WHY USE DUTYCOIN?
In 2016, duty free/travel retail sales amounted to about 63.6 billion U.S. dollars. Travel retail includes all sales made in shops located in duty free areas or any areas dedicated to travelers. By 2020, duty free and retail sales are expected to reach about 85 billion U.S. dollars.
The world's largest airport by duty-free sales is South Korea's Incheon Airport, with US$1.85 billion in 2016, narrowly overtaking Dubai Duty Free with 2016 sales of $1.82 billion.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) expects 7.2 billion passengers to travel in 2035, a near doubling of the 3.8 billion air travelers in 2016.
Furthermore, according to IATA's Global Passenger Survey, passengers want technology to give them more control over their travel experience, including more efficient security, less spending additional fees, and they are ready to go digital.
