I have been running Bitcoin Core on Ubuntu for some years now, and a new version usually gets a new snap pretty quickly - but currently my Ubuntu 24.10 system is stll showing 27.1 as the latest version, even though 28.0 and 28.1 have been released for months.

Is my snapd broken, or have snaps for Ubuntu been stopped for some reason?

Has anyone else had this problem?  I tried installing RC2 on a Windows 7 machine, and after initialization, at the point where you would expect it to open the main GUI window, it just exits.  I installed RC3 and it exhibits the same behavior.

The 0.14.2 client was running with no problems before I tried the release candidate...  It's painful to revert now because 0.15.0 upgrades the UTXO database to a new format during installation.

No matter what node I try to add with:

addnode node-addr add

it fails.  If I do a getaddednodeinfo command after, it always shows as not connected.  Am I doing something wrong, or is it just broke?

If I put "addnode=node-addr" in bitcoin.conf, that works fine.
