I'm looking to exact a little revenge on someone who scammed me out of a few hundred dollars, and am willing to pay some btc to do so. What I'd like to do is to have someone program a script that can text this person's phone repeatedly, ideally at least 3x per second (the higher the better), so that his phone will be largely unusable. If he wants to read any texts or call out from his phone, he won't be able to since his phone will still be registering new texts continuously. Ideally, this solution would have different originating sources, whether that be phone number or email address so that he couldn't easily just ban incoming texts from a certain number. Looking to spend up to $100 in btc for a usable solution that will bombard his phone for at least 1 month. Plus, you'll get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped make a scammer's life a little bit worse. Think about those times when you got scammed and imagine the reaction of that person if this happened to them. Any takers?

Hey guys, I just repurposed one of my friend's old computers as one of my mining computers, moving my 7970 and 5870 to it. On my old comp, I got about 1000 Mhash/sec, but this new one I only seem to be getting 400? Here's exactly what I did. If I didn't mention it, I didn't do it: 1) Reformatted and installed Windows 7 2) Downloaded chrome 3) Installed latest ATI 12.6 Catalyst Driers 4) Installed Guiminer 5) Installed Diablominer 6) Installed Java 7) Installed MSI Afterburner and set clocks to 1050 on the 7970 and 900 on the 5870 Started diablominer - it says I'm doing 1000 mhash/sec, but on btcguild where i Have it pointed, it says that I'm only at 450 mhash/sec ...wtf is going on? Did I miss a step? Why am I not hashing with the same rate as I did on the old comp? And why is diablominer saying that I'mhashing at 1000 mhash/sec if I'm not. Btw, same problem persists when I use guiminer instead. Only difference is that it says I'm doing 900 when I'm actually doing 450. Is there something else I need to install in order to make these things work? I didn't install any chipset drivers or anything, but windows seemed to have picked it up correctly.

So the GTX 680 is launching with 1536 CUDA cores, compared to its predecessor the GTX 580 with with 512.
Since NVidia was always so much worse than AMD because it used fewer, but stronger cores, will this make Nvidia actually viable for mining?

Hey all,
So I reformatted my computer without sending my coins to Mt. Gox. D'oh.
BUTTTTT...I have a system backup from a week ago. Great, right?
Well...I restored the folder C:\\Program Files(X86)\Bitcoin , but it doesn't have the 25 odd coins that I had in my wallet...? What? Am I missing something? If I restore the entire folder Bitcoin from the program files folder, shouldn't it still have all my bitcoins in it?
What am I missing? :/

Hey all, Looking for someone to do some freelance programming work on my site that is based in php, uses MySQL as the database backend, and uses javascript as well. Experience with linux is a plus. Site is: http://www.sharpbettracker.com/Will pay in btc or USD depending on preference. We can decide on an hourly rate or a rate per task completed, depending on your preference as well. It will mostly consist of smaller standalone tasks, like enhancements that users request rather than large overarching site changes. Examples include: 1) Adding new bet types ex: Team Totals, 1st 5 inning MLB bets 2) Formatting the way the data is presented ex: showing data as W-L-T % as well as $ won/lost If interested, please post in this thread or PM me with your previous portfolio of work and background (any sites you've created in the past or what you're proficient in), and what method of payment you'd prefer if you took the jobs (paid hourly vs paid per task / btc vs USD / and how much $ you'd charge). I'm looking to spend several thousand dollars in upgrading the site, so hopefully that shows anybody interested how serious I am. You won't be wasting your time hoping to chase a few hundred dollars. I know quality programming skills cost $$$ P.S. If you're wondering why I posted this here, I figure anyone who's interested in bitcoin is probably pretty tech savvy, so posting this here is a good way to weed out lesser programmers who make crappy code. I look forward to seeing your submissions gentlemen.

Hey all,
I bought a new 6970, but...it's too big for my case. ><
So I guess I may as well sell it. It's a reference card, so it should be easily overclockable, and since it's a 6970, obviously it will play games extremely well. Look for $375 worth of btc (or $375 straight up), shipping included to anywhere within the continental US.
PM me if interested.

