1  Bitcoin / Mining / How many GPUs can Windows 7 Support? on: June 03, 2011, 03:47:57 PM
Hi Folks,

I was wondering, if there is a difference for mining with Windows 7 32bit, or 64bit.

Also, I was wondering if windows can run up to 7 Cards, I have a MSI 890FXA - there are 7 slots I can fill up with vid cards, would windows be able to detect them all?

4  Bitcoin / Mining / 3K worth of mining equipment did it all fail? on: May 28, 2011, 09:34:16 PM
Hi Folks,

I recently spent around 3k on hardware. I have several of these riggs made, and need some rescuing.

Motherboard is MSI 890FXA - it has 5 PCIe X16 Slots. I bought some extensions for them that will come soon.

I have 2 6950s plugged into each rig so far, no cross fire, no dummy plugs. My Riggs will run for about an hour then go into a black screen state and not do anything...

My powersupply is 1k Watt Kingwin,

What seems to be the problem here does anyone know?
5  Bitcoin / Mining / Donation for your help, How do I mine with more than 1 GPU with GUI miner? on: May 28, 2011, 05:44:17 AM
Hi Folks,

I just bought a MSI Motherboard with 5 PCIe slots, but it looks like you can only fit 4 cards on the board, so I have decided to go with 4, 6950 which I have all installed correctly on the board.

However, windows and my GUI miner is only picking up the 1 card that my monitor is plugged into. Also I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit,

Please help.

Thanks!
6  Bitcoin / Mining / MEGA MASSIVE HASH POWER ADDED TO THE NETWORK?! on: May 26, 2011, 06:51:51 PM
I'm not sure if folks are paying attention to the entire network. This morning we were at 3.6 - 3.8Ghash/s now we're at over 7Ghash/s in a few hours... what the hell is going on? Did someone plug in their super mining clusters or computers?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will bitcoin actually take off? Is it possible really? on: May 24, 2011, 02:36:39 AM
BitCoin! So here's a fantastic idea. Non-centralized currency, great concept. However, will it work? I mean how much can you really trust it right? Think about this following scenario.

The general public will have these types of questions running through their mind.

1) How can this become a main stream currency if, when you buy something there's no way to actually implement a return system. Since there are no authorities that ultimately means, when you buy something it's final, unless you can convince the seller to refund you. In the event the seller doesn't comply you're stuck with your item.

2) Now lets say, you buy something and it's DOA (dead on arrival) for example a videocard, or a cell phone anything electronic will serve the purpose. Now the seller claims it worked before they shipped it, what do you do? You're obviously not going to get a refund.

These are just some basic concerns I have... I'm sure there's alot more out there. I'm curious to hear what everyone has to say about this.
8  Bitcoin / Mining / Does deepbit rip people off? on: May 19, 2011, 07:21:11 PM
I am currently mining with GUIMiner on windows 7. Im running a 6990 at 955mhz gpu clock, 1250 memory clock, power control at +20, temperature is set at 69degrees Celsius.

Gui miner shows me I am mining between 710-780mhash/s

On deepbit, it's constantly showing me my average is between 575-650 mhash/s

Am I being ripped off?

I would like to work with someone who can allocate some time in explaining to me over skype or chat.

Thanks, and I look forward to working with you soon.
10  Bitcoin / Mining / Mining Solo - How to set up a server so multiple riggs dont compete on same blck on: May 17, 2011, 08:30:42 PM
Hi Folks,

Any help will be appreciated. For the pro who can guide me through my setup, I will be more than happy to donate some BTC to you or some USD to you for your time and help.

What I am looking for.

I am building atleast 5 2x 6990 riggs so mining power will be atleast 6.5ghash/s . If things work out that will be doubled to 10 riggs with a total of 13ghash/s.

I want to know what is the best way to set this up so all my riggs dont compete with each other on blocks, and mine to 1 global wallet, or what ever way is the most efficient to do so.

Also, I would like to know if it is better to go with ubuntu or windows?

Lastly, I would like to set up a mining pool for the future. Any help will be appreciated thanks!
