phishing. 1. Open your phishing email 2. Click three dot under the print button on your email, focus on subject area. 3. Report as phishing 4. And send Here is step by step to report phishing mail easily with the google email account.  I don't know how long this button ready on our email menu, because I never checked that menu (three vertical dot). Of course, this feature is a good option for members. I hope this can help someone to avoid from scam and phishing, and maybe give a new knowledge to member who doesn't check this menu before

Click menu "Filter message like these"  4. Don't fill anything except "has the words" form. Fill this form using keywords usually used with format "WORD 1" OR "WORD 2" OR "WORD 3"