Hey y'all,
Conceptual question. I have a two ATI cards. Which card will hate life more (i.e. be hotter), the card on top or the card on bottom?
I thought it would be the card on the bottom since it is closer to the bottom of the case and the top card has all the air above it, but I'm starting to think that's not true based on temps in my machine.
Will the top card end up hotter than the bottom? Or vice versa?
And if so, why?

Hey, Some idiot kid on craigslist sold me an ATI 5850 that was bricked and now won't return my phone calls. Yay $150 paperweight. I'm looking to exact a little revenge by making his cellphone largely unusable. I'd like to find a way to send his phone a text every 10 to 30 seconds or so continuously. Ideally, these would come from different sources over time so that he couldn't just block whatever email address / server / phone number was, but that's not necessarily a requirement. Not really sure what kind of bounty to put on a project like this, so uh...tell me what you can do and how much you're looking for? And of course, further ideas for revenge would be appreciated! ~~~~~ {edit: dacoinminster has come up with a great idea! Bitcoin bounty for recorded prank calls to the stupid scammer - title changed to reflect this} .1 btc bounty - That's $1.40! to anyone who prank calls this number 281-685-0510, records it, and shares it with us here in this thread. Scammer's name is Shawn Martin. Bonus bitcoins for hilarious content! Try to make it at an inconvenient time. He is in the Central Time Zone US (Chicago time zone) as a reference Caller suggestions: 1) Use a heavy accent, then accuse him of racism if he claims he can't understand you. 2) Tell him he won a big prize, then make him do something ridiculous to claim the prize. a. "TV Show: All you have to do to claim your $1M is dig a 6 ft deep hole in your parents' lawn before they notice!" b. "Radio Show: All you have to do to claim your trip to Tahiti is convince your parents you are gay." 3) Pretend you are an investigating a crime, and he is the suspect 4) Pretend you are an angry gay man jealous of his flirting with your partner 5) Offer $100 payment if he completes your survey, then ask lots of embarrassing questions 6) The old classic: claim that he called you. 7) If you are a girl, or know one who can pull this off: "Shawn, I'm calling from the doctor's office. I'm pregnant!" (For best results, have her talk in a hoarse whisper because she has laryngitis) 8 ) Extra points if you get him to divulge his address (where should we send the check?)
1 btc bonus bounty if you can figure out his address!

Hey y'all,
I'm having troubles setting up my second video card in Ubuntu. It constantly says "Verification Failed. Check Hardware" when I try to mine using the polcbm miner. First card has no problems whatsoever, but second one...not so much.
I'm just re-using my same polcbm structure from the first worker (which is working) except changing the last line to reflect the new worker name and password. Is there something else I should be changing?

Up for sale is a water cooling block for the ATI Radeon 5870 video card. This will allow you to run your card even cooler (even with an aggressive overclock) than stock, leading to a less hot room/computer. And best of all, it will be quieter than all other 5870s, so if your computer fans are annoying you, this is one great way to reduce system noise! This item regularly retails for $100 ( http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=1022), so you'll be saving $35. Note, this item is used, since I used it on my 5870. Also, this is *not* a complete water cooling system that will work by itself. I just want to avoid any misunderstandings. PM if interested. P.S. I have two if you want to get two of them for your dual 5870 setup. If you get both, then feel free to knock off 1 bitcoin from the total price (or $6).

So I set up two 5870's (not crossfired - one powers each monitor) yesterday. Everything was hunky dory yesterday, both of them at 100% activity and at around 75 celcius.
Today, I wake up and they've both lowered themselves to about 80-85% activity according to the catalyst control center and are at around 68 to 70 celcius. Whaaaaat?
How do I fix this? My 5870's are both delivering about 250 Mhash/s instead of the 300+ that I was expecting. I want that extra 100 Mhash/s!
Any ideas?

I've noticed I'm fluctuating between 3-7% stale shares when mining through my pool. What is a "normal" stale share rate? I figure if enough of us post, we'll be able to figure out what other people are getting and thus define "normal." Please post your stale share % and your mining pool (if applicable). Thanks! I'll start: ~5% btcguild
